I just ordered an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super. Insane power. Coming from a 2080. I use an RTX 3060 12GB for Stable Diffusion and Flux image generation on a Linux server. Love Nvidia cards.
@@ryry0074 Nvidia isnt what it use to be, my first card was the 1070 and new cards are no where near what they use to be like, its quite sad. Worst part is they charge us much more for giving us less and less. My next build im def going 9800x3d and 7900 xtx, cant stand Nvidia anymore, especially offering a 16 gb 5080, at least rumored
4090 belongs in its own category tbh relative to everything that is there. Either at the very top (very capable AI and production performance for a fraction of the price of other solutions) or very bottom (as it costs ~$2k for performance most people won't really be able to use if they are just gaming).
fr, im so happy with my 4090. ive owned every nvidia top end gpu in the last 10 years and the 4090 has satisfied me the most of any card. price not in the question, its literally the best card we have ever had. no idea why people hate on it.
When you mod skyrim with 8K textures and increase the terrain LOD resolution and view distance. I've seen that game use 20 GB of my 7900 XTX's VRAM lol
Interesting. I used to have a 3090 and rarely say over 12gb of usage, (i play at 4k) although i had a scenario once in Halo infinite where it climbed to 19gb. Seemed like it was just using it because it was there, because on my 16gb 4080 i don't have any issues with the same settings.
i feel like you did just a bit dirty to the 6650 xt, didn't check used priced like the RX7600, and compared it to the 2070 super which is 8% slower, and not to the 7600/4060 which are only 2% faster. I might be biased since i got one on a deal, but i 'been following prices since then and it has been switching places between with the 7600 depending on the current deal. When i bought them a year ago, it was like $30 cheaper than the 7600, and $70 than the 4060, so it was a no brainer in that price bracket
TechPowerUp never actually tested the RX 6700. Speed ranking goes like this: 6600-6600XT-6650XT-7600-6700-7600XT-6700XT. Tomshardware GPU hierarchy is much more accurate.
I would tottaly have an A770 right now, but I still play classic games about half the time. If you only play DX12 games A770 is great. I just picked a 3080 up (Zotac) for $330 for a friends build.
Hey man, I watched the whole video. I have an RTX 2070 Super and I'm thinking of upgrading, but I don't want to spend crazy money. Any recommendations? Also, I want to stick with DLSS features.
the 4060 needs to be B or A-Tier. Sure everyone exspected more than it was when it came out but the card still has (rare) usecases for RT or DLSS3 where it´s miles better than a 7600 (xt) or a 6700 with superior image quality compared to FSR which is especially noticable at 1080p where most people use those cards. Also it is great for small form factor builds and it has a lower power draw compared to equivalent amd cards such as 7600 or 6650xt (which also have 8GB Vram lol). Sure more performance and more VRAM would have been nice on the 4060 but it´s as competitive as the 7600 or 6650xt with a better feature set and better RT performance (although this rarely does matter i admit).
@@TimisDaniel there are like zero usecases where you need 12GB of VRAM on a card as slow as the 3060. This is so dumb. Unless you have workloads or play with a unholy ammount of mods or terrible settings (like ultra textures and the rest low) you will never utilize more than 8GB on the 3060.
This has to be in places some of the worst advice for some of these cards, the 7900 XTX can do ray tracing well in some titles and of course it will never perform like a 4080 would in heavy ray tracing titles but to say some of these cards are as bad as his commentary is not good advice. Some things he points out are very valid but if you take this advice then make sure you validate it with other sources as it is pretty subjective tbh.
All I am saying is if you are spending $800+ on a gpu, things like DLSS and good ray tracing start to really matter. I wouldn’t buy a xtx over a 4080 super personally
@@SiliconSteak Ya I get that but you are presuming ray tracing matters. I think the better question is if you spend $800 dollars on a GPU do you think ray tracing matters given the performance hit for using it and you feel the impact to your gaming experience is valid enough vs just buying into marketing hype. RT is cool for sure though I just think the cost to frame rate is too high to really use without turning on an upscaler.
Let’s be real. We are talking about someone who is spending $800 on one PC part to make their game look better. Ray tracing (and image quality, e.g. DLSS) matters here
@@SiliconSteak Yes I agree it does matter to a degree, but not all applications of ray tracing are equal. A game like cyberpunk can really showcase ray tracing that is utilized well but in other games they don't equal the same level of detail or immersion. So it really depends on how you will use RT and the performance decrease if someone thinks it's worth it.
@@SiliconSteak Honestly have you even tried a 7900xtx? I have tried both RTX 4080 and 7900xtx and at the end sold my Nvidia card and stayed with the AMD card. There's more small details people neglect. These cards don't have microstutters and much higher 1% lows. You have to feel it yourself.
im stuck on a 3070ti ive been waiting to see what would be a worthwhile upgrade from it, what would anyone recommend? i only really care about maximum settings at 1440p. right now i only get about 70-100+ fps in real demanding games but i want my averages to be more around constant 100+ fps rather than dipping lower at times, i know i could just change settings and reach that but im just tired of the performance im getting.

7800 XT in B tier? wtf. It should have been A at least. It's not good leap in performance from previous gen, but the pricing is pretty good for what it offers. Compare it with the 7700XT which is 50 bucks less, see the problem? If you don't, then you are blind. Best AMD cards this generation were 7800XT and 7900 GRE.
RX 6800XT is better than RTX 3080 honestly. 16GB vram is absolytely future proof and RX use less power too. Ray tracing of course is THE nvidia thing, but I personally would take ray tracking 4070+ cards.. IMO. For examble If and when GTA 6 lands on PC that Amd vram is more than needed.
@@Tomijee For me DLSS is more future proof. I would rather spend $100 less and get a rx6800 for $300-$350 than pay $400 for a rx6800xt when I could get a 3080 for that price.
