    I'm currently demoing this racket and really enjoy it. I prefer it to my Strike 16 x 19 in every way and they are very similar is spec although the Radical is little lighter. I had tried the previous Radical and enjoyed it so was curious. I wanted to try something a little lighter than the Strike with a bigger grip size as I'm having to beef up my Strike grip a fair bit. The biggest differences for me is that the Radical feels more powerful, lighter to swing and gives me much more confidence in placing my shots and feels stiffer and possibly even more stable than the Strike. I was able to go for my shots more and exploit my opponents weaknesses. It was also very good on defence and the extra power helped be block back difficult balls and stay in rallies. I haven't volleyed much with it yet as I was really enjoying staying back and rallying with it. i did hit quite a few balls long but this was poor technique. My serve was far more consistent with the Radical and also accurate like with the ground strokes. I felt like there's plenty enough spin and I was getting a nice shape to my shots when I hit them well. I'm probably a 'mid table' intermediate player and I don't feel like this racket is too much racket for me. I would say it's a good choice for someone who's really progressing their intermediate game or a more advanced player.

    Previous font was better and white instead of navy would have been amazing. Sounds like Auxetic lets you raise the tension a bit, to give you more directional control, tone down the added pop, and enjoy that added stability

    Been using the Radical MP for 6 months and really liking it. Solid frame, good control, power, volleys, serve. Great all rounder. Only down side Ive noticed is lack of top spin. My forehands end up very flat and lack that nice loop. Recommend adding some weights and serve is deadly

    Great video! I am a 3.0 and I play single handed backhand with 2022 Radical Pro even tho it's not a regular single-handed backhand racquet. My ground strokes and serves felt a lot better than my previous Vcore 98. Volley though, the Vcore felt a lot maneuverable. Quick question, would you recommend changing to the new Radical MP? I'm kinda struggling between this, Babolat PS, Vcore Pro 97 and Blade V8😅

  • @hijikatakun000

    Excellent review as always!! Obviously I am not as good as the reviewers here, but I played with the Laver Radical and pretty much agree its a solid frame and offers forgiveness and a lot of help.😂 I think the extra 5g made the racquet not so head heavy and more manueverable.
    For the Laver Gravity, I am not sure if mine came overspec’ed but it felt so head heavy, like a sledgehammer lol. What string and tension would you put for the Laver Gravity (Gravity MP Auxetic) 😜. I was thinking Hawk Power at 45lb to start but I think Hawk Power is a tad bit stiffer than Hawk Touch.

    • @tennisviking
      @tennisviking  Год назад +1

      Thank you 👊 Yea, Hawk power or touch are good options for that frame, and yes, Hawk Power is slightly more stiff than touch, but not much…you could also do a hybrid of the two. I like both of those strings, but absolutely hate the regular Hawk 🤣 so whatever you do, don’t use that string. I would have tension around 42-45lbs, so yes, good options. I’ll do some customization on the new radical MP soon, so that’s should be interesting, will probably add another stick as well to compare for that video 👍

    • @hijikatakun000
      @hijikatakun000 Год назад

      @@tennisviking Recently got tennis elbow from using full poly, wasn’t sure is it cuz of the shaped poly or was it boom pros. Might have to go hybrid with gut or multi. Would you suggest Hawk Power as main or cross and at what tension would you suggest? I had my auxetic gravity 😜 strung at 45lb but the response was pretty firm and crisp.

    • @tennisviking
      @tennisviking  Год назад

      @@hijikatakun000 if you get elbow pain then definitely experiment with changes, first drop the tension quite a bit, always dampener in, and if still then hybrid, and if still then racket change…anyways, the main string will hit more of the ball, so ma y will use the poly in mains on a hybrid for example…some pros want the feel more, so they put a gut in mains and poly in crosses, but that will get expensive real quick. Try 40 lbs tension and see if you can get used to it, that should relieve some stress in the elbow. Personally if I did a hybrid, I would put a poly in mains and synthetic in crosses, mostly for durability. For now, I use full bed of poly around that 42-44 range, and dampener.

I’m looking at the VCore 95 and the PA 98, but this Radical MP is piquing my interest… it might fit my style better, not sure…. Need your perspective … Do you think that this Radical MP fits my style better than the other two… Ciao, John

    • @tennisviking
      @tennisviking  Год назад

      Hey John. Good question, and thanks for the info👍 Have you demoed any of them or just doing research for now? I actually think the PA 98 might be the best choice of the three for you. Just comfortable and good blend of power and control. I would rank the Rad MP as second pick: still some pop but not as much feel, and then the Vcore as third choice, which imo is just a mute line of rackets with little feel, plus the Vcore95 will have the least pop out of any of them. It’s not in my top 5, just a little too stiff for my liking. In regards to Head frames I have the Xtreme Tour and Boom Pro as my top choices. Since you are a maniac playing with the prestige, you might like the Rad MP, will have a little more action, and especially on the serve.
