Doing an hour of housework and some cooking has nothing to do with supporting a husbands work. Helping pay bills and being a successful wife he can be proud of supports and compliments him. Not a useless woman who does chores an hour a day then sits around watching soap operas. Never quit your job because nobody will hire an older person when he divorces you for being lazy.
A man as rich as Colin cannot simply divorce his wife. She would have a good amount of money.Her beloved son could easily depend on her.This story is stupid as hell.
In all these stories they fall in love with their coworkers nd then divorce 😊

Just as I figured. She became a lazy unemployed housewife with an hour or so work a day then gained weight letting herself go a few months after marriage. No way to keep a newlywed husband interested.
Did you even listen to the story? It isn't well-told or narrated, at times it was confusing as to which character was speaking. Here's the Coles Notes. She stopped working because he wanted her to focus on being a home-maker. She had wanted to continue with her career, he insisted she become a full-time home-maker. Which she did. He paid her back by not providing anything more than the monthly food costs, (no conversations, no time for his wife, and no intimacy at all) and having an affair with another co-worker, which it seems, actually started before he suddenly asked her to marry him. Then he has the audacity to bring his lover home and allows her to berate his wife about her appearance, and housekeeping abilities. He wanted his cake and to eat it too. Red flags throughout the story, she shouldn't have married him in the first place. So many times she was the trusting good little home -maker (unpaid housekeeper). Eric was/is such an entitled little shit, and kudos to his father for recognizing it, giving him and the lover the boot to stew in their own juices. Also kudos to Colin (the Dad) for recognizing his wife's part in the situation and getting rid of her too. The story does have potential of being better it feels more like an outline of what the author was thinking about, just needs more fleshing out, and more indicators of who is speaking for context.

Well the wife believed her husband was working. Her FIL told her that his son would be working more.
However, it seems that the ex was cheating 2 months after they got married. And only married to have a free house slave.
When you love someone you trust them. I can understand how his wife believed he was working. As soon as she suspected something with coworker she took action.
The girl friend took what she could and ran off with another. She wasn’t stupid at all. She was con artist.
