@@pudim3113 yeah I spent like 10 minutes trying to find her online when I read the book because I loved it so much. Then found out she doesn't exist lol
It's slow and late night and American, and there's a bit that keeps coming round when Judy sings: "Never let me go... Oh baby, baby... Never let me go..." (No there isnt)
I just finished reading the book and can not stop thinking about all that emotions that I feel right now. I listen to this song and see how Katie is dancing with the pillow in her room in Halshame. I have never thought about such things that there are people who are just born to donate their organs and their lives to save other people's lives. And that’s so true… but nobody talks about it louder. It’s like a secret that knows everyone, but none of us is supporting such people to survive. Anyway… a beautiful song with an amazing melody.
Now I know the name of the book comes from this song! Am reading this book right now, love so much of Kazuo's telling the story in a reminiscing tone and this name of the book.
JUDY BRIDGEWATER IS NOT REAL! This song is sung by JANE MONHEIT, Written by LUTHER DIXON. The woman pictured on the cassette tape in the movie is British actress - RAE BAKER. So the tape was created for the movie only, by the Art department. And another thing, this movie was very well acted, but the story and ending is so depressing, JUST RUN AWAY, DON'T GIVE YOUR ORGANS AWAY!!
The way they've ben trained to think... would never allow that to happen. Remember they have no idea of what rebellion is. Plus they had tracking devices in their hands
GreatVideos they were raised to help others live and their staying helped a lot of others live. I don't see how running away is a braver option, though.
fascinating the main character who tries so hard to remember everything accurately, gets this wrong no mention of baby in the song?! indication she has a soul?
Good film but far fetched, loves young dream could have simply driven off into the sunset together at the end, who would have stopped them or found them :)
aurelia540 I liked the movie solely for that unique spin. How many times have we watched them drive off into the sunset? Sure we all wanted that, but this different ending was truly refreshing.
I think the reason they don't get a happy ending is because that would cheapen the beauty, poignancy, tragedy, and the intensity of their story. The whole reason we view their narrative as precious is because of how ephemeral it truly is.
I'm here because of the book, thanks to Kazuo. :)

I'm pretty sure Kathy H. says she IMAGINES the singer is singing about a baby.
I heard that they recreated the song for the movie, and that this may not be the original
