xXWilmelXx It's a great game too but there are annoying levels in Jak 3 too but there comes a moment when all the missions available are retarted hard.
The entire trick was to carefully navigate the entire area with the Blaster Rifle equipped and snipe every last KG troop before going for the ropes. Trying to plow through it otherwise is ridiculous.
***** Me too, even though I know how to speed through it on the jet board, it still takes me a dozen times to beat it, even though I've beaten the game several times in one sitting
I also think #2 is the hardest but #1 is the hardest in hero mode. The reason why I am saying this is because in Hero Mode, you can actually make missions easier with early access to Infinite Dark Jak and Invincibility. This was the only mission I can recall where Dark Jak, Invincibility are useless.
I found Onin's minigame to be one of the easiest missions. You get enough seconds look at the symbols and to press the buttons, and the order doesn't matter as long as you press them all.
Not hard. You just can't get Daxter tired because he's like an overheat bar. Once you get him tired from him spamming the buttons, he won't respond and you'll miss the metal heads.
I remember having hell with a bunch of these missions when I was a kid. Jak 2 was definitely one of, if not the hardest game I've ever played through. I'm surprised there are people here calling it easy.
@@z00mer Or because we revisited it as adults out of nostalgia and realized that it's not as hard as we remember. There were so many missions that I struggled for hours on as a kid that I beat first try in my recent playthrough. In fact, the only escort mission that I lost was the one where samos and samos are moving the rift. That took me 3 attempts. Oh, and the third sewer mission, but it wasn't hard by any means; you just gotta stick with the 3 guys and use your guns intelligently. Escort missions were the bane of my existence as a kid, but they weren't a problem at all this time. What I _did_ have an issue with is the checkpoint system and the driving physics. A lot of the checkpoints are put at extremely stupid places, and a lot of the missions are inconsistent with how they go about saving your progress mid-mission. The drill platform egg mission doesn't make you redo egg blasting sections, but the mission where you have to find and kill 30 metalheads in a large open area doesn't. On top of that, the checkpoint system doesn't save your ammo, so whatever ammo you had at the time of your death carries over to the next attempt. The devs try to clumsily fix this by putting ammo crates near every checkpoint, but the net effect is that when you run out of ammo, you end up having to collect crates and kill yourself for several minutes to replenish your stuff. This also has the negative side effect of rendering the peace maker useless, because if you form a strategy around the weapon, you HAVE to succeed on the first attempt or you'll waste the ammo and be unable to use it. As for the driving physics, they don't make sense. They implemented motorcycle racing physics into antigrav vehicles. It would have been so much more fun had they emulated WipEout instead. That combined with the two races against Errol being poorly designed or unfair left me deeply dissatisfied with the game's racing overall. The second race is unfair but it's not hard at all, you just use the shortcuts and don't crash. But the fact that you _have_ to use the shortcuts to begin with is what sucks. The ring race is just bad imo. I'm all for spontaneous races but ffs design a proper race track first. IMO the bigger issue is the checkpoint system. It creates many tedious situations that could've been avoided with better checkpoint placement. Do not mistake tedium for difficulty. If you can do a section that takes 3 minutes to complete consistently and die on the part after, those 3 minutes are not hard, and neither is the part after. The thing is, it takes 3 minutes just to get to that next section to make another attempt, and that time adds up, creating a false perception of difficulty. Just to put that in perspective, this recent playthrough was my second playthrough of the game, ever, and I was coming back to it after nearly 15 years, and it took me 10 hours total. When I played it as a kid, it was something like 30 hours. And I took my time to take in the nostalgia and dick around. If I tried to speedrun it, I could probably do it in 3-5 hours. Trust me, it's not as hard as you remember.
Because it is easy if you know the way to do every mission. Almost every mission is easy when you complete it in a certain way, for example destory dig - kill all soldiers first before destroying the ropes.
I played this game when I was a kid and there was a time when I literally couldn't get past certain missions for weeks. Especially the metal head mini game, but now that I'm older this game is relatively easy. I still struggle on certain missions though.
Errol cheats in the class 1 race too. That's just part of his character as an arrogant entitled prick who will do anything to get what he wants. Had he not apparently died in his attempt to assassinate you, he'd probably stage a coup against Praxis at some point. Dude's a snake. And he pretty much does in the third installment. He has control over the KG bots (cause they were _his_ project IIRC) and uses them to attack the city. What was it, something about KG bots taking over the east and metal heads taking over the west?
Ah this is a classic video, this video is what encouraged me to go pro in jak 2 (get gud) and twitch me and do yt as a whole, there are other factors but this was a big one.
Yeah same here i just beat jak 2 last week and i found this vid going trough the soundtrack and i found this shit of a list non of these are that hard just # 2 if u don't use the jet board that is
So I've been playing Jak II recently for the first time (though I did have some knowledge of it from youtube vids) and here's how my experience went with these missions: 10. Honestly? I'd say it's one of the EASIEST missions in the game. All you need to do is stop running around like a headless chicken because of the '2 minutes' panic and discover the optimal routes. The shortcut to the most distant Eco well is not that hard to find. Finished it with 20 seconds to spare. 9. Right not I've only played Class 3. Relatively easy. Only used the boost to jump over the chasm. Pretty sure 2&1 will be tougher. 8. True story - I finished this mission on my second try! And I only got hit once on that try! I mostly used my 1st try to figure out the enemy patterns and the best way to protect those jerks. 7. Haven't played it yet. 6. Not there yet. 5. Got it on the 1st try. 4. Third try. I tried to constantly change my vechicle. One more hit and I would've died, though. 3. Next mission. Can't wait... lol. I remember having some serious issues with the Keira 3 minutes challenge so I predict I will spend a lot of time memorizing the rings. I can't pay attention to both the streets and the minimap at the same time! :P 2. Took a few tries but when I finally got through I did it without getting hit once. I've heard I can just dark bomb the sh*t out of that annoying turret so if I ever replay the game I'll probably do that. 1. Yes, the 1st segment is super annoying. 1st time those 40 guards DESTROYED me. 2nd try was not all that great either. on 3rd attempt I finally got past that but barely. However... there's actually a checkpoint after that part. So while it IS really difficult, once you're done with that part you will never have to replay it again. And the airship bosses are not that hard.
@@iyah.miller0610 nah you just need to know how to use the jet board and how to speed boost with it, I speed run on the path with the jet board pretty easily, it can also be done with the same method on hero mode. You need to be an expert with the board though if not this mission is a joke.
@@KhufRAA_MLBB Everyone always says that was the worst mission and that they would always use miracle strats like hoverboarding all way or something like that but I loved having to do it the hard way and kill all the krimson guards with the minigun. That thing is awesome at just fucking up big hoards and once you become familiar with the auto aim it's actually really satisfying to complete.
