I just love that color of the first hat (it’s def your color BTW- TY for the picture of you modeling that hat!) The 2nd!! What a surprise 😊❤ Those colors from the granny square yarn really pop!! Thank you for another outstanding tutorial, you are the best 😉👍
I saw the second hat ! I am just finishing one in a kind of sun washed yellow cotton mixed with shades of blue and it's looking great. I'm excited about starting a second one in a different yarn. Just haven't decided on colors. Thanks so much for sharing this pattern. I love yours tutorials and always look forward to what you will come up with next!
That's awesome! You're very welcome! I'm so glad to hear that you're enjoying the tutorials. Good luck with your color selection. As you know, it's everything! :)
What a cute hat! I just finished this-those single crochets seemed like they'd never stop! The end result is well worth it!😅 I had to go to a G instead of an H hook, though. Thanks so much for showing us this pattern!😃
Hahaha...thanks! Yes, you definitely have to just enjoy the process of crocheting or some projects will seem never-ending lol. I'm glad you were able to make the necessary adjustments for what you need. Thanks for writing me!
Both hats are nice. I like the softness of the cotton, but the stiffness of the Red Heart would hold it out of the eyes better. Thank you for the whole video
Thanks so much for watching 😉 I appreciate it a lot. By the way, I have something planned for how and where it falls, but I like it covering one of the eyes. You can shape it however you want.
It was so shocking to see you using the recommended 5mm hook. 😲😉 This is an intriguing pattern. Even as an experienced crocheter I will be challenging myself to make this. The flat slip stich braid is quite stunning and I have never used or seen it before. My OCD will be triggered when the stitch counts on the increase rounds do not end on their correct number, but I'll have to get over it. 😁 Thank you for taking the time to go over this pattern in detail. ❤ P.S. The lilac striped hat at the end was very cool. 👍👍
Thank you so much for watching! Yes, I kind of surprised myself with that hook choice but I didn’t want the hat to come out too big so I decided to stick with the suggested hook size for once. You already know that the J will be back soon 🤣 And yes, this type of pattern definitely requires patience and focus but I think the end result is definitely worth it. By the way, I’m sure you’ll be fine with the flat stitches. It’s just a matter of crocheting between the stitches. Towards the end, when you’re working with the single crochet stitches, you will basically still be “slicing the icing off the top of the cake” when working the flat stitches because you’re inserting the hook in the same area. Let me know if something doesn’t make sense. PS It also bothered me that some rounds didn’t end by completing the pattern, but it really doesn’t matter. As you know, the main thing is that the increase is happening. Let me know how it goes for you!🙂🙏🏾
"let me know if you saw the second hat" lol well here's me letting u know i did 😂 rly nice tutorial, the yarn w alternating colors rly does create very nice stripes on it. my mother has been working outside more and could use a hat so i think i know what my next project will be
New Sub here!!!!!!!!! I freaking love your video..... Clear, understandable, perfect voice, and step by step EASY.... THANK YOU VERY MUCH❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ WISH I COULD HIT THE THUMBS UP 1,000,000 TIME😊😊😊😊😊😊
Great video! Started learning to crochet on Friday and I’m almost done with the hat. I just have one question, I lose count on my stitches sometimes. Is there a way to regain count?
Thanks so much! If you lose count, just recount the stitches. That’s what I do if I get distracted. More important than the number of stitches for this hat is keeping the accurate pattern when working a round. I hope that helps!🙂🙏🏾
Yes I watched to the end I saw a striped hat that was very beautiful. I read directions on sparkly one she used cotton yarn on a cone not balls of yarn. This way she does not attach new yarn. I have made the hat with acrylic yarn but not a floppy it more like a bucket hat with a brim. I like the floppy. I have some string for crocheting I will try this pattern with that. I've crocheted a hat with string and it comes out really nice like straw hats in stores. String costs very little. Just need a smaller hook size. Try it it's fun.
At one point in her video, she also shows and says that you can use balls of cotton yarn. If that’s the case, you don’t need to purchase whole cone because you don’t need that much. Thanks for watching.
You explain next moves perfectly. Thank you for the proper guidance. 🌸
You’re welcome. I’m glad it’s helpful 🙏🏾
