It’s not a dirt rally it’ll be better it’s a wrc game. And we all know if the microtransactions make it unplayable then it’s just dead game from the start. But since this is all just cinematic and irl footage we know nothing since they showed zero actual game play aside from maybe a frame or two.

they could have, and would have, but with ea now in charge and the wrc licence i am skeptical. this game may just become a buggy yearly release for players that like to have the irl drivers and cars of each year, which i couldnt really care less about. im into the physics, actual driving, the locations, the graphics, the vr, the wheel support etc. we better not have to play career to unlock stuff, because with hundreds of hours into dr2.0 i have barely played career. its not my thing.

What are you on about? WRCG used Kylotonn's engine, it has nothing to do with it. This is Unreal Engine, to me it looks a lot more like DR 2.0 than WRCG.

Looks good so far. But my concerns about the stages... 600km is not much in 17 countries, there are only 35 km/country... as i know CM, they are counting backwards as standalone stage which reduce the stage/country to around 17km... :( Splittet into 2 stages we will have a 8-9km average each stage... this is not much for rallying... Hope i'm wrong and we will have real 35km/country which is anyway not there much.

@@Vemppu_Lutku I remember having a top 10 and a top 20 in two of the country's. The league was 12 races per month for 10 months I think. I started in the top 5000 but kept improving every month. It definitely was the most fun I had in all the sims I played so I have really high hopes for that new title.
That's because most of the competitors drop out, and don't even finish.

Not much was shown but two important take aways:
- The ttone sounds good, serious. I'ts not going arcade it seems.
- CLASSIC CARS!! (Im not surprised, CodeMasters already had those, why throw em away)
Personally the classic cars are the only fun ones to drive. Modern cars are just boring with their magic diffs and sequential transmissions. Just personal preference of course but I would never buy a rally game that only included modern cars.

Yeah, Stages & Cars pack DLC trading... it's a GO. I understand the excitement if it wasn't Electronic mArts directly involved, and since it's the current case, well..
Codemasters haven't made anything good since Dirt 2.0....and even that was recycled Dirt 1.0 content for outrageous price tags and worse detailed graphics...this will be bad, bet on my word...Codemasters aren't what they were in 5 years ago.

Hmmm... do we really need that kind of trailers in 2023? If that was 2003, maybe I would be impressed, and I would hoping for the game will not looks like a minecraft if the trailer looks so good graphically. But what was actually the purpose of this trailer? Yes we knew the Codemasters which become the part of EA sports develops rally game under the WRC licence, and we know the game must looks awesome and so it will be for sure. So why not to get to the point, and not to reveal the game a bit? It would give us much more emotion then this.
What a disappointment. Looks like another Kylotonn style game with PS3 level graphics. Looks bad. I was expecting more like a true Codemasters Dirt Rally style stuff and much, much better graphics. Not impressive. Not up to 2023 standards. Looks straight up copy and paste stuff. 🙃

The latter even more important, because car variety was a bit thin in the wrc games. And thats what I worry about the license. Because its not unusual that a license forces you to use season stuff only
Considering the old WRC titles also had classic cars, I think its likely we will see some.
Richard Burns Rally released 2004. Same flat graphics. Same spectators. Same fences. Same trees. We need hyper realistic Games in VR or 3D not this kind of Trash.

i mean, they did fk up the vr optimization for dirt rally 2.0 if you didnt have an oculus headset. but yeah. i hope this game has well optimized vr, because even with a 3080ti i still cant push the graphics very high in an old game like dirt rally 2.0, let alone a game launched in late 2023

Damn, this looks like Dirt with just a new name... and most likely not a sim but just a console/controller game again. Half the video is live footage, that's bad news... not a single mention of great features, innovations, new changes, etc... but make sure to "pre-order". LOL!!
The EA sports label is not very promising, but Dirt: Rally physics on Unreal Engine does sound very tempting. Consider me interested, but cautious.

Graphics seem to look significantly worse than DiRT Rally 2.0. Dirt on the car is one thing but even the vegetation at 1:19 looks very empty

why do the graphics look like there is no shadows or ambient occlusion? not to mention barely any foliage/ grass etc. low textured ground. i dont think its possible to argue that the graphics look worse than dirt rally 2.0, so far at least.

It's good to have new wrc cars, but since now you have all the DR2.0 old cars and the Totota license on this new Rally game... WE NEED the OLD CELICA AND the COROLLA!!
