I’ve been in a toxic relationship like that, trust me when I say it never gets better. Those kind of dudes are insecure and narcissistic. Not healthy at all. My ex never physically hurt me, but after some time it would’ve escalated. I’m glad I was able to let go. Girl, don’t let fool treat you any type of way. Stay away from that psychopath.
I waited until it got physical. His alcoholism escalated from just being drunk all the time, to angry drunk, to 2 hour long verbal assault rants (literally i sat in silence for hours while he said every nasty thing he could to me), then he would pull his fist back to punch me but never did. Then finally he pinned me against a wall and squeezed me so hard like he wanted to break my ribs. I have scars from how deep his fingernails cut into my skin. That was when i realized it never gets better, and never will. Finally left. I had always kept an apartment for "emergencies" not cheap and almost thought about giving it up. I'm very glad I didnt!

Paulie's feelings for her are obssessive and possessive, if she's not paying attention to him then he gets upset. He's controling and he's starting to show signs of aggression. She pointed out the camera for a reason. Their relationship is toxic, it's stressful, and she's clearly scared. Sometimes people can remain friends after breaking up but honestly like Karen said this isn't one of those times, she needs to cut Paulie off completely.