Part of what made this game hard for me is the vehicles. Because of how compact areas are, driving with the hover cruiser was a headache because theres no way to reliably drift when taking tight corners and all the obstacles you easily run into
@@crimsondynamo615 Fr game is fucking hard competed the series of games once when I was a kid and now playing them all over again finish jak 1 in a day
I managed to beat #1 in hero mode (after like 25-30 tries), but there's a trick to it. 1. Go Dark Jak then Dark Giant before getting in the first turret. Crouch jump and spin to get over the gate, then use Dark Blast. This will get rid of the initial Krimzon Guard that spawn before the counter shows up. 2. Keep your turret cool. The hotter the turret is (the more filled the bar around the crosshair is), the less damage it does. 3. Spread your fire out. If a KG is about to shoot, shooting them cancels their shot. Also, for #2 you can beat it relatively easily by just spamming square to punch your way back to shore. The cruisers have a hard time landing shots and the KG don't have time to shoot. You may take some damage but this is a lot easier than stopping and shooting the guards. I don't know how I beat this game as a 10 year old kid. Favorite game series of all time though, easily.
Agree on drill platform being number 1, it's basically impossible on heroic difficulty without air strike glitching the first wave prior to the 40. I couldn't even get past the 40 so I hover board glitched past that part. Yeah some of the missions in this game are hard, but trying to get 286 orbs is close to impossible.
for the water slum seal bit i just did a dark bomb move in the water and it destroyed the thing that shoots at you. then i just swam to the dry part. its a good trick (thank you walkthroughs)
Am I the only one who didn't find this game all that hard? It could be challenging, but in a moreish "one more try" kind of way that made it really addictive. I had a blast playing Jak II, it's a game that could have easily failed but managed to work so well.
Ive recently bought the ps3 collection out of pure nostalgia.I remember jak 2 to be the hardest and longest of the 3 but now that Ive played it again it seams kind of easier.I mean yes some missions are fustraiting cause of some mechanics or even camera angles but the game over all is doable and like you said it is a "one more try" type of game.
Same here pretty much. Only the checkpoint system made it slightly frustrating for me occasionally. For example, the mission where the giant crawler metal head chases Jak and Sig, 2 tricky phases and no checkpoint between them.
Well if you played this game in the past when you were younger then it would of been harder but as an adult it's easier to problem solve and multi-task when figuring out a good strat to beat a level tho some levels will always be a pain in the ars.
#1 is nearly impossible on hero mode. Even if you have the infinite health cheat, the turret can still take damage. I only beat it because I got lucky.
SpongeBoob Infinite health cheat ? I had no idea the game had cheats when i played it oh well i guess it's better that really could have ruined the experience. Massive respect if you actually passed the mission on hero mode but come on dude using cheats in a game like this is kind of gay.
Ja Herra These "cheats" are actually secrets you unlock with precursor orbs. And I don't know why the fuck you used gay in that context, which is very inappropriate
10. Blowing up the ammo. Sure it's one of the first missions, but that doesn't make it any less stupid. Camera angles, cheap shots, and my childhood are why this shit sucked.9. The Krimson Guard rails mission, your #1. It may just be me, but it wasn't that hard. Don't get me wrong, it is difficult, but compared to other missions? Child play.8. Onin's minigame wasn't really that hard to me, switch what you said for the Metal Hand Wackamole Game and you got a deal.7. Erol's street race missed me off because Errol didn't even need to touch them all the way, when you do. Luckily, I knew the city well, which made it relatively more easy, but still took me about 10 retires.6.Class 1 race. Fuck that race.5. Kor final boss battle. This is just me, but I used all my other ammo the first time fighting Kor, and since the crates only give you Yellow ammo, and I died when Kor only had {} that much, what followed was a long, combo spinning match.4. The tests of Manhood. Now, most of the puzzles were actually pretty dang easy, you can get what they're about in a few tries, even though their not really explained. What got me was the Daxter running scenes. They were so annoying. The camera angle sucked, the spider creeper me out, they weren't rewarding, and no checkpoints besides the change of rock and spider.3. Final class race. Fuck that race.2. Getting the seal out of the dock area. You don't need me explaining this. Fuck that mission, Fuck that seal. The easiest way is to either destroy the defence system with Dark Jak or Jet board around guards hoping you don't accidentally fall into the water, because, even a second, will kill you. (Which is what I had to do before I found out about the Dark Jak glitch.)1. I don't remember much from the "Escort Krew's men through the sewers" mission as a kid, but I replayed the Jak Trilogy on Ps3 just a few weeks ago, and I kid you not, I retired that mission at least 20, with my friend trying 10 times himself. We both just ended up rage quitting after we kept dying at either the lazy spider part or the ending. We tried again the next day, 3 deaths later, I won. The mission was particularly hard because of Krew's guys incompetence and how they would spread out some times, not to mention how annoying Mag and Jinx are. When I met Jinx again in Jak 3, I let him die just to relieve the pain of that mission. At least we get the Peacemaker right? EXCEPT AINT NOBODY EVER FUCKING USES THE PEACEMAKER
Obviously, what you mean is that you have your own _experience_ and that this differs from those of other players. It's not an "opinion", since that implies an objectivity which would preclude conflicting views from being right and equal. I can't "have my own" opinion and still "respect your own" if they conflict, but I *can* nonetheless respect your *point of view* as an *experience*, since that's a fact _about you_ which I can't refute so long as you present it in good faith. That nitpick notwithstanding though, I'm glad you took the time to honour this great franchise, and I'm glad to see you going strong in 2022. *[({R.G.)}]*
I usually say that it is opinion based because I know for a fact that there would be people that would disagree with what I think or why I'd say that. But you do have a good point and I'll remember that next time. Thanks for the comment. I am trying to hold my own.
Mission #2 was Ebola + Aids and cancer together. I was stuck on that and had to come back EIGHT YEARS LATER to finish it and the game. However i did a speed run on the jetboard. In the water. That's how i did it. Took some mastering but i eventually did it. Use tricks on the board at the right time and dodge the robot in the water and occasionally stay on the wooden docks.. xD
+pivot4469 agreed! i used the jetboard too.. but i sometimes got hitted by those fat guys and dropped down to water.. argh the most annoying mission in game imo
I did it in like 30 seconds :P all you got to do is dark bomb the water and the auto turrets in the water blow up, en you can jetboard all the way to the other side with ease. If you do it that way, it's honestly the easiest mission in the game! :D
Got another hint for Hellcat Cruiser's mission. Just use the Blue Gun. Drive up real close to the Cruiser. Then just spray the ship. Not that hard. You don't ever shoot from a distance. it works to get really close.
I mean, when you're doing that mission in the Water Slums to get the seal, you can use Dark Jak and dark bomb the water. That'll take care of the sentry so you can hover board back to the Slums. At least, that's what I did.
