- John Deere x739 removing snow with a 72" snow plow! It's been close to two years since I've made a snow plowing video with my John Deere x739 so I was eager to do it! I didn't think my chance would come so soon as we were only supposed to get a dusting of snow. However, that turned into about 7" in total and I plowed with over 5" on the ground. Lots of fun as usual and the 54" snow plow with 18" extensions made quick work of it. I wish I had more area to plow at my house! Thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoy this John Deere x739 snow plowing video!

Hello, I bought new a 2001 JD 425. It has only 540 hours. Still like new condition. I moved to west Michigan in snow belt area. Now I need a 54" snow blade. Found one on eBay like new!! With easy attachment and hydraulic hoses. Driving to west St. Louis next week Saturday to pick it up. Very excited. Can't wait to use it. Thanks for all you do. God bless!
Awesome man, I have had a few of those. Great machines!
The rear steering makes that machine perfect for tight spaces. It's also obvious the operator knows how to plow snow, great video!
Agreed! Well about the all wheel steering...the verdict is still out on that operator! Ha!
Best Tractor out of all the X700 series IMO
Agreed
@@allenlong3939 IMO it'd the best one because of the AWS 4x4 combination. While you give up some fuel savings not getting the X758 diesel model, the AWS makes up for that. The extra traction you get with the AWS being able to rock the back tires side to side is awesome. Just my opinion
Love to see a guy get seat time on his machine!! Thanks for sharing.
Come on snow, Our battle will never be the same 'cuz I got a "machine"
this year too.
Thanks Liff! Heck yeah, hope you get some quality seat time of your own soon!
Wow that works really well!
It works for you. It all in the operator. Love the 4 wheel steering
Thanks for watching Don!
That's a great little tractor. Love the 4 wheel turn. Cheers!
Thanks for stopping by GP! Have a great weekend!
Nice technique. I'm new to plowing on my X585 and my inexperience makes the job take much longer than it should. Going to give your method a try the next time we get snow.
Thanks! You'll get the hang of it in no time!
To the point demo! Great video with camera views.
Thanks for watching!
That tractor works great 👍🏻 thanks good video as usual
Thank you sir!
Nice machine
Thanks for watching!

Enjoyed watching Happy Holidays🚜👍🎅🎄
You as well Mark!
Awesome video! I have a husavarna with a 42 inch plow works great in the powder but only has two wheel drive and even with the chains it isn’t amazing in the wet snow. I love the four-wheel-drive, hydraulics, and quad steer you have!
Have you tried V-bar chains on your 2 wheel drive?
Hey you missed one big feature is throwing that handle all the way forward for float mode!! We have the 72inch blade for our X585 and its a monster! Next year I could see going to the one piece cutting edge too, we also got a 54 snowblower too for this season! Replaced a 15 year old 47 snowblower that was all rotted out!
Yeah, I had this bad boy in float probably 75% of the time. Super handy feature, that's for sure! I have definitely been thinking about a solid edge for the bottom.
That's a nimble tractor, it can maneuver very well in tight spaces!
Yes sir, really saves a lot of time by turning so tight
Any issues with the all wheel steer at all?
The problem with plowing vs snow blowing is you run out of room to put snow. Also past snow plowing banks get hard and dense and won’t budge. I’ve been using an ATV plow for a couple years on a long driveway in the UP of Michigan and I’m switching to snowblower just to throw it farther away from the drive without building up the huge banks of snow.
Correct, you have to plan ahead and some folks have more places to push snow than others.
Yep I had a jd 140 way back with the 54 inches blade And heavily weighted and could pile snow about 4 feet but you had to work at it
I hear ya!
Bam 1st - send it my way
Did you guys get a bunch over there? How's your underground weather guy been at predicting the snow lately?
@@GoodWorksTractors we have gotten dust of snow here and there. The SE Snow freak has been spot on for over this way. He will have a report later today about a possible snow maker next week. I'll keep you posted.
Nice, yeah this was bonus snow for us. Not really forecasted for our area, but lake effect can be unpredictable.
Can't figure out why you got rid of this setup! Just watched the video with the gator, that was a disaster. This setup is great for your home.
My grandpa has a very similar setup but with a blower
Nice!
Wish I got snow like that the most we've gotten in probably 15 to 20 years is about 5 in for the year maybe 10 for the entire year
I love it now, but definitely tire of it a couple months from now
Early in the frame at 5:20 you can see it hit the snow as it fell,
Good eye! 👍
@@GoodWorksTractors what fell i kept going back
Hey I watched your first one.. Love this tracker but can't afford it. More vids !!
Thanks Mac!
5:16 when you lost your gopro lmao
I found it! I was worried I might not until the snow melted, haha!
Lost your camera around 5:21 . You know how to use a blade . Some guys will push a full width of the blade and end up with wind rows all over the place and ending up going back over and over again . Take a bit less snow and you end up with a nice job . I cut my grass the same way . Don't use the entire width of the mower ending up with a cleaner cut .
Good eye Henry! Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Should’ve done the road for some more footage
Haha, there's always the next snow fall!
I’ve had these extensions on order for 8 months now (not through you, idk if you even sell them)… still no word on shipping… because it’s a real hard part to make… if I had a good way to roll the steel I’d have made my own by now…
It appears you don't need chains / terragrips for your drive. Still, I'm curious what you think about snow chains? I've got a set of chains for my X500... do you think the terragrips are as effective as old school chains, including on slopes? I'd like to find something that's easier to put on as well!
Im looking to upgrade my 1023e headlights to LED, any info on what works would be greatly appreciated thanks
Howdy, I recently did a video on that. Here's the link. Thanks for watching!

