Wow that was a super-fun video to watch! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching! more on the way!
Most of us will never find a change purse full of old coins- you've found 3- guess I'm hunting in RI this year. Just awesome - Congrats Dave...
haha thanks man, I was floored by all of these, never thought it would happen. I'm putting landmines around this spot
Congratulations on the awesome hunt that's some nice stuff 👍🦀
Thanks ghost! Hopefully I can get back out there again soon
You are really making some memories. You will always remember these finds. Something to tell the grandkids.
Thanks man, I hope that it would inspire an interest in treasure hunting for them
Totally got to be the luckiest guy..congrats on purse #2 awesome finds
Thanks very much! Took 7 years to find a spot like this
Wow cool finds an old purse and coins well done 👍✅
Thanks for watching! Pretty exciting to dig that up
How exciting to find all the coins in the purse.
I was very excited about it, thanks for watching!
You've been on fire at that spot. Wow. Love the Relics. Congrats on the purse and all the Coins. Especially your third Seated Silver. Love the IHP'S, V Nickle, and 2 Shield Nickles. Hope there's more there for you. Take Care
Thanks Crazie! I've been scraping that spot clean lol I hope there's more too
That sure was an amazing day for you! Congratulations on all of your finds. You sure have been blessed! Enjoy your rewards for today and I sure hope your days keep being as blessed as today has! I just joined your channel so I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

Thanks very much! I'm hoping for that as well
Awesome finds buddy congratulations👍
Thanks very much man!
Nice finds!
Thanks Bobby!
Awesome hunt - thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bob!
Im a new subscriber and i really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for making them, they always get me excited for the weekends when i go out myself.
Hey really glad to hear man, I love getting pumped up to go dig watching other people's finds so I'm glad to contribute
Hello Dave, saw this video in my feed. New sub here from Waterloo Ontario 🇨🇦 Keep swinging!
Hey cool man, thanks for watching and following along! Another one coming next week
cool doorknob and rosette. Wow all those coins at one time? amazing.
Thanks man! I know lol it really turned the day around
soak them in olive oll for a week it will help so you can read them
Yep, that's a good way to do it. Those coins came out pretty nice as is though
New subscriber from SE MN here. Great hunt in difficult conditions! Love seeing your excitement! That's what this hobby is all about...anticipation of the good things we know are to come with hard work and perseverance. We had an unusually warm day Sunday at 44 degrees, so I hit an ongoing permission of mine...a field that held a farm as far back as 1870s, but the ground was so frozen I was only able to dig half of the targets I located. Can't wait for the ground to thaw so I can get back for more. Thanks for allowing us to join in your excitement. Looking forward to following more of your adventures. Jim Parry, Backroads Metal Detecting
Hey Jim, thanks for watching man! Glad to be able to share some great hunts, they're not always that good lol but it's an aweosme hobby, glad to hear that your getting out before the spring as well!
I’ve been out this week a couple of days as well. Some spots I could get just an inch down before I hit the frozen solid ground. Some areas I could actually dig. I don’t have much to show for it this week, but I am looking forward to spring! Good luck to you
Thought maybe the long piece was part of a weather vain. Congrats on the great hoard!
Thanks very much man! Still anyone's guess, I'm still saying towel or coat hook
Amazing finds!👍👍👍
Appreciate it man!
I loved your wrapup at the end. Beautiful presentation. And for sure nice finds overall. Congratulations.
Thanks very much man! That was a cool opportunity to show those coins coming apart after so many years
Hello! You just popped up in my feed! Very good video I like your style. I love your finds! New subscriber here. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos. Take care!
thanks for watching! Another one coming next week!
Good finds 👏 found a seated like that once
Thanks man! I was pretty excited to see it wasn't a merc
Once again great day!. I'm next door in CT & finally found a couple soft spots to dig but now its frozen again!. Urghhh!. Congrats on the finds.
Thanks Joseph! Yeah, it's been tough digging for a few weeks now but hopefully we're on the other side of the freezing temps, keep swingin!
Joseph I am in upstate New York and I’m having trouble finding ground I can get into. I’ve been out three days this week without much luck. I found on south facing slopes, I can get into the ground much easier. The rest of it it’s pretty much so 1 inch and you’re done. Good luck spring is coming!
@@MetalDetectingDonna thanks for the advice Swinging Donna. If your finding soft ground up there then i should be able to find some here... now we gotta get rid of this white stuff again!!. Thanks again., & love the name!
@@josephfabiano6011 thank you so much! We just got a foot of it yesterday! Oh well, spring should be here soon! Never soon enough though!
I guess lightning does strike twice!👍👍
hah right, never saw that coming
The first object is a bubble glass reflector as you surmised ($5.00 Word LOL). I have several made by Corning Glass for Railroads, but much bigger in diameter!
cool, its plastic though :/ I thought maybe bike reflector?
Plastic? then likely off a dirt bike. My only shield nickel is an 1874. Went back the next day and checked the hole again. Shocked to hear another coin, a very thin, dateless Seated dime!
Nice, that's a fun spill!
@@Suncast45 Wow! So glad you checked again! 👍
👍 Unbelievable finds 👍 Congrats to you.
thanks very much! I never expected to find another full purse
Congratulations on all of your finds
Thanks very much!
I found the exact same thing as your first item on my grandpas property just outside Spokane, Wa. The best we could come up with is some sort of tail light.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking like a tail reflector for a bike or something
You LITERALLY struck pay dirt!!! That is sooooo awesome…find of a lifetime..wouldn’t you love to know the story behind those purses and how they ended up there? Take care and happy hunting
I know! that was pretty light hunt until those purses came up and it sounded like a junky 17 signal when I dug the first purse clasp, gotta dig those iffy signals! Happy hunting!
