Keegan bought champagne football, but he wanted backing beyond the clubs means, and when he was backed, he bought some expensive flops.

Getting off and charges dropped isn't beating it because the clubs reputation has been destroyed. Rival fans constantly use it as way of diminishing the success and achievements.
Beating FFP is being exonerated AND going after huge damage claim against those who have tried to tarnish the success

I am sure we washed his car as a part of the Princess Trust course (fund raising for a local youth centre ) we did in 99 , just before the play off final , the day after them lot won the treble , he gave us a tenner.
Top day that, got to see the kits being prepared for the play off final as we got the water to wash the cars from the laundry and part of the closed training session inside the stadium.