Great video! This is one of my all-time favorite series and I play them twice a year! Some advice: 1. The Hellcat cruiser or any mission where you have to knock down a vehicle in Haven City, don't use a bike. Use a bigger hovercar, so the aim will be dead on. Also, use the blaster. It gives more damage and you're done in about 5-7 shots, if not less. 2. The Seal at the pier mission can honestly be beaten by either using the jetboard (if you're REALLY good with it) OR keep pressing square (punch button) and push your way out of there. 3. As an uncoordinated kid, I got stuck on the Daxter Wack-A-Mole mission for a loooong time. 4. The drill platform mission is really only hard at the beginning when there are 40 guards, destroying the ships is easy. Hero Mode is hella hard though. Took me hours to beat that. It's tougher on the PS3 remaster when the shots don't travel all the way to where they spawn and hit and an invisible wall instead. So you have to wait until they get closer to actually start shooting them. A good way to get a head start on that mission on hero mode is: Go to secrets and turn on unlimited Dark Jak, and be sure you can turn into Dark Giant. Then jump over the electric barrier onto the other side. Then do Dark Strike. And then jump back and start the mission in the turret. That right there will destroy the first few Krimson Guards before you have to deal with the 40 wave.
I'm stuck AGAIN...destroying the ship..can't get past the 40 guards...I finally got thru the guards at the slums only to move on to this fk'd up challenge..& took me 3 days to end up having to punch my way thru the KG at the slums...I didn't have dark jak but you can do a dark strike in the water for the water bot..then hoverboard under the docks & make it in no time..I tried hovering on the docs but I got knocked off ever 2 seconds...fuck this game...but I love it...I think
#2 FUCKING PISSED ME OFF AS A KID. I REMEMBER TRYING TO SWIM PAST THEM BUT I FUCKING COULDN'T! I can't believe I actually had the patience to finish this game as a kid! Still love the game to bits though
Stache Just bought the digital version of the HD Collection two weeks ago and I noticed that too. As soon as I completed a certain kiosk mission in the 'futuristic' looking part of the city (where you have to grab the scattered green beacons in time for Torn) the game froze and I had to reset my console. I assume it's patched if you have a physical copy.
+Jak2bossbf3 I've found that you can also use the JET-board and just ride through it. You may risk taking a hit from the first drop ship but otherwise it is smooth sailing :-)
Jak II was definitely one of the hardest games I've ever played. Sometimes, I come back to watch some hardest missions on RUclips just to remind myself what did I achieve and relax like "good...I dont have to ever play this again" :D (btw I really like this video! you put enough of cutscenes and enough of gameplay, its well balanced and I agree with your list!)
The mission with the seal and the water dock actually has quite an easy way to beat it- you simply run through the docks using the punch. I'm serious- I just beat that mission today with that tactic- it's actually possible, and makes an otherwise extremely difficult mission a lot easier!
BigAlvideos101 Then you got lucky. I haven't played the HD collection, but I know that there's a glitch where punches go the wrong way. So say if you were trying to punch forward, you would punch to the right instead.
oh the hellcat cruisers, i'll be honest when i first played Jack 2 a good decade or so ago i actually stopped playing for a while i thought it was that hard. total bullshit, i was so glad when i finally beat it
I got a hint for escorting Krew's men. I call it The Classic Jak II: Whenever you are surrounded constantly just spam X, X, O then R1 over and over. X, X, O then R1. Double Jump, Spin and Shoot. For some reason, you shoot more bullets that way. It works every time to be honest. But be careful because that also drains your ammo. Be sure that as you kill, you stop for a moment to pick up ammo. While your trying to pick up ammo, keep spinning so that if any Metal Heads run up on you, they'll get hit. Then resume to spamming double jump, spin, and shooting. Also, before reaching the sewers, I suggest going to pumping station to kill enemies for Dark Eco to replenish your bar all the way to the top. Once you're in the sewers, don't use any abilites you have gotten from the Oracle once you activate Dark Jak. My advice is to save Dark Jak until the 2nd Cutscene plays once they start coming down the ceiling. Then just keep spamming square and hit them normally. Then from there, it should be an easy breeze if you keep doing the spam.
This game wasn't very difficult at all in my opinion. The bosses were a joke, I beat the final boss, Metal Kor on my very first attempt. Only thing that got on my nerves in this game were the few Jetboard missions, and the side missions where you had to race through the city through rings/gates for precursor orbs.
This is actually not a bad list for a first time playthrough, though the list is completely out of order, in my opinion. Except for #1. I can't remember ever failing this mission even once.
#1 was easy to get through, especially if you use the button tap method, and by that I mean: Don't bother holding R1 all the time, because it screws you over immediately. #2 is just straight up torture, and I can easily sympathize with everyone who went and played through that god awful mission. 😡
I agree wholeheartedly with the #1 pick especially in hero mode, I didn't really have that much trouble with the rest of them though, the hardest parts for me were the optional objectives, especially the perfect Onin minigame that gets you like twenty precursor orbs. Also the races are made very easy by using the vehicle-jump while boosting.
Couple of tips I learned Blow up the eco wells Hold l1 going to the ramp then on the last square in the ramp, hit x. This ignores the bullshit "spin boost movement to get high enough" and Jax/Dexter will basically always have the momentum to throw it up there The class races Much like road courses/road circuits irl, it's basic just get in clean air(get a 2 second lead)then you win. From my experience, boosting on a hill/on the turns that have a gap of some parts on the track is a death sentence, just save them for straight turns. On the final race where there's that straight wall on the steep turn(think it's turn 3 or 4), slam the break and hug the inside because you will always snag the boost on the far right and can use that to get top speed again while running the fastest line. Also on the Dexter race, you don't need a boost to complete the ledge shortcut if you jump at the last second/in a straight line. Escorting krewa men Just save dark jak for the ambush and use the ground slam/spin in air dark attack about 10 seconds into the ambush away from the 3 dolts you're escorting. Sig in under Port Fuck this level. It's just the autoscroller when the metalhead that is chasing you that's a burden. There's really no tip besides trial/error until you get it right. The mini games They're just dumb, honestly if you're on emulator just put it on 50% speed. This/the whack a mole mission are a waste of time. The hellcat cruiser mission Just use the Vulcan fury from far away so it can't shoot back. Also switch the zoomer every 30 seconds Enrol city race If you aren't accelerating/breaking, the zoomer won't actually boost. Makes the turns 100x times easier. Water slums seal If you're a bitch:activate the hoverboard and just run away If you're a real guy:the Vulcan is the weapon you should be using 90% of the time. Check the map and take the most efficient route(a few are dead ends.) But around the 3rd wave point you hit, the guards will start spawning behind you but it'll only be like 5 max. Just focus on whatevers in front of you inching forward but when the wave thins for 0.5 seconds, turn the Vulcan around and fire like 15 blind shots then keep going. The auto scroll turrent The kill 40 is the real challenge, if you get to half heath before 20 left, just reset. Killing them as they come down is really the only good option. They will all follow the same line coming in so just hold that one spot. When you're in the rest of the mission, focus on the blimp turrent over the one guard, it will do more damage than the guard
This game's problems stem from lack of polish and lack of user testing. When you design a mission, you know what to do, and become very skilled at it. The player did not make the game, and does not have such skill yet. Also, no health packs between missions. What the fudge. And, just to brag, I did beat this game on Hero Mode :)
Hilariously 2011 video editing aside, no don't worry, destroying the ship at the drill platform is actually perfectly doable on hero mode...it did take me around four hours, but hey, I like me a challenge.
