- This will be a quick comparison between the two sound modes/voices on the Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker Set - both the neck and the bridge pickup, and both combined.
Here's what Fishman says about the neck and bridge pickup:
NECK
Voice 1 (Modern Active): The ideal active alnico sound. Full, round, and boosted, but with unprecedented articulation and dynamics.
Voice 2 (Crisp, clean and fluid): The clean, crisp neck humbucker tone you’ve always wanted without the thin, plinky sound you don’t.
BRIDGE
Voice 1 (Modern Active High Output):The ideal active ceramic humbucker tone. Crisp, searing crunch, tight bass with no mud, and a growl.
Voice 2 (Modern Passive Attack): Organic, high output, passive ceramic tone. Superb distortion characteristics with Fluence dynamics and response.
Guitar is an ESP LTD M-1007HT, which I made a review of recently, check out my videos for that!
Oh and please subscribe ;-)
I was looking alot of guitars with fishmans, until i found out that the battery life on them is… not very good. I remember it was like 250 hours!? That for me is a dealbreaker. I believe EMG’s are 2000 hours for a single pickup and then 1000 for 2. (Might have been 3000 and 1500 not sure)
Edit: they do still Sound Great though.
I really like the growl on the passive voice. The bends at the 1:31 section.
Badass demo, dude!
Great comparison
They're both super usable tones. I'm surprised the active was decent on clean. since I thought it'd be too bright but it was surprisingly smooth sounding.
