As someone who has been fascinated with gymnastics for so many years, I can tell WHY MINA WINS this and SHE TOTALLY DESERVES IT. For gymnastics, especially rhythmic gymnastics, it is not a sport that only compares which routine has the hardest difficulty, but you also count the artistic side, which includes the use of music and body movement. I have to be honest that mina does not have the hardest skills, but the way she dances and all her movements are so far the best among all contestants. Her legs are always straight whenever she performs a splite, a spin or whatever skill, which is a very important thing in gymnastics; gymnast do get marks deducted whenever they bend their legs Also, her performance is smooth and confident, that is another important part of a gymnastics performance. I am not here to say who should win and who deserves more, because gymnastics itself is already an extremely tiring sport and I am sure everyone has tried their best. I hope everyone please respect all contestants and stop all fan wars. THANKS.

Mina did really well though :) she may not be the best at gymnastics (since she specialises in ballet which is a little different) but in this performance she did the best in terms of execution. She made it look really smooth and I really enjoyed it

While other members went home for their small break (with the exception of Momo), Mina went to the JYP building to practice her routine and i'm assuming she probably practiced her routine every day off that she got. Her knees were all bruised up and she even asked Jihyo for bandages one time. Of course ONCEs didn't even want her to participate in Rhythmic Gymnastics again because of seeing her cry last time but Mina made it clear that she wanted to prove herself. What could we do then but to stand beside our Minari and support her 😪❤️ The point is, even if Mina hadn't won gold, ONCEs would've still been proud and happy for Mina as long as she was content and happy about her performance herself. All of you suddenly "rhythmic gymnastics" experts should learn to be happy and support your own faves instead of wasting time to tear down this girl. Doing that isn't going to suddenly bring your faves up 🤗

I watched the other performance after seeing the negative comments here... it's pretty obvious the other girl made a ton of mistakes, there should be no argument over it whatsoever.
Seriously Mina had a mishap last year and everybody made fun of her. She had one of the most difficult performance last year and Once's never complained about how her score should've been higher for that. The thing is the judges deduct points as you make mistakes. No matter how hard, how unique, how beautiful your performance was if there were multiple mistakes points will be deducted. Man I love how suddenly over night everyone is a sports judge.
I can't believe Thrice, AND other groups' fandoms are hating on Mina! She could've made a mistake right in front of the camera, but guess what? She didn't! It's fair that she won, and it's not like she has magical powers where she can force the perfection. It doesn't just take a smile to do your best. You can see her effort. Gyuu nyū all of their performances were weak and boring if you want to look at it from a professional rhythmic gymnastics point of view. this aint hip hop or pop where the person witht the fanciest gimmicks “deserves to win”. mina’s technique was cleaner and she did no mistake. chengxiao attempted tricks and failed, despite her performance being more exciting. they were both awarded fair and square.

As a gymnastics student, I'd like to say that her performance was a very easy one and that she really didn't utalize the ball as much as she could have. It was a beautiful performance, but very easy. Thats why there was no mistakes. The new student at the studio I go to could do it. Don't get me wrong, I loved the performance, but I wish it was harder and more challenging than what it was. I feel like it was an easy win by using such easy tricks.
St Best Its not a tatic. Its a cheat. Performers should do harder tricks and movements. Only slackers use the easy route. That is what I have been taught. If you want to impress the judges, push your limits. Show them that you want to win. Taking it easy= either being lazy or not caring. Or both. My teacher said if someone takes the easy route they are cheating by not pushing and being simple. I know Mina had limited time to pratice and what not since she also has group activites, but she could have done much better. Also I have done some judging at my studio since we hold mini prep contests and compatitions. All the judges(other senior students with a lot of experience) that I was judging with prefered to watch performers try hard and make a mistake here and there rather than take it easy for the win.
Well, of course, the GYMNASTICS student at your studio could do it. Mina, on the other hand, has no gymnastics background. She's just an idol who practiced really hard despite TWICE's tight and busy schedule. Besides, I doubt she was the one who created her routine. She just did her best with what was given to her. And she did it excellently. But I appreciate you for not just blindly hating on her like the others. Kudos!
Pattyyy The new student has only been at the studio for 2 weeks, so she is very unexprienced. Mina on the other hand has dance history which helped her. But thats not the point. I love Mina and Twice so I'd never hate her. I just wish the performance was harder- given to her or not. Also I wish she used the ball more. I feel like it was kinda just there to toss up a bit. There are a lot more things she could done with it to make the performance more interesting.