Some of them were just seemingly hard. The slums can be easily completed if you spammed that punching move. The mission which required you to bring down those 5 Hellcats was also easy, because you can just simply hide until the alarm ceases and the hellcats can be easily brought down with the blue gun. So it was like: kill some hellcats, hide away and repeat. I really want to replay this game, but sadly my PS2 isn't with me atm :(
This whas the very first game i played and me being 5 years old back then i coudnt beat any mission excluding the tutorial but when i got to THAT mission in the slums with 10000 crimson gaurds i stoped playing for 2 years becauze it whas so hard and anybody who played the game knows that that mission is so hard
Dude theres a really easy way to cheat your way out of this mission. All you have to do is equip the blaster (not sure if it works without it) and spam the square button untill you get to the end. It might take you a couple of tries but it works
Jens Gram i tried dashing through without any guns equiped but they kept shooting my ass :( so i just pulled out my blaster and made it on the first try!
This list is pretty good...A lot of missions were certainly on my mind, considering that earlier this week, I decided to play the game for the first time in years. I'd like to comment on a few of them. 10 - Eco Wells...Wow I remember this one when I was a kid. This level was so disparaging and frustrating to me when I was younger, that when I turned on the game, I chose to do this level FIRST from the Level-Select, just so I would have no illusions about what I was getting into. However...After not only beating it, but also repeating it twice through subsequent play-throughs, I find that the mission isn't all that bad if you follow a strategy. 1; your first attempt will probably result in failure, so you should use this attempt to try and determine each of the wells locations; particularly the one hidden behind the Foreman's Office where you rescued Vinn from, and the well that is up the hill and across the gorge. These are the two wells hardest to get to, bar-none. 2; as such, getting to them first is essential. Jump on the jet board, and immediately race up the hill to the well closest to the entrance. But instead of trying it, jump off the board, walk over to the nearby rocks and you should be able to par-kour your way up to the Final Eco well - this shortcut should save 45 seconds off your overall trip up there. Then for the other hard to reach well, Jet-board up the support bar closest to the office. Time your trip up there carefully so that you can jump off the board and land safely on an oncoming crate. Jump to safety and then onto the jetboard again to get the well. If this works, you should have the hardest two wells down, and with a full minute to get the other four; granted that doesn't sound like much, but trust me; it CAN be don. 3; I've found that there IS indeed a trick to getting the appropriate air-time to make Jak throw the bomb. When your riding up the half-pipe, assuming you have appropriate speed, right when the board leaves the pipe, hold the X button down; if you time it right, instead of jumping, the board will climb high enough and Jak will throw the bomb. 4; the only trick I have left, is to suggest that you mind your speed, doing at least one 360 spin before going up each ramp. 9. Yeah; no defense here; the Class Races SUCK...even with the Short-cuts you can take. The problem is, in the first two races, to survive the short-cuts, you have to use a turbo...and if your steering is off, you'll crash into the wall, either dying, or damaging your vehicle, slowing your progress. Much frustrations... 8. Oh yes...Krew's men was a toughie. I absolutely HATE levels where you have to protect someone - Sig can usually handle himself, but Ashelyn can sometimes get overwhelmed. These guys...they're morons. But fortunately, if you have to replay the level enough times, you'll begin to anticipate where the Metel Heads come from. 7. Under...the Port...The Horror...The Horror. This was the one level that held me up the longest when I did my aforementioned play-through up there...But y'know what? I'm legitimately surprised that you mentioned only HALF of this monstrosity...I'll get to the other half later. 6. Rushing the Nest...It took me an hour to get through this part. The worst thing is, there was no Peacemaker Ammo in the boxes nearby. The jumping metalheads are most annoying, and the big laser bug ones are so quiet that they'll be behind you without you knowing. Fortunately...they're easy to kill. The Giant Electric Elephant Metalheads are also so quiet that when you DO see one, you shit your pants. Fortunately, they're easy to avoid...Truth be told, it was more the dark-eco terrain that killed me. As for Metal Core himself...after a few attempts at enjoying the fight with a bit of strategy...I just sucked it up and spammed the Blaster Mod. HOWEVER...I have more to say about it. After years of dreaming what it would be like to fight Metal Kor as the Dark Jak Giant...I finally got my wish on my aforementioned play-through...Only to find that Dark Jak's physical attacks don't do shit. So yeah...all these years leading up to one last Dark Jak Bomb. 5. Onin's Symbol Game? Uh...maybe it's just me but...this thing is a cake-walk - especially at 400 points. Maybe it's just that when I finally beat the game as a kid and went around doing free-play afterwards, I often Frequented Onin's hut to play the game; my record I think was somewhere close to 25000 points before I missed 20 times. I end up doing the same with the Whack-a-Metalhead game at the Hip-Hog. 4. The...Hellcats...Ugh; usually I'd tie this one in with the Blast-Bots, because I usually remember them as one big Krimson Guard Beating. Because they are the worst part...the fact that they WON'T leave you alone. I end up taking out One Hellcat, and then hiding until they stop looking for me...But the worst part about this level is the fact that 1; not only do the Hellcats RUN from you, forcing you to chase them, but 2; the fact that you don't have the Goddamn Peacemaker! 3. The Street Races - ALL OF MY HATE! ALL OF MY HATE!!! You covered it pretty good, so I'll only mention one last thing; about how despite the fact that Erol makes the Accelerator rings a part of the race, AND states the rules...He himself doesn't have to follow them. I often found myself able to knock Erol off course, forcing him to miss the ring, thinking he'd stop and try and get it again...But nope; Erol just keeps going. I actually only ended up WINNING this thing by sheer luck at the end. 2. The Port...Wow this level is frustrating. And the worst part is, it tricks you into thinking you can survive. I found that if you hang back far enough, the drop ship can't shoot you, allowing you to take out the KG one by one, until the ship empties and leaves. HOWEVER, once you pass a certain part of the dock, ships you've already depleated will come back and drop MORE off. So the strategy forces you to run and rush before the guards CAN drop down. I find jumping over to the Oracle's Temple and then proceeding from there to be the easiest way, but not by much. 1. The Eco-Ship at the Drill Platform...Gonna be as frank as I can...This is the level that I got stuck on as a kid for MONTHS. I initially first played the game by borrowing it from a friend but had to return it cause this part drained out my "rental time". I wasn't able to beat it until I got the game myself for Christmas. Fortunately, once you get past the Flying KG, you get checkpoints to deal with the Ship...So...at least there's that.
