How Pixar Studied Emotions to Bring Inside Out 2 to Life
Inside Out 2 recently came out to continue their story with Riley and her emotions Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust. Seeing the film introduce a new set of emotions (Anxiety, Embarrassment, Envy, and Ennui) had me wondering how Pixar researched real emotions to bring them to life in the film. Knowing that Pixar puts a lot of effort into the small details of their films, I did some research to find out more behind their process behind it. You can still catch Inside Out 2 in theaters with Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Phyllis Smith, Ayo Edebiri, and many more!
There are a lot of resources available to learn more about Dr. Keltner and the work he has done to study human emotion within his car...

How House of the Dragon’s VFX Team Brings Dragons to Life
Просмотров 55 тыс.Месяц назад
In Season 2 of House of the Dragon, we see two very interesting scenes with dragons. Most notably, The Battle of Rook's Rest where we see quite the battle between Aegon and Sunfyre, Rhaenys and Meleys, and Aemond and Vhagar. After seeing this scene, I needed to know the details of how they merged practical and visual effects to bring these scenes to life. Season 2 still has 4 episodes left star...

      i disagree. I think it served the story really well. SPOILERS AHEAD: To me it symbolizes the moment the game stopped being about the whole love triangle and all the history and everything and just became about one thing: the game. And that was represented by us being the ball. Plus the increase in pace, the music, the intensity. It perfectly heightens the intensity culminating in that awesome pull out to a birds eye view shot at the end showing the game as a game. So I think that it was both an awesome shot and one that served the film and story very well.

    could not keep watching because of the African chick. i was hoping this was a story about a guy chasing his dream. but it turned in to a sad all cooks have such a hard life, bro its not a hard life and most of the struggle created in the show are because of stupid mistakes and insane characters people I would never want to talk to because they are so obsessed with their own life. first season was fine after that it just became wining. you got the dumb as guy making donuts while his job is to make chocolate cake. basically all of the african chicks dishes are sucked out stupid dishes that did not make my mouth water and she seems to be the most entitled because her mom died or some shit. they tryne be a michelin star restaurant but they cant even do mise en place. as someone who studied under a michelin star cook turned in to house cook because that whole world is cancer in its self. basically when guests come in everything needs to be ready so you only have to focus on how it looks. only small seers or heating things like that happen. i never worked in a michelin restaurant but the show makes it seem like those people hate what they do but if thats the case maybe stop doing it dont act like you go in to hell to make me a fucking meal dumbass. (some parts of the show are really good)

    Want me to ruin every kitchen scene you ever watch? The hand on the small of the back is to stop anyone from turning into you with a hot pan or knife, or tripping if they step back. Someone will tell actors to do it but the ones that have been out of a real kitchen to long will WAY over do it. Like they will reach around a persons waist from the front/do it to people with empty hands outside the line or worst of all do it to a person walking away from them. If you watch for it you will see it in just about any film with a kitchen staff. If gun nuts and medical nerds get to complain about their interests being comically misrepresented I get to complain that "kitchen accuracy consultant" doesn't seem to be a profession. Also anyone that's waited tables for more than a week can carry three plates at a time and make it look fancy. Most can do 4 some can do 5, you will be hard pressed to see an actor carry 3.

    something interesting about the bear as a tv show is that as someone who has much experience working in kitchens both fine dining and casual eating, is that it really manages to somehow capture the genuine feeling that is presented by the stress in a kitchen. its almost like you are back on that 4:30 pm rush.

    I had someone on Facebook argue with me that the dragons in this show are indistinguishable from each other. He made the argument that Arrax & Moondancer looked exactly the same. In my opinion, the dragons in this show are very distinguishable, I think the show has done an incredible job in the variety of characteristics in each dragons design. & I also don't agree with Arrax & Moondancer looking the same. They don't look remotely the same imo. Opinions?

    • @trevscinema
      @trevscinema 10 дней назад

      I definitely agree with your thoughts here. While I can see where their argument is coming from, the production put a lot of work into building the personality and look of each dragon to overcome this. To create the dragons as distinct characters, they focused on size, shape, and color. Plus, I feel that tying the dragons to their riders also helps the viewers learn to differentiate them as the show progresses.

    Having worked in several restaurants in High School and college (not fancy ones), I appreciate the authenticity of this show! When things were working well, and the "team" in sync, every once in a while, working a shift could almost feel like being in a ballet. Along with mostly sheer drudgery and repetition.

    I just thought that the romance ark of the bear is its weakest element. Coming in exactly at the time when he starts shouting about how he should not be in a romantic relationship felt so cliché it hurt a bit. Usually, good writing, but that part felt like a mistake. Like an executive saying, hey to get a bigger audience we need a romantic interest to push up the drama. So the finale of season 2 felt like a letdown. The mother angle and group dynamic of the staff is much more fascinating to me.

  • @duyle557

    The dragons in the show, although cool looking, are far from being scientifically accurate. Their wing design was based off of birds, narrow and long which would make it impossible for web-base wings to glide. If they flap their wings they can only go up, not forward. Bird wings are unique in that each feather is an individual wing in itself so more surface area will generate a greater difference in air pressure allowing lift. All scientific web-wing animals like bats and pterosaurs need more surface area to move forward so the skin needs to run down the body and attach to the hind limbs and tail like modern day bats. Even a human flying squirrel suit use this same principle to glide so no, these dragons will fall face first if they attempt flight.

    As a tennis player this movie was hard to watch. This scene is a perfekt example why. The idea of a POV Tennis ball isn´t bad in the first place but a tennis ball usually spins forward, so this doesn't feel realistic at all. Also the way the actors move feels just wrong. I didn't expect much and I was still disappointed.