Great vid and finds! Thanks for sharing the fun. There is likely some gold nearby. Dig all the signals you run across. They had money there. Possibly a business owner.
Thanks for watching! It was an event area in the late 1800s, I'm digging all the mid tones
👍 awesome!
Great finds enjoyed watching
thanks man!
Dude, make the hole bigger! Awesome find!
Two change purses with coins from the same area could very well indicate these were caches, not simply just lost items. If there were two, there's likely more.
oh I'll be lookin lol thanks for watching!
Wouldn’t that be wonderful!?
Man congrats on those coins. Keep the Video's coming and happy hunting
Thanks man! Hopefully the ground will thaw so I can get back out there, another one coming next week!
@@DTdigs ever since this pandemic hit the permissions have went down hill. Am i the only one having this problem?
defintiely, I've been hunting alot more preserves because of it
Digging in snow and ice? That’s hard core!!
Eh, the forest floor is still pretty soft under the leaves
It sure is!
Insanity, 2 coin purses in 1 dig!
yessir, I'm assuming they were inside of eachother, not many things more satisfying than pulling apart old coins that have been stuck together for 100 + years
Great hunt...tough conditions...you earned your stripes today!! Thanks for taking us with you!! (Hey, you know something, if it would be easier for you, maybe that background music isn't really necessary...)
Thanks man! If it's not frozen, I'll get out there and dig
Nice finds 👌
thanks man!
Land mines!!!🤣🤣😂 I’m sure I would too!! Or camp out with a shot gun!!😂 But seriously, now I’m concerned, you haven’t found any ,huh, bones your not telling us about??!!🤔😉 Those little high highfalutin purses was carried, as there was change in them, and ladies would have never thrown away those, and that many in one place?!! Where was that lovey fiancé of yours?? Missed her! Anyway, sort of strange….. but keep finding such great things, but I do wonder if there was something that ought not to be……. God Bless!❣️
hah I explained the history of the place in one of my responses to you, I don't feel like there was anything malicious going on there, thousands of people would gather there at those rallies
@@DTdigs I was actually just kidding, but still totally curious how so many girls lost their purses. Me thinks a good looking fellow worked there, and talked so sweet, they lost their minds….and purses!!!🤣🤣🤣Thankyou🙏
haha quite possible, a slick talker with furtive hands perhaps
@@janledford3010 🤣❤️
That is just awesome man. Imagine what and who those coins have been with and seen.
Absolutely! That's the best part of this hobby, reconnecting lost pieces of the past
@@DTdigs , loving the content man. Great job on these finds. I’m getting ready to expand my content and this will be part of it if I can ever find ground worthy of holding such treasures. 🍻
Hey, lots of people metal detect for nuggets, the minelab equinox 800 has phenomenal gold settings
@@DTdigs , yeah I’m slowly getting into that. The ground where I get my gold is highly mineralized and it’s constant signals so I get frustrated. Lots of hot rocks. I have the whites gmx sport. I need to learn to use the settings and adjust accordingly I guess.
yeah, that's an issue here too, think that's the answer
nice finds. so jealous. never found an indian head coin. subscribed.
Thanks man, I'm quite sure you'll find one if you keep diggin! Took me alot of unsuccessful hunts to find a place like that one
Congratulations brother! I am a new follower and I love your videos.
Thanks man! I've been on some amazing spots lately, glad to have so much to show from them. Another episode coming next wed!
@Dave Torrey that's awesome! So are you somewhere near the New England area?
Yep, in Rhode Island, alot of these videos were filmed in CT though. Lots of history around here
@Dave Torrey yeah that's what I thought. I am from Northern Maine, but I am living in Florida now. But we visit up north a lot to do some detecting and fishing while visiting the family.
@@big.lee007 Nice, could find some real spanish trail or pirate history down there too
Maybe a purse thieves hiding spot?
hah that defintiely crossed my mind, the area was an event center with vendors in the late 1800s
Wow! Amazing finds. Where are you? What state? I'm new to you channel😎😎😎😎🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
This is in CT but I mostly hunt RI, thanks for tuning in!
I wonder if there was a body near those purses... just a little deeper
lol guess there's always a possibility but it was an event space in the 1800s for womens rights rallies and public meetings... prolly just alot a ladies getting excited
I like the vid I'm old enough to know the small clasps are from a woman's change purse.
Hah yep, think it was a purse inside of a purse situation
motorcycle kick stand on last item!
hah you think so? maybe a homemade one
You might consider getting a coin micersop, so you can see close ups on your finds.
Good idea, those jewelers lenses work pretty well for me too
That reflector is actually worth some money. I sold the one I found last summer for $85. The guy was desperate for it to complete a 1920's bike restoration.
that's pretty cool! The back where it fastened is pretty wrecked but if that guy needs another one let me know lol
That’s interesting! I found one of these in South Dakota and thought it was interesting but junk!!
Speak easy in the woods? Some lady of the night got caught pick pocketing and you’ve found her stash. Maybe you’ll find her bones later!
Hah thought about that many times, it was an event space in the late 1800s for rallies and gatherings
"I found 2 more"
hah yep
Next time try freezing and thawing a bunch of times just like in the ground using distilled h2o
on the coins that were stuck together?
@@DTdigs on all the treasurre hunting finds. Meta) expands and contracts different than water maybe breaking the crud off very slowly and saving the coins detail.I have metal detected for many years and ruined many coins .tried many different ways of cleaning and freezing and thawing seem to be a good way to start.
that's a great tip, seems like the most natural way to go about it
though I had some problem with sea water It also ruclips.net/user/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn
Thanks for watching!
Music is a little weird. Nice job though
Thanks buddy, happy hunting!
Do you make a good living doing this as far as income?
Not at all lol just a hobby, I'm a painter and carpenter
Pl