I fuckin agree with the 1st, Drill Platform Tanker is the main reason why i don't play this game again, it was just insanely hard and traumatized me when i was a kid.
@@davidgreene6622 no its possible is all and also another thing i have done is fight the city guards and last for hours. i was stressed out one day as a kid, so i took it out on the guards you know how you are supposed to run from them. i only used the yellow and purple blaster to do it too
to this day i never knew this game was regarded as really hard looking back at it now i can see the difficulties i do remember spending a lot of time with those racing missions though.
Kingdom080500 Yeah, but I think where most of my hours were was just shooting crap in the city after you beat the game and finding out new glitches and such
@Saul Gonzalez I agree. Add to the fact that you get faster each time you collect one thing, and you're able to do it a second time, adds to it immensely. BTW, "difficult" is abused in this video, but excused because of ad-libbing. And yes. #1 in Hero Mode is amped up big time, cause the guards take more hits/deal more damage, plus the guards bounce all over the place with every hit unless you can chain them together fast enough.
Ye I agree I was dreading doing the class racing again. it's so hard to steer. I got so frustrated with street racing it's so hard to maneuver the bike around those tight city streets, one false move and your off. The only way I managed to get out of the water slums was to use the jet-board, which allows you to move past the ships just before the guards get out. Finally I found the drill platform mission a little irritating but once you get the hang of taking out those guards it's pretty easy.
This game was hard for people? Growing up I was always a perfectionist in games maybe it was that habit that made this game relatively easy for me. I just remember it being fun as hell not too difficult
I punched my way thru the seal team at the water slums..it took forever without dark jak. When you mention restarting the mission...why would you do that instead of just letting it respawn you there?
Because the checkpoint system in Jak II is almost nonexistent. Jak II is not generous when it comes checkpoints or health pack. It punishes the player for dying by forcing you to start from the very beginning of the mission. Either way, you start at square one dying OR restarting! It takes what could be reasonable challenge into pure brutal bullshit.
Mann I was hoping I’ve done most of the hardest missions but only done eco wells and just did the water slums last night, literally took me 62 minutes trying with the jet board but dang guess there’s still a lot more frustration ahead 😭
My Top 10: #10 - Rescue Friends in Fortress #9 - Destroy Ship at Drill Platform #8 - Destroy Equipment at Dig #7 - Escort men through Sewers #6 - Get Heart of Mar in Weapons Lab #5 - Find Sig in Under Port #4 - Beat Erol in Race Challenge #3 - Destroy Metal Kor at Nest #2 - Hunt Haven Forest Metal Heads #1 - Get Seal Piece at the Water Slums
From the second place, after die so many times, i discorve how pass easy, um simple cross The entire área doing a combo with square and X, that way The gunships dont Will hit jak because He doing a lot of strunts in The Air, and The aim Will not hit you, only thing you have to pay attetion is The guards, but its easy
not in any specific order 1. The one with all the guards in the water slums. (Without dark punches the water and jetboarding your way across). 2. Fortress mission where you have to rescue old friends. 3. The one in the drill platform with jetpack guards. 4. Kor boss. 5. Racing errol. City and champion. 6. Five Hellcat cruisers.
Here's a tip for boss battles and mob fights: When using the Blaster do the jump spin kick and fire ,but mash the trigger. You'll fire the usual 5 rounds off during your spin and then when you land Jak'll fire of 5 more rounds rapidly in a straight line. Fan out your shots a bit when you land and you have a great mob clearing technique
for #2, it is true that you can escape the guards by going Dark Jak, and performing a Dark Bomb ( X then Square ) onto the surface of the water. This will kill the robot in the water and then you'll be free to swim/jetboard on the water out of the slums.
For the Onin game, Just take your time and don't rush, the symbols don't go away that fast really, it just makes it look like you have to get it in 1 second when you have like 2 seconds.
I'd say the Krew escort mission was the hardest for me. There were just too many enemies pouring out for it to feel balanced, even with a fair amount of Dark Jak abilities. The drill platform, I don't even remember for its difficulty. Probably because I've had too much time playing with similar controls in R&C with first-person mode. Runner-up is the Erol race.
I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into number 2. BLOOD. SWEAT. TEARS. And you mean to tell me that you could just jetboard through it???!!!!! Whatever, I'm not bitter.
Most of these missions have their flaws, which make them easily exploitable and easy. I found a lot. #10. For the well past Vin's old place, grind on the rails up above. #9. ALWAYS TAKE THE SHORTCUTS AND TRY TO PICK UP TWO BOOSTS AT ONCE BY TURNING EARLY. It works well and Erol was in last place when I beat the mission the first time. Also he can blow up. Also you can use L1 / R1 to hop above others. #8. It's pretty chill until the very end. Stock up on ammo and spam shoot the Metal Heads. Simple. #7. The Underport was easy. Just the Titan Suit part. At the last jump. Just walk and jump as the elevator is close to its max height. #6. Not that bad. Spam shoot or climb to the ledge. #5. Fast reflexes. That's it. I got 1300 approx as my top score. #4. The cruisers were simple: Use the Blaster for the first four or three, depending on ammo, and then use the Vulcan Barrel for the last one or two, again, depending on ammo. #3. Know the track and pray that Erol gets stuck. That's really it. Not much I can say about the Erol race. #2. Punch through the guards and don't stand in one place. EVER. This is one of the easiest missions in the game, next to escaping the fortress, if you know what you're doing when punching through the guards. Because it still is fairly hard. #1. It is pretty hard. Just don't hold R1 the entire time and look at the arrow in the middle of the screen to see where other guards are. I almost never die.
10. I can agree that this mission ends up being a pain due to the placement of the wells. Ultimately though, if you know what you're doing, it's not too difficult. 9. The races are indeed pretty aggravating to through. Particularly as you go on. Interestingly, I had just managed to beat the Class 3 race in one go. 8. Oh Lord, this mission. I think this is probably why escort missions have fallen out of favor with most gamers and why you don't see them in more recent games. The only redeeming factors are the amusing dialogue between the three men (hearing the same dialogue every time I die and restart is pretty obnoxious though) 7. If you think this part is bad, the part where you actually reach Sig and then escort him through the rest of the stage is a dadgum pain in the keester. I was getting so mad at this level just now that it destroyed my desire to complete the game. I just want to skip to Jak 3 already 6. No comment 5. Ugh. Not only is this mission a pain because the symbols move too fast and are too numerous, but because Pecker's constant yapping gets grating 4. Just screw this mission. Too many guards swarming, too many buildings and civilians in the way, and it's just too hard to shoot and drive a zoomer at the same time 3. This is a prime example of why I HATE ring races, especially on twisty tracks 2. I hear there's a little cheat you can use to get through this mission. Basically, you can use the Dark Bomb ability to destroy the water bot and then just cruise on the water towards the exit on your hoverboard 1. UGGGGHHHH. I hate going up against the guards in the gun terret. They swarm too much and you can't defend yourself in the terret. I'm glad that I ultimately didn't spend too long on this part though.
