Fantastic looking pond. That filtered sunshine is really perfect there. Also that last shot of the underwater cave was good. Looks like he likes that spot
@@Alligator.commonsnappers yea, Dan, Christian and I worked hard to replicate the stream into deep pool and undercut bank habitat that the males typically are found in, and Tony utilizes it just like a wild AST
I have an AST that is 8 yrs old and am wondering what mollusks you feed him? I feed mine mostly raw shrimp(with the shell on) and mix in occasionally, various fish fillets, just a little chicken, and when I can do it, live fish from our local creek.
@@GregsTurtleHaven Thanks for replying! May I ask where you source these? I've thought about getting clams at the grocery store, but I wonder if they're not too hard or the right 'type'? I bought some snails from a pond supplier hoping I could breed them. Thanks!
@@tsukubai081808 the little neck and cherry stone clams I buy from the grocery store, but the turtle needs to be at least 10lbs to be able to crush them. You can also feed the small Asiatic Corbicula clams, which are also easy to breed
@@GregsTurtleHaven OK. He's 12.8 lbs. and quite feisty! I'll try those soon. I'm hoping to build an outdoor pond next year but I don't feel I'll leave him outside over the winter. It gets very cold at times here (Central PA). Thanks so much for taking the time to reply,
