I remember being stopped by Lowell, MA by PD. And I had Gi/Jiu-Jitsu Pants with no pockets. I had my firearm front appendix with no holster in my car. Argued with a cop insisting I needed a holster! I said no copper it's in control of the operator. He looked at me like I had 3 heads.
Let’s also clarify that a loaded gun means a firearm with a magazine containing one or more bullets that is inserted into the firearm. A bullet does not need to be chambered in order for the firearm to be considered loaded.
Great info as always hope there are lots more to come. did have one question . does this mean any hand gun or long gun with 10 or less rounds can be transported unlocked ?
Thank you for the useful information. I will be driving through MA on a future move to the state of Maine. I am not looking forward to this long drive for me. I'll be driving through Illinois, New York and Massachusetts. I'll be carrying a variety of long guns, handguns and miscellaneous firearm accessories. I'm hoping my drive through these anti-2a states is uneventful.
If a person has a MA LTC I understand that "Large Capacity" guns are OK to own. However any magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds is always illegal to own, even in your own home. Also, large capacity guns are illegal to own even if you have an LTC, unless they on a state created list of exceptions. Am I correct in my beliefs?
Submitted my ltc app in a red city for an unrestricted license. Wanted your thoughts on the recent scotus ruling that states repeal the “proper cause” requirement and how soon MA will abide by this ruling?
My LTC specifies large capacity. What I’ve read is that I can own and carry large capacity mags. But other sections seem to disagree with this. Is there a definitive source or answer?
Pass this on to your club. I just sent this to GOAL.

Good Interpretation and break down of the Law

Thanks as always. What about handguns on your person when you have to stop and enter a post office or other restricted location?