The 1st class race is ironically the easiest for me. The race through the town can be a pain. Sometimes the villager blocked me in curves or they took my speed with it...
Pro tip for the final boss, useing the jet board in his final stage makes it basically impossible for you to get hit cause you’re too fast, wait until he fires his three blast then jump off, shoot him a few times then get back on when he gets too close
Dude, love your list. Here's what "I" think of these missions. #10: If you memorized where all the eco wells are then this mission is a cakewalk. #9: The first Class Race in Jak II was the most annoying one for me. #8: Honestly, it didn't annoy me as much as everyone else does but yeah, I still hate it. #7: Oh God! Even AFTER finding Sig, this mission is still a pain. #6: The final level was challenging but liked it... Metal Kor was challenging but hated it. #5: Honestly, I found this mission to be extremely easy. #4: I HATE THIS MISSION SO MUCH! #3: This race was a pain to deal with. I mean honestly, the ring placements are just total garbage. #2: I hated this mission but jetboarding through the stage can make it less painful. #1: Oh I TOTALLY agree! It's not my least favourite mission in the game but it is the MOST ANNOYING MISSION IN THE GAME FOR ME!!!
Jak 3 was soo much easier than this game!
xXWilmelXx It's a great game too but there are annoying levels in Jak 3 too but there comes a moment when all the missions available are retarted hard.
Too bad it was much shorter than the second.
Good
Honestly jak 3 was way easier
Sadly I beat jack 3 before jak 2 because the last mission this guy mention just kept beating me
#2 broke me. Snapped the disc in half and sent my controller to orbit
You can't even touch the water.
@@DeadPool-gj4dx anticheese measures
Touching the water during that mission leads to instant death.
Dark bomb the water. Robot problem solved!
I got angry too but after like trying everything I could with weapons I tried using the board to go through it and made it in under 10 tries
Anyone remembers the jetboard mission where you had to grind the wires off a giant drill? Yeah, that one was quite a pain, too.
Destroy Equipment at Dig
Not really
The entire trick was to carefully navigate the entire area with the Blaster Rifle equipped and snipe every last KG troop before going for the ropes. Trying to plow through it otherwise is ridiculous.
@@monasteryfounder yep, soldiers are too good with their grenades to ignore them
@@monasteryfounder
Exactly. Just kill everyone, then it's a piece of cake.
I think your #2 was the hardest for me!
DaGamePlace I remember that! That was the mission that I literally got stuck on and gave up on Hero mode! :(
***** Me too.
***** in this Mission it´s possible to speedrun. I do it every time :D
Top hardest Jak 2 mission is... whole game! :D
Period!
Amen, brother... Amen!
This is off topic, but I will never stop appreciating Naughty Dog's passive fanservicing of Tess in Jak II.
Or Keira in Jak 1
We all remember the dreaded sound of failure.. AHHHHH!
I found Onin's minigame to be one of the easiest missions. You get enough seconds look at the symbols and to press the buttons, and the order doesn't matter as long as you press them all.
No, Onins Minigame and Bust the metal head r so fking hard... i hate them both!
Onins minigame aint that hard tbh
Odins mini game I would pause it every 3 seconds lol. 😂😂😂
Well, apparently you possess enough coordination to call that easy.
I'm surprised that metal head mini game in the bar wasnt on the list.
Not hard. You just can't get Daxter tired because he's like an overheat bar. Once you get him tired from him spamming the buttons, he won't respond and you'll miss the metal heads.
That's easy if you've got good coordination. I got top score on that game easily.
black_hawk3456 How about running from the tank in the very first mission ? I remember that being a real pain in the ass.
That's not hard, THAT'S FUN AS HELL!!!!
@@SWyrick366 annoying af
oh yeah number 1 is also my number 1 EVER in ALL video games!
They were hard missions. I would get so pissed. Jak 3 made me enjoy the game even more, imo. Jak 3 was my favorite game in the series.
except of that fucking pacman mission ugh fuck that mission
Lemon Gill but when you pass the whole game it feels so good and hard fought
It’s all about checkpoint placement. Jak 2 which was fun missed the mark on that and it made the game so difficult
I remember having hell with a bunch of these missions when I was a kid. Jak 2 was definitely one of, if not the hardest game I've ever played through. I'm surprised there are people here calling it easy.
That’s because they are lying
@@BradenBest yes it is
Because it is easy if you know the way to do every mission. Almost every mission is easy when you complete it in a certain way, for example destory dig - kill all soldiers first before destroying the ropes.
Water slums seal is easy if you spam punch all the way through....
I played this game when I was a kid and there was a time when I literally couldn't get past certain missions for weeks. Especially the metal head mini game, but now that I'm older this game is relatively easy. I still struggle on certain missions though.
The racing missions are completely unfair
@@JimmyJames10-k7v they are not.
i actually remember getting so salty once when Errol actually missed one ring himself but didnt give a shit.
There's a name for that trope: Your Rules Are Not My Rules.
The hardest by far is escaping the slums after Brutter gives you a pieces of the seal. The Baron sends an entire arm of unlimited troops
Ah this is a classic video, this video is what encouraged me to go pro in jak 2 (get gud) and twitch me and do yt as a whole, there are other factors but this was a big one.
lol i beat the 1# on my first try, but it was annoying though
My bro did it on his 1st try, same opinion as you, the swarm of ships were annoying.
Same :P
xSeebuGames Same here.
Yeah same here i just beat jak 2 last week and i found this vid going trough the soundtrack and i found this shit of a list non of these are that hard just # 2 if u don't use the jet board that is
same
I agree with all of them. But 1, 2, and 3.
1 was 3. 3 was 2. And 2 was 1 imo
So I've been playing Jak II recently for the first time (though I did have some knowledge of it from youtube vids) and here's how my experience went with these missions:
#2 was my favorite mission but it WAS HARD
its very easy use mini gun
Number 1 on hero mode is the hardest thing that i have ever completed!
Part of what made this game hard for me is the vehicles. Because of how compact areas are, driving with the hover cruiser was a headache because theres no way to reliably drift when taking tight corners and all the obstacles you easily run into
1 on hero mode still gives me nightmares. I lost many an hour of sleep trying to complete it
Ah hero mode, when the normal difficult just isn’t enough CBT for you.
Onin's mini-game is so easy :/
Mike S yes it is
@@cantloop9589 that mission isnt hard, its really annoying especially when you haven't gotten used to the controls yet
for some people it's hard for some people it's easy because the mechanics are completely different from the main game
True, I have like 170 and it looks like I run out of places to search lol
It's kinda easy you know
I got all of them yesterday
On hero mode yes, but this mission is easy normally.
