It was an absolute privilege to share time with yourself and Ash Jones last week.👍 Thank you so much. This video is a well presented, no nonsense, review. You certainly put these Clarks Atticus boots to the test and I am pleased they did not disappoint. I like the the colour and style and will definitely add them to my shopping list. Thank you for the advice about sizing. I always believe in trying footwear on before purchase. My feet are an `E' width fitting and I have often resorted to purchasing leather insoles at the same time to improve the fit. As for price point, I don't think £90 is outrageously expensive in today's terms. It is a shame that the manufacturing of these boots has been exported abroad (an awful lot of clothing is today) but quality control is clearly still well up to spec. I look forward to you doing more reviews of this kind.👍😊

Thank you so much for your kind words John. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video and found the review helpful. It was indeed a pleasure to spend time with both yourself and Ash. I'm glad the information about sizing was useful, and it's great to hear that the Clarks Atticus boots are on your shopping list. I appreciate your perspective on the price point and about the manufacturing. Your feedback is invaluable, and I look forward to bringing you more reviews in the future. If you have any specific requests or questions, feel free to let me know. Happy shopping, and thanks for your continued support dear friend👍🙂

I stopped in at the Clark Outlet northeast of me here in Ohio and the equivalent boots here are still being made in their PA factory

Hi Alan, that is interesting to know. Clarks are struggling at the moment and I would not be surprised to see them go out of business. A shame to see yet another UK heritage brand go. Glad you enjoyed the video and lovely to hear from you again👍🙂

Hi there, yes Barbour broke into the shoes and boot market a several years ago to wide there business range, they do a boot very similar called the Readhead chukka boot, but its retail price is at £129 a pair and there are not dissimilar to the Clarks Atticus. you did well to get them for £90and nubuck is a nice material as well👍🙂

Wonderful review Chris. It seemed you had a wet stay in London. I am glad you could clean the boots so easily. I think I had not been so brave to go into the rain with suede boots. I had taken my trusted Thursday boots.

Hi Kay, the weather wasn't great, but it did provide me with the idea conditions to test the boots in adverse conditions and made the review much wide than just how the look in nice weather and how the felt on. Not many reviews would test for wet weather and how the clean up afterwards. I'm intrigued to find out what your Thursday boots are? 👍🙂

Fair review Chris. Five years back, l spotted a similar pair of Clarks in a local shop. Shiny leather british tan upper, goodyear welted leather and hard rubber soles. I believe they are discontinued. I picked up the last pair on clearance for $30. With a high polish they work with anything except a suit. Those suede jobs are just the thing to add some variety to that sort of look. Thanks for the idea.
    Cheers 👍

Hi Douglas, glad you enjoyed the video, it sounds like you got a bargain there $30. Another brand to look out for is a South African company called Veldskoen. Lovely to hear from you again and getting inspiration from this video👍🙂

I’ve always had immediate luck with Clarks but not long-term. At first they are stylish, comfortable and have received many compliments( taupe with black jeans). After a few weeks they started to become misshapen, less comfortable and dirty. The older I become, the more I recommend adding some sort of comfort insoles. I hope you find long term happiness with them.

Hi there, I get were you are coming from, I tend to waterproof suede before I even go out of the house to help repel the dirt right from the get go. I bought these especially for the video and to test them in real life situations, the rainy days really helped with the testing. I was surprised they dried so well, as for there longevity - who can tell, I will track there progress and review how they are performing and whether or not they maintain there shape. I would note that there are other similar brands out there with similar styles you might try👍🙂 Lovely to hear from you again and thank you for your comments👍🙂

    Great video, Chris.
It was a pleasure meeting you (on numerous occasions, as it turned out!) in London. You were singing their praises on Friday morning, so I'm glad they continued to impress, even in that horrendous weather. I agree with you about the price, but in all fairness, I only tend to buy Clarks during their sales anyway. But if they are that comfy from new, I'll definitely be keeping my eye on them. I get your point about the Indian manufacturer, but, unfortunately, unless you are prepared to drop rather a lot of money on your footwear these days, it is going to be made abroad...

Hi Ian, great to see you again and it was great catching up with you on the get together and in the UJC. I would say the best plan is to buy shoes from Clarks during a sale. I guess it depends on how much a person is p0repared to pay for their footwear. Clarks are struggling at the moment, and their future is in question. There are other brands and you are right they are more expensive but they will last longer are are cost effective in the long run, but care of them is paramount 👍🙂 Glad you enjoyed the video and see you soon at the next meeting of the Navana Club 👍🙂

I wear them a lot mainly because I live in a more rural area and because they are very hard wearing, providing a reasonable level of waterproofness. Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for your comments👍🙂

Great looking chucka boot Chris. Sounds like you had a good experience with them. What do you use on suede for water proofing? Would like to see what you think of waxed jackets like Barbours. Cheers Ron

Hi Ron, great to hear from you and glad you enjoyed the video. I just used a standard waterproof aerosol spray, in this case by Timpson's. I am going to do a video in the spring about rewaxing a wax jacket, so I'll look into covering wax jackets in general and my views on it. Thanks for the suggestion 👍🙂

With regard to Clark's shoes now being manufactured in India, Vietnam etc. I think it is time to look for alternatives, made in the UK, shoes and boots. And here I've come across JADD shoes, first class shoes, fully made in the UK, and reasonably priced as well. And the jobs stay in the UK!

Hi Adrian, Jadd Shoes make good shoes, and boots, they are not far from me in Rendlesham, near Woodbridge. I'll have to pop over and see them sometime. 👍🙂