@@GoodWorksTractors Thanks!!
Will the 700 series make decent down force on the plow with the hydro’s?
Yes, good downpressure.
Looking for weights for my X739, do you have any?? I also need the bracket..
Howdy, unfortunately not. :(
It is more efficient to take small swaths. I had a boss prove it to me. We had spit a parking lot I was taking as big of bite as I could he took the small swaths and didn't have to go back to clean up. He beat me my 10 minutes with a strait blade than my V plow all tho I had stacked the piles higher and in deeper snow I could move through quicker and got stuck less than he did because I could push the snow both ways to start. I had the advantage of being able to push the snow to one side of a parking lot easier than he could.
That's a cool way to validate a method.
Nothing more frustrating than a bunch of windrows to "re-plow".
how much are those x700 series tractors?
Would you say the x739 is a heavy duty garden tractor in your opinion
Yes, I certainly would call it a heavy duty garden tractor.
Good Works Tractors one more question what do you really think it’s made for like it’s in the middle of a 500 and 10r series so what’s it best? 🤔
Correct
Good Works Tractors what’s it best at doing tho?
They're great at mowing and plowing :)
Do you think your 72 inch plow would be faster then a 47 inch snow blower I have the x739 with a 47 inch blower I plow for a living sometimes I have big parking lots I also have a 8 foot western plow but bad thing is people dont want snow taking up places in driveways
Cool video.....ya gotta get your "video volume" turned up louder, sounding a bit quiet on the laptop here.
Yeah, I struggle with audio a lot.
How much was just the blade?
how heavy are the weights in total?
i could do that driveway with my hand shovel in 10min.. you need such a big machine .. you better do the whole neighborhood.
This is my smallest machine. Wait until you see the bigger ones. You're really gonna lose your mind! 🤣
DMP Me I have a similar size driveway. I’d love to see you shovel it with 24” of snow and 30-36” drifts in 10 min. lol
@@eddevarona8448 just need a little coffee, and watchout!
DMP Me - lol. I tried mine with a little snow thrower our first year here. After about 6 hrs. I went out and bought an X485 garden tractor and a 47” blower. I told my wife it was either that or move again lol
Was that a Reynolds Farm Equipment sticker on that JD? That's in Fishers Indiana, arent you in MI?
Yeah. I do business with dealers all over the country.
@@GoodWorksTractors They are only an hour from me. Had a friend work in the repair shop there. Small world
Nice. Yeah, they do have quite a few locations as well.
Did you find your camera
Haha yes I did!
What's the price for a unit like this
It was around $15,000 with the mower, bagger, and plow
@@GoodWorksTractors thanks for the info good video keep bringing some more
What’s the price for this Machine
Is that a Boykin Spaniel?
She's a Field Spaniel
Could not hear a word you said. My volume turned all the way up too!
Chris, you frequently comment about the audio. It's a little low, I don't know how to fix it, but it's not that bad. I simply can't afford to invest more in audio equipment right now, so making due with what I have. Sorry to disappoint.
No problem, just sending along in case you didn't know. Will not send anything when it is volume OK?
I just need a solution 🤣
Why snow plow over snow blow?
Several reasons for me...
Cheaper.
I've got a wide pad area near my garage where a blower wouldn't shoot far enough or just shoot onto another area of my drive.
Lots of smaller snows that are light and fluffy which blowers don't work well. Blade handles all conditions.
WOW!
That is impressive! Flat ,paved,5" of snow. You could do that with pretty much any cheap tractor with a plow
🤣
Yes, of course.
I say it’s lost at 5:22
Nice work!
Camera pushed off by snow at 5:20 or about that.
Bingo
did you use your security cameras for the video?😂
Heck yeah, why not? 👍
5:21
Spot on!
4
Good afternoon bud
@@GoodWorksTractors Howdie !! 30 miles separates us and i have less than inch of snow in 2 days :(
Seems the text is up longer Thank You .
Glad you noticed!
Camera fell off completely at 5:20 into the video
I'm not sure what the definition is of an articulated vehicle. I always thought that it was two different units that were connected by a pivot point. The tractor your using appears to be one unit but both the front and back tires steer independently. Is this also considered an articulated vehicle?
I consider it articulating in the broad sense of the term. Whether it is officially or not, I'm not sure.
I would say no. Articulating kind of implies a point on the machine where the front and rear sections steer/pivot from. Search for articulating dump truck, or most any wheel loader. That will give you a better idea about what is known/ meant by an articulating vehicle imo
Nice little tractor but it is 4 wheel steering not articulated. Articulated means wheels do not turn but instead the chassis pivots in the center. Nice machine none the less 👍🏻
Jerry 👍
Jacob O 👍
what's this setup cost roughly?
I'd have to check my old invoice, but I think a little over $15,000 with mower, plow, and bagger.
Hope you feel better
Ya lost your camera at 5:20
12 in snow storm , foget about it .
Exactly. This thing will chew up 12" easy 😉
Just take a smaller bight and it will do fine. I’ve had one for 9 years works great