The part where you run away from a metal head bug after finding sig pissed the hell out of me!!!!
for the water slum seal bit i just did a dark bomb move in the water and it destroyed the thing that shoots at you. then i just swam to the dry part. its a good trick (thank you walkthroughs)
Am I the only one who didn't find this game all that hard? It could be challenging, but in a moreish "one more try" kind of way that made it really addictive.
I had a blast playing Jak II, it's a game that could have easily failed but managed to work so well.
It's funny.
I'm gathering precursor orbs so I can play on Hero Mode, lol
Ive recently bought the ps3 collection out of pure nostalgia.I remember jak 2 to be the hardest and longest of the 3 but now that Ive played it again it seams kind of easier.I mean yes some missions are fustraiting cause of some mechanics or even camera angles but the game over all is doable and like you said it is a "one more try" type of game.
Same here pretty much. Only the checkpoint system made it slightly frustrating for me occasionally. For example, the mission where the giant crawler metal head chases Jak and Sig, 2 tricky phases and no checkpoint between them.
You have full agreement from me.

Use tricks on the board at the right time and dodge the robot in the water and occasionally stay on the wooden docks.. xD
Eric Cartman Exactly.
+pivot4469 agreed! i used the jetboard too.. but i sometimes got hitted by those fat guys and dropped down to water.. argh the most annoying mission in game imo
+thoumi96 Yeah, and when I first tried it, i was 6 years old.
+pivot4469 If you time it right, you can punch your way through without taking any damage.
Sadly it doesn’t work on the PS4 port or on the HD trilogy :(
@@domoru5264worked for me on the ps4 version.
Im sorry Pecker, but I wish I were fast enough to react to the buttons.
You laid an egg! Too bad so sad!
Great video! This is one of my all-time favorite series and I play them twice a year! Some advice:
Thanks very much for the feedback. I'll take those advices to heart next time I play those missions.
@@azinfandellvr Are you stuck on the 40 guards at the construction site or the slums dock level?
#2 FUCKING PISSED ME OFF AS A KID. I REMEMBER TRYING TO SWIM PAST THEM BUT I FUCKING COULDN'T! I can't believe I actually had the patience to finish this game as a kid! Still love the game to bits though
I completed this game on hero mode when I was 11..
what is hero mode? I never knew this game had modes.
***** do you get access to it after getting enough precursor orbs from the mini games? what cheats do u get access to?
***** and you can use these cheats to replay all the missions right?
thetoughguy jr. The only hard ones will be when you're in the gun turret etc. because the invincibility cheat doesn't apply the machines health.
Jak 2 was pretty hard when I first played it, but I got a lot of practice so it's pretty easy for me now.
There is a way to cheat mission #2. Go into dark jak and dark bomb the water. It will destroy the robot and you can jetboard right across :)
+Jak2bossbf3 I didn't need the cheat.
+Jak2bossbf3 I've found that you can also use the JET-board and just ride through it. You may risk taking a hit from the first drop ship but otherwise it is smooth sailing :-)
Why using glitch?
It makes it less fun.
yeah thats why it makes it easier
+MJGamer_15 - Glitches & Gameplays the only possible way I could beat it was to use the f(!?ing hover board
Jak II was definitely one of the hardest games I've ever played. Sometimes, I come back to watch some hardest missions on RUclips just to remind myself what did I achieve and relax like "good...I dont have to ever play this again" :D
(btw I really like this video! you put enough of cutscenes and enough of gameplay, its well balanced and I agree with your list!)
Number 3 is number 1 in my opinion
You can't complain about Metal Kor being hard, I mean he's the FINAL BOSS, he's suppose to be hard.
The mission with the seal and the water dock actually has quite an easy way to beat it- you simply run through the docks using the punch. I'm serious- I just beat that mission today with that tactic- it's actually possible, and makes an otherwise extremely difficult mission a lot easier!
that will only work on ps2 version
Clorox Bleach I pulled it off in the PS3 HD set, so I can confirm it works in the HD Collection as well!
BigAlvideos101 It's much harder though....
Just Another Arrogant Internet User I pulled it off quite easily!
BigAlvideos101 Then you got lucky. I haven't played the HD collection, but I know that there's a glitch where punches go the wrong way. So say if you were trying to punch forward, you would punch to the right instead.
This game looks really fun. I might want to try this series actually
I actually beat your #1 on my second try, so I'm curious about the others since I haven't tried a majority of them.
Oh yeah, that last one you mentioned about the drill platform with the jet pack guards is one PAIN IN THE ASS in hero mode!
oh the hellcat cruisers, i'll be honest when i first played Jack 2 a good decade or so ago i actually stopped playing for a while i thought it was that hard. total bullshit, i was so glad when i finally beat it
same her
I got a hint for escorting Krew's men.
In the fight against Metal Kor, when you die and hold R1 you can get one free use of Dark Jak and deal a lot of damage to Matal Kor
I did not know that. Thanks for the tip. If I replay Jak II, I'll try it.
@@ChiefShadow1750 Holy shit bro ur still alive ?? this video is 13 yrs old
@@bloodhound1182 Yeah I am. Things haven't been well the last several years on my end. Bad luck has hit my channel hard.
I love how old but well made at the same time this video is
I agree wholeheartedly with the #1 pick especially in hero mode, I didn't really have that much trouble with the rest of them though, the hardest parts for me were the optional objectives, especially the perfect Onin minigame that gets you like twenty precursor orbs. Also the races are made very easy by using the vehicle-jump while boosting.
Couple of tips I learned
Blow up the eco wells
Hold l1 going to the ramp then on the last square in the ramp, hit x. This ignores the bullshit "spin boost movement to get high enough" and Jax/Dexter will basically always have the momentum to throw it up there
The class races
Much like road courses/road circuits irl, it's basic just get in clean air(get a 2 second lead)then you win.
Escorting krewa men
Just save dark jak for the ambush and use the ground slam/spin in air dark attack about 10 seconds into the ambush away from the 3 dolts you're escorting.
Sig in under Port
Fuck this level. It's just the autoscroller when the metalhead that is chasing you that's a burden. There's really no tip besides trial/error until you get it right.
The mini games
They're just dumb, honestly if you're on emulator just put it on 50% speed. This/the whack a mole mission are a waste of time.
The hellcat cruiser mission
Just use the Vulcan fury from far away so it can't shoot back. Also switch the zoomer every 30 seconds
Enrol city race
If you aren't accelerating/breaking, the zoomer won't actually boost. Makes the turns 100x times easier.
Water slums seal
If you're a bitch:activate the hoverboard and just run away
If you're a real guy:the Vulcan is the weapon you should be using 90% of the time.
