British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed his dismay and outrage after a supporter of Nigel Farage’s right-wing reform UK party was caught making a racial slur about him. Sunak emphasized that it was crucial for him to speak out about the incident. Initially, Farage also condemned the language used in the comments but later suggested, without providing evidence, that the individual who made the remarks was possibly an actor involved in a political setup to undermine reform during the election. People make fun of my dad's accent because although 100 percent Anglo-Saxon he has a non descript "non regional" educated BBC type accent, but I do not condemn an entire party for someone who in a moment of frustration says something at him. After all, for 3000 years and more these islands are ancestrally Anglo-Saxon, Celtic, Viking and Norman, we are not the United States and even the USA had a policy of immigration according to countries of origin until 1960s which worked very well until the Democrat party changed it and some could argue that the USA is in a multicultural mess today because of that change. So be reasonable and patient with people.

A volunteer who turned up on the day to offer to 'help' give out leaflets, but just so happened to be an actor, and just by coincidence also have a channel 4 film crew in tow. I think any sensible person can see this for what it is.

Surprisingly, as an Indian who has admittedly never been to the UK and doesn't plan to anytime soon but spent some time in other western nations, I thought this sort of language was par for the course in general British discourse and widely acceptable given their political choices in recent years as well as their history.
I'm impressed by the fact that the Brits have evolved to a point wherein at least public displays of such language are frowned upon. But then again, the bar is pretty low. Today, when I meet a Brit and they don't threaten to get drunk and start trashing stuff around them I am impressed. As the bar falls lower, the sight of a Brit throwing a beercan in the trashcan instead of on the ground might soon inspire wonder.

As an Indian, I don't think that's the problem, that's the whole point. It's categorizing based on superficially visible characteristics and othering and unfortunately Brits are far from the only people who do it. From an objective point of view, the Brits in particular do seem to catch a disproportionate amount of flak for it though.
It's almost as if some cultures are held to a higher standard to ensure standards of tolerance and acceptance in the world in general trend upwards not downwards. Someone has to pull the weight of the world in this manner of thinking or majoritarianism becomes the order of the day and we decline as a civilization. I'm not sure if I agree with such thinking.
I was pleasantly surprised there was outrage in Britain including in the Reform leadership because I'd always thought the general public was accepting or at least condoning of such discourse. Perhaps the Brits are better than what we give them credit for and India could learn a thing or two from them.

Having had the first (British Indian) Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (albeit unelected), being subject, to historic, racial slurs, (that date back, (to at least the commencement of the fifties), and that are meant, and intended, to remind the Prime-Minister of his place, could never be seen as a respectable, and a reputable look, for Reform. Seventy years of historic, long-standing, racial slurs, for minority groups, resident in the UK. My father was subject to these racial slurs as a fourteen year old child, working night-shift patterns, (on minimum wage), in the mills, and bakeries, of Bradford, West-Yorkshire, and suffered far worse racial abuse, before he eventually retired, having worked full-time, (for a minimum of sixty years) in the same profession. Thankfully, it is the beautiful Grace of God, which allows us all to remember, that we each have value, and have meaning.💮💮💮💮💮💮
