Thanks Sun! Great explanation on the user agent and fingerprinting. Thanks again for the great content and videos. Question, you mention T2 doesn’t allow you to spoof MAC addresses however I believe this is a default configuration in the “settings” menu on newer MacBooks. Just bringing it up because I’m am considering the new M1.
Sun Knudsen Its so hard to find this kind of information idk why. Most article in the internet just keep repeating the same basic topic, useful and detailed information so hard to get. I still learn this topic but so hard to find the sources. Good to see that someone finally bring this topic not only useful and detailed info but also easy to understand from non-security researcher point of view 👍
Sun Knudsen just notice u said spend considerable amount of time hahaha. I know how hard it's to learn and think what impact can happen since its many people ignore this thing
Another fantastic and useful video Sun. Thanks so much. I didn't know about these advanced prefs, very helpful indeed. So by enabling all these, is this all that you need to prevent IP leaks and fingerprinting on the web fully? It has me now wondering about DNS over HTTPS and all these additional features on Firefox can you get by with this alone or do you still need a VPN? On the subject on IP leaks, Firefox and remaining anonymous... I'm now very curious about what your thoughts are on VPNs? You have mentioned VPN's before on the channel, but you never mentioned any providers. I'm very new to this concept so I want to make an informed and intelligent decision. Who do you prefer and could you do a breakdown of what you think is most important in a VPN and could you do a future show on how the Firefox or Brave DNS offerings can be properly configured with the VPN? I've never used a VPN before but I'm now in the market, so your wisdom will help me take that next step. I'm looking forward to your next video!!! Whatever it is. DigN your channel brah!!!
Hey Ben, all great questions and topics of future episodes. Have a lot in store on this topic including running your own VPN server and setting up the macOS PF firewall to only allow DNS requests through the VPN. Stay tuned and thanks for all the positive energy.
Hey, depends on videoconferencing app. Using WebRTC isn’t great for privacy because one often reveals one’s IP (when not using VPN, shitty VPN or improperly configured VPN). When hardening Firefox, one looses some level of convenience. I recommend using more than one Firefox instance to mitigate this. See ruclips.net/video/Upib_vq_EB8/видео.html.
Just ran in to a problem after adjusting a few days the settings accordingly. Firefox doesn't generate any QR code used by Discord to login. Any one any idea to fix this?
Hey, yes, I believe this is caused by “privacy.resistFingerprinting” being set to “true” in “about:config”. Great for privacy, but breaks some use cases.
Hey Sun, I used this in my settings and is it normal that my browser seems faster? Like literally, fast loading of pictures and all although it break some sites but it is fast. (After re-configuring it into this).
hey sun! i followed this one, but some google online apps are no longer working like google slides (copy/paste) and it's quite a hassle since it's part of my work. can you recommend which to revert back?
I sure wish someone would explain to me how to use the bloody thing. I'm having a lot of trouble with it. It is not my default browser, and it seems not to like that, but I just want to use it for a secondary browser until I decide if I like it. So far, I'm just not sure.
Hey Jenny, feel you. Switching to a new browser can be challenging. Why did you decide to switch? Are you looking for advanced levels of privacy? This episode is pretty deep and will break things. I wouldn’t recommend implementing its suggestions unless you know your way around Firefox.
i use the same skin as you on firefox, but your's seems to be more darker for some reason , how do i get that? mine is so light that i can barely make out the difference between the tab and the top toolbar, accent bar
Hey Rutvik, I am using the following theme with no custom shenanigans. Is that the one you are using? addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/arc-dark-theme-we
hey, yes its the same theme, for some reason the accent color on windows is different to what it shows for you on mac, my whole theme looks the same so its hard to know which tab am on etc. you're looks way darker and thats what i wanted
definitely like it when you go in detail! :)
Another great video! For those first watching this, learn about creating profiles first or you'll wind up breaking things.
Great information! Thanks, Sun. You're the best.

Thank you for this video. I've been studying FireFox in order to use it in my business. Yes - the details are helpful!
Regards from Costa Rica! I just discovered your channel!
Wow, this content is followed all over the world. Thanks for reaching out and have an amazing day!
Definitely worth our time when u go to the details
Glad details are of interest to others. I spend considerable time researching them. 🤓

is it possible for you to show us what a broken website looks like, like an example, as you've mention in this video? thanks
The website wont load
yeah go in
thanks for sharing Sun Knudsen
hey sun love watching ur videos, can u make video on browser for smartphones
Thanks for the push. Have you watched ruclips.net/video/TAPYn6FC5t8/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/EiDtomF41qY/видео.html
I would not turn off security features. You must have both privacy and security that is very important to keep in mind.
holy cow this was super useful
did not know about that User Agent Stuff holy shit thats scary
idk what happened but for some reason im getting black borders on my browser after changing all your recommended settings in about;config

@@sunknudsen its called BENERGY!!!! haha and thanks you are a rare knowledgeable gem to the community bro
If you put peer connection to false, are videomeetings still possible? As we need to work remote and all know conference tools need to work properly.

Hi Sun, how are you?
Could you help with a little question?
It's possible to apply
Hi Sun,
Is there any way to use both fingerprinting and user agent at the same time. Seem FF fixed when i set fingerprint setting to "True"
Hey, does this work or apply on firefox nightly?
Dope.
hey sun! i followed this one, but some google online apps are no longer working like google slides (copy/paste) and it's quite a hassle since it's part of my work. can you recommend which to revert back?
Have you tried setting “dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled” to true?
@@sunknudsen thanks! that works. is this the only item that affects google app's functionalities?
Nice

Hey Saumya, yes! That episode is in the pipeline. Stay tuned!

Strange... perhaps it is due to color profiling of the monitor (my monitors are color calibrated).
Google meet is not working after this🤔 what should i change?
hi! were you able to resolve this one? google slides is broken too
@@gcc4426 yup, that was because of (media.peerconnection.enabled = false) as sujjested by Sun. If u turn it to true, that might help
Whoops. Lol
Dude are you Italian?