Can we stop fighting on who should've won for a minute and congratulate all of these ladies for their awesome routines?! These beautifully talented ladies went out there with their heads held high and performed in front of tons of their peers and fans. I've tried rhythmic gymnastics before and couldn't handle it. I'm a HUGE klutz and literally trip over air and going up the steps. Plus, when facing competitions that crap is nerve wracking and I cracked under pressure more than once. These ladies and anyone else that has done rhythmic gymnastics deserve a huge pat on the back. It's not just 'throwing a ball' and 'twirling stuff', there's much more to it and it's time people started to realize that.
Mina, that smile on your face is everything for me. Last year, after an almost perfect rehearsal, you made mistakes on the actual performance, my heart hurt so much. But this time round despite some mistakes on the rehearsal you kept your head up, didn't let that get to you, and performed confidently with a smile in the actual performance. I couldn't be more proud of you my little Penguin! Keep it up, this was beautiful. You are learning and growing as a person and taking everything in your stride, that is the most important thing, Love you :)

It took so much courage for her to go back and do it again after what happened before. That's why she is my favorite from Twice. Through all the stress, anxiety and pain she still wanted to do it.

Why can't some people accept the fact that Mina won fair and square? Yall might have your own references but this was a relatively clean and solid performance. Just because many of you have a prejudice against twice doesn't mean that yall should deny their legitimacy.

While other members went home for their small break (with the exception of Momo), Mina went to the JYP building to practice her routine and i'm assuming she probably practiced her routine every day off that she got. Her knees were all bruised up and she even asked Jihyo for bandages one time. Of course ONCEs didn't even want her to participate in Rhythmic Gymnastics again because of seeing her cry last time but Mina made it clear that she wanted to prove herself. What could we do then but to stand beside our Minari and support her 😪❤️
The point is, even if Mina hadn't won gold, ONCEs would've still been proud and happy for Mina as long as she was content and happy about her performance herself. All of you suddenly "rhythmic gymnastics" experts should learn to be happy and support your own faves instead of wasting time to tear down this girl. Doing that isn't going to suddenly bring your faves up 🤗

Seriously Mina had a mishap last year and everybody made fun of her. She had one of the most difficult performance last year and Once's never complained about how her score should've been higher for that. The thing is the judges deduct points as you make mistakes. No matter how hard, how unique, how beautiful your performance was if there were multiple mistakes points will be deducted. Man I love how suddenly over night everyone is a sports judge.

Gyuu nyū all of their performances were weak and boring if you want to look at it from a professional rhythmic gymnastics point of view. this aint hip hop or pop where the person witht the fanciest gimmicks “deserves to win”. mina’s technique was cleaner and she did no mistake. chengxiao attempted tricks and failed, despite her performance being more exciting. they were both awarded fair and square.

As a gymnastics student, I'd like to say that her performance was a very easy one and that she really didn't utalize the ball as much as she could have. It was a beautiful performance, but very easy. Thats why there was no mistakes. The new student at the studio I go to could do it. Don't get me wrong, I loved the performance, but I wish it was harder and more challenging than what it was. I feel like it was an easy win by using such easy tricks.

St Best Its not a tatic. Its a cheat. Performers should do harder tricks and movements. Only slackers use the easy route. That is what I have been taught. If you want to impress the judges, push your limits. Show them that you want to win. Taking it easy= either being lazy or not caring. Or both. My teacher said if someone takes the easy route they are cheating by not pushing and being simple. I know Mina had limited time to pratice and what not since she also has group activites, but she could have done much better.
Also I have done some judging at my studio since we hold mini prep contests and compatitions. All the judges(other senior students with a lot of experience) that I was judging with prefered to watch performers try hard and make a mistake here and there rather than take it easy for the win.
Well, of course, the GYMNASTICS student at your studio could do it. Mina, on the other hand, has no gymnastics background. She's just an idol who practiced really hard despite TWICE's tight and busy schedule. Besides, I doubt she was the one who created her routine. She just did her best with what was given to her. And she did it excellently.
But I appreciate you for not just blindly hating on her like the others. Kudos!

I really have a special place in my heart for Mina. She is different and i love her.
Can we stop fighting on who should've won for a minute and congratulate all of these ladies for their awesome routines?! These beautifully talented ladies went out there with their heads held high and performed in front of tons of their peers and fans. I've tried rhythmic gymnastics before and couldn't handle it. I'm a HUGE klutz and literally trip over air and going up the steps. Plus, when facing competitions that crap is nerve wracking and I cracked under pressure more than once. These ladies and anyone else that has done rhythmic gymnastics deserve a huge pat on the back. It's not just 'throwing a ball' and 'twirling stuff', there's much more to it and it's time people started to realize that.

not a once or a thrice or whatever but on an unbiased pov, I think people are saying Mina's perf is not deserving of a gold award is despite the no mistake perf is that we should consider that stunt difficulty and creative dance choreography is also given points. people are not dismissing her hard work, they are just stating the facts.
