great video thank you , I noticed on the gen 1 the air gap at the top is 120mm , I don't suppose you know what the air gap for the 2009 gen 2 is if possible , I've got to do seals and I've seen a few people saying different levels like 95mm / 110mm / 120mm . I did read the gen 2 takes 532ml and 95mm air gap but I'm still unsure what to go with
@@bccapone837 110mm on the 09 is recommended height. You can use 95 or 120 for tuning and gaining minor differences in response. You can also use different fluid weights to achieve different feel in other aspects as well. And you have hard mechanical adjustments as well. Lots of (not wrong) was to set up, tune, and or adjust suspension. However I would recommend if you are doing it yourself and don’t have the back ground in tuning to choose something different based on a specific rider need, that you stick to the recommended.
It’s sitting in the outer tube on top of the first pushing when I reassemble. Recheck the video. You can see it. This set of forks are still going strong thousands of miles later
@@LILHenryRecords couldn’t find one. I’m does appear that on camera I never put it on but as the whole video is edited I can assure you, it got put on. I may have had to remove and reassemble, but had that washer been missed in completion the forks would have leaked within two weeks of being ridden. They have not
It’s not the first time I made a mistake while videoing. Sadly. Usually I catch it and am able to edit the correct procedure in. I make mistakes, but I catch them.
Basically. Refresh, replacement, oil and seals. If you must be picky those might be more accurate. I guess if it was damaged and replaced parts I could call it a rebuild. The video would be essentially the same. I could do one of those too
I wish I watched this before I put all the new seals back on. I put the retainer washer wrong way it started to leak. Thanks for the video.
Finally a video that gets to the point 🦾🦾🦾
Great video thanks clear and concise explanation of the process!
The excellent video makes the job easy for others to follow, keep up the videos!
did you forget the square/round washer? Looked like it was still on the bench after you put the seal in...
Sean that’s for the other fork 👍
I've done mine plenty of time but didn't need all these tools he does it right tho

It’s been pointed out. It got put it, but it just got missed in the edit
Time to drop my baby off at the shop smh.
I want to see the shock tool
Thank you 😊😊
I built it, maybe you can see it better in some of my other videos?
Are the gen2 forks the same?
essentially. minor differences but this video will still help you with all the fine point. wrench sizes and fork oil level might be different.
you would be wrong. I'll need the full monty.
I don’t understand what your trying to say
You didn't put your washer back on....
It’s on there. The washer your seeing is for the other tube.

But you forgot put that ring.befor
Yeah, it seems I didn’t get it on video sadly, but I was put in before the forks went back on the bike
Rebuild? This isn't just a replacement?