The auto scroll turrent
The kill 40 is the real challenge, if you get to half heath before 20 left, just reset. Killing them as they come down is really the only good option. They will all follow the same line coming in so just hold that one spot. When you're in the rest of the mission, focus on the blimp turrent over the one guard, it will do more damage than the guard
These were still easier than that pacman bullshit with Daxter in Jak 3
Wow...you actually believe that? o_O
#2 is the worst!
Hilariously 2011 video editing aside, no don't worry, destroying the ship at the drill platform is actually perfectly doable on hero mode...it did take me around four hours, but hey, I like me a challenge.
This vids a classic.
Thanks a lot. Even after 13 years I'm glad that there are those who still enjoy it.
Finnaly beat it 4 years later!
Jens Gram yeah. Besides this one i dont think ive ever had any trouble with any other missions
that mission is easy once you understand the pattern of the guards and take it slow, kill every one of them
This list is pretty good...A lot of missions were certainly on my mind, considering that earlier this week, I decided to play the game for the first time in years.
2. I just Jet-Boarded the way. beat in 1:32
***** thats what i did xD
i guess were extrem experts lol
TenZZOom i wish i was an expert at jak 2 :( if i can get pass that turrent part..i will consider myself an expert xD
LMAO SAME
I fuckin agree with the 1st, Drill Platform Tanker is the main reason why i don't play this game again, it was just insanely hard and traumatized me when i was a kid.
i beat the drill platform missions on hero mode
@Base Bass Forte Yah thats because you cheated and found glitches..FRAUD
@@davidgreene6622 no its possible is all and also another thing i have done is fight the city guards and last for hours. i was stressed out one day as a kid, so i took it out on the guards you know how you are supposed to run from them. i only used the yellow and purple blaster to do it too
to this day i never knew this game was regarded as really hard looking back at it now i can see the difficulties i do remember spending a lot of time with those racing missions though.
Its kinda sad to say that Jak 3 was much easier to beat than Jak II
Not really. Jak II was "Difficulty spike: the game". So it's nice to know that Jak 3 isn't as crazily difficult as Jak II.
Jak 3 was easy, I beat it like 2 times, and once in hero mode when I was little
CreeperFino It kinda felt like Jak 3 was so short because it seemed like all of it was just cut out content from Jak II made into it's own game.
Kingdom080500 Yeah, but I think where most of my hours were was just shooting crap in the city after you beat the game and finding out new glitches and such
yeah but am I the only one that thinks that part 3 was also the most fun?
@Saul Gonzalez
I agree.
#2 was actually fun for me I look forward to it #1 took me 2 tries. The erole race would have been my number one.
In the n°2 mission you can also just spam square and end the mission
dude, this game isnt that hard. Challenging, yes, but I certainly wouldnt say too hard.
Hardest for my sister was the bomb one, mostly because it kept bugging, so she was landing on top, and that did not count for throwing the bombs.
he acts like this is super hard its sorta challenging but he must just suck at this game
haha ae
Word
I punched my way thru the seal team at the water slums..it took forever without dark jak. When you mention restarting the mission...why would you do that instead of just letting it respawn you there?
Because the checkpoint system in Jak II is almost nonexistent. Jak II is not generous when it comes checkpoints or health pack. It punishes the player for dying by forcing you to start from the very beginning of the mission. Either way, you start at square one dying OR restarting! It takes what could be reasonable challenge into pure brutal bullshit.
Obnoxious voice.
I’ve loved Jak 2 ever since I was a kid, still a great game to play today ❤. Also #1 is fucking horrid to beat on Hero Mode (from personal experience)
Mann I was hoping I’ve done most of the hardest missions but only done eco wells and just did the water slums last night, literally took me 62 minutes trying with the jet board but dang guess there’s still a lot more frustration ahead 😭
My Top 10:
#10 - Rescue Friends in Fortress
#9 - Destroy Ship at Drill Platform
#8 - Destroy Equipment at Dig
#7 - Escort men through Sewers
#6 - Get Heart of Mar in Weapons Lab
#5 - Find Sig in Under Port
#4 - Beat Erol in Race Challenge
#3 - Destroy Metal Kor at Nest
#2 - Hunt Haven Forest Metal Heads
#1 - Get Seal Piece at the Water Slums
I don't agree with the order but all the events you are spot on sir
From the second place, after die so many times, i discorve how pass easy, um simple cross The entire área doing a combo with square and X, that way The gunships dont Will hit jak because He doing a lot of strunts in The Air, and The aim Will not hit you, only thing you have to pay attetion is The guards, but its easy
not in any specific order
Here's a tip for boss battles and mob fights:
When using the Blaster do the jump spin kick and fire ,but mash the trigger. You'll fire the usual 5 rounds off during your spin and then when you land Jak'll fire of 5 more rounds rapidly in a straight line. Fan out your shots a bit when you land and you have a great mob clearing technique
I remember racing Errol over and over, getting pissed off because he'd always miss one particular ring and just keep going.
***** when I raced him, he missed about 10 and I still managed to beat him don't know how
for #2, it is true that you can escape the guards by going Dark Jak, and performing a Dark Bomb ( X then Square ) onto the surface of the water. This will kill the robot in the water and then you'll be free to swim/jetboard on the water out of the slums.
For the Onin game, Just take your time and don't rush, the symbols don't go away that fast really, it just makes it look like you have to get it in 1 second when you have like 2 seconds.
I remember the another skate boarding mission in some sort of forest being very difficult too.
Runner-up is the Erol race.
this feels really old, maybe it's due to it being a decade ago, feels like it was made in 2002
I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into number 2. BLOOD. SWEAT. TEARS. And you mean to tell me that you could just jetboard through it???!!!!! Whatever, I'm not bitter.
I was able to Speed Run the Water Slums mission by using the Jetboard to evade the Guards. It made it a whole lot better
This whole video was a major self-esteem boost, since I beat the game when I was, like, 9. Thanks!
The only redeeming factors are the amusing dialogue between the three men (hearing the same dialogue every time I die and restart is pretty obnoxious though)
7. If you think this part is bad, the part where you actually reach Sig and then escort him through the rest of the stage is a dadgum pain in the keester. I was getting so mad at this level just now that it destroyed my desire to complete the game. I just want to skip to Jak 3 already
6. No comment
5. Ugh. Not only is this mission a pain because the symbols move too fast and are too numerous, but because Pecker's constant yapping gets grating
4. Just screw this mission. Too many guards swarming, too many buildings and civilians in the way, and it's just too hard to shoot and drive a zoomer at the same time
3. This is a prime example of why I HATE ring races, especially on twisty tracks
2. I hear there's a little cheat you can use to get through this mission. Basically, you can use the Dark Bomb ability to destroy the water bot and then just cruise on the water towards the exit on your hoverboard
Thanks for the tip I'll be sure to try that next time.
top 5 hardest jak 2 missions:
5- the tank mission
4- escort the kid mission
3- the temple mission
2- escort krew's men in sewers mission
1- blast bots
