Problem is WizKids not not release a full set to flush out the adventure. It would be really cool if they included all the NPCs and creatures of the adventure or at least all the creatures. It is just a sampling...example the adult myconids are missing, no zombies, no young bronze dragon, no winged kobolds and some others missing. Cool product and I'd buy it if it were complete.
You’re totally right about it being just a sampling. It’s a little frustrating for it to be so close to a perfect product. I would’ve paid triple the price to get the full set like you said with all npc’s and creatures. Thankfully I already have some the other missing minis such as the harpy, ghoul, zombies and some kobolds (not winged)…so I almost have everything to complete my set (still trying to get Adult Myconids though). Already a few people have mentioned here that these minis should’ve been included with the Starter Set and I gotta say I agree (ideally with all the minis required for it like you mentioned).
@@darliniansdungeon I am getting ready to run Dragons of Stormwreck Isle for my Grandkids aged 8 to 12. I did consider the 2D acrylic minis but I have gone with getting the 3D minis. Just completed getting all the creatures. Having a hard time finding Kobolds for the cloister - Kobolds without weapons in general clothing. Good review. I will check out your other videos.
Your videos and shorts hints at terrain setups - you may want to consider making a video or two on setting up terrain for tabletop play based on the adventure or an adventure you host/DM.

Wow that’s a lot campaigns and a lot of work for you!! I hear ya on the portability factor…all of this has to be played in my dungeon that’s for sure (no way I’m hauling this around). Those 2D minis are such a cool alternative, allowing more people to experience using minis in D&D. Its so much easier for combat setup and important scenarios all around, it’s a game changer for me!!

Once you begin painting your own minis, you can totally make them waaay better than the premium painted versions for sure. I’ve only just started about 2 years ago, but have actually made 3 painting videos at the beginner level to demonstrate this. Please let your friend know about this channel as they may totally dig this content (hopefully). These 2Ds are awesome, but I a confused at why the chose to do 7 Myconid sprouts and 1 adult Myconid, where as in the adventure there are only 2 sprouts and a lot more adults! I know that the kobalds and the owlbear have the most replay ability, but they aren’t essential to the adventure. Well at least not 7 of the kobalds. There are much better ones they could have chosen. I might buy this, but their choices of monsters aren’t the best for this adventure.
I totally agree with everything you said. What a missed opportunity to make more money and make the fans happier. For the price though, it’s a total money saver if you don’t have any of those minis. Heads up when it comes to the Myconids… there are actually more sprouts throughout Seagrow Cave (at least 5) and they only include the Sovereign Myconid (large) and not even 1 of the adults (which I think is 6-8 adults in the adventure). I currently have to use Mushrooms from the Warlock Tiles ‘Mushrooms and Pools’ set to sub the adults in for now cause those minis are hard to get. I have most of the other monsters for this adventure already, so this set was pretty good to me. Still, I would’ve easily paid triple to have ALL the minis in the adventure as these minis are pretty cool ✌🏻
They come in the actual Starter Set box as pre-generated character sheets with the beginner adventure manual, some dice, a basic rule book. Those minis I reviewed should’ve been included with that Starter Set box! And even weirder, those pre-generated character sheets they provide look different than those minis in the video. And yeah, I totally hear ya about using them as NPC’s to help the party out! I actually played the thief in my Miniature Movie when I was DM’ing that adventure (up on my channel). It really helped move the adventure along when needed. Check it out if you haven’t already, I think you might dig it if you like minis and D&D ✌🏻😄

I hear ya!! I’m really not understanding the logic behind this setup? My only thought is they realized that all the pre-gens would be the human race and (hopefully through play testing) understood that may NOT be a good idea for beginners to learn. It’s a weird one that’s for sure!

@@darliniansdungeon it is mostly how they handle their IPs and the general overpriced nature of their products. I know it is not for everyone, but having a 3D printer not only pays for itself, but on the long run you save an incredible amount of money.

@@darliniansdungeon A good starting point would be Elegoo Mars 2 or Elegoo Mars 2 Pro. It is easy to use and set up, and I only leveled the print once or twice in about 40 prints. The price point is accessible too, especially since it goes on sale on Amazon quite often. I also recommend using water washable resin, it makes life 10 times easier then normal resin. (and saves you from buying IPA). Also with experience, I found out that 3D printing is not nearly as messy or hard as some youtubers made it out to be.

I only wish I knew how fun it was to paint them and use them in-game when I was younger. I am soooo glad I found out about it during the pandemic and used that time to learn and apply. My life has never been the same since 😎

I love what @wizkidsofficial is doing here, but I gotta say what everyone here is thinking…and that is…I really wish they would’ve included these in the actual D&D Starter Box Set. Also, @wizkidsofficial should really be selling complete packs of 2D minis tailored to certain adventures, just like they did with Stormwreck. 🤩 Unfortunately with Stormwreck, they still didn’t include all the important characters and monsters to complete the adventure. The Fire Snake, Adult Myconids, Fume Drakes, Harpies, Zombies, Tarak, Varnoth and Runara (bronze Dragon) are still missing to complete the set. Soooo close!!! Hopefully they continue making these cause I am super impressed with the quality and value ✌️😀
@@darliniansdungeon just arrived today, my Essentials Kit Starter Pack WITH Essential Idols of the realms flat minis, which seem to have all monsters and heroes to play through the entire adventure, there was 4 total packs of minis for this kit though, not just one pack, like for stormwreck.....I'm stoked on this product, just cost effective and convenient, also this turn my eye to buying into Battle Systems Fantasy, versus Warlock Tiles that I was so close to ordering.....just way less expensive this way, and just as much fun. =)

They called the Acrobat a Rogue because Acrobat was a Thief subclass in old D&D.

I'd use the cartoon guys as NPC's to use as "Get out of stupid decisions free" cards.
