- Today I'm Attempting My first ever Hardcore Nuzlocke playtrough in monotype form. And with no other than the grass typing. Which has a lot of weaknesses including 2 gym leaders and an elite four member. I decided to pick emerald since it's the game i'm most familiar with and will struggle the least in with this first time experience. So let's find out if i can beat pokemon emerald with a hardcore grass type nuzlocke.

In the hardcore nuzlocke rules, leveling up past the lvl cap of the gym leader is allowed if it happens during the gym leader battle, just saying^^
Also, he put a level cap for the rival battle

The level cap rule dosent say, that you cant use a pokemon, witch Level up druing a battle against a gym leader for exampel, so that your pokemon is a higer Level than the gym leaders ace. Its important that the level from your team is under or at the gym pokemon ace, level up during battle will be okay. Some RUclipsrs like PokemonChallanges play after this rule and level their pokemon close the level cap, for a little atwantage in the battle

@@cesarvasquez4971 no one is saying he can't use those rules, just pointing out a possible misunderstanding of them. If he knows how the rules are usually applied and choosing to do it his own way then that is fine.

Makuhita was doing so much damage with vital throws because of the Guts ability+bulk up. your paralysis saved and almost killed you when you stun spored makuhita

Funny thing is Ludicolo is my farovite grass type and Swampert my ground one, btw kinda troll you can only get Water Pulse or any good water move after the fire gym.

Favorite Grass-type has to be Roserade, and has been since 2008. Wonderful in every aspect, and arguably the most consistently good Grass-type to use in a playthrough starters notwithstanding.

So glad to see you actually use ice beam and evolve gloom before the 6th gym as both these elements were my complaints in flygon's nuzlocke of this same challenge :) Also shiftry is my favourite grass type, sunny day, solarbeam destroys late game hoenn and with faint attack at 31 and leaf stone before the 6th gym it's pretty easy to get great sweeps set up in the late game.

I was sitting in my bed today, and it was so hot last so I barely slept, so I was trying to nap. I was in this state of like half awake, half asleep, and combine that with how hot is was, I was totally in a different place. I was sweating and just trying to stay cool. I briefly adjusted my legs and I let out this massive fart. I didn't move at first but then I realized I pooed a bit. Uhhh. Anyways, this video is great. Makes my day better seeing you upload

How did wing attack from crobat miss? it normally is a 100% accurate move and not 95%. Can't seem to find it being lower accuracy in previous gens
Yeah right? That also threw me for a loop. You as the player cannot get Bright Powder before the Battle Frontier, and Metang isn’t holding it. I watched it at lowered speed and I didn’t see Sand Attack. Crobat doesn’t have Hustle.
The only explanation is that the game... glitched?
He may had the lax incense, which lowers by 5% your rival's accuracy and you can get it in mt pyre

Hey swiggo if you do a challenge like this again just remember that level caps only count until you challenge the gym leader so if your pokemon evolves beyond the level cap during a gym leader battle you can use it and you don't have to switch it it's just something I see most other hardcore nuzlockers use this rule so I thought I would let you know

I’m pretty sure that hardcore nuzlocke rules allow you to use Pokémon that are over the level cap if they leveled up during the battle.

I agree, the Dragon-Type E4 members aren't scary at all, especially Drake, since his mons typings are doubly weak to Ice. In JaidenAnimation's run, Glacia managed to kill two of Jaiden's mons, but Drake was swept by Jaiden's Walrein. Glacia is definitely more dangerous

Hey zwiggo there's a rule that flygon hg uses where if he levels up in the battle he can still use it just he cant be overleveled coming into the fight so you could use it to have a advantage

Make this a series please. Do ice types next its would be really hard since there's not a lot and there's a fighting, fire and rock gym. If it's too hard then can you do a pyscic pokemon run. Can you please name a pokemon after me.

Not a genwunner, but Bulbasaur and it's evolution line. Saved me a bunch of times on my first playthrough of Pokemon Red as a kid.

Gotta admit Zwiggo on another level for not allowing Edging (leveling up mid battle) which a lot of people use in hardcore nuzlockes

My favorite grass type is Dhelmise, I really like the concept of this pokemon, and most of all he saved me from losing a nuzlocke :)
I was doing a nuzlocke and I was against glacia and the 2 Pokémon that aren’t weak to ice that I had were in the red Sandra the sandshrew took out her glalie with dig. A true legend. Also if your Pokémon goes over the level cap during battle it can still be used.
