  • Hey Modelorian-Crew,
this video is part 2/4 of my Alpha Jet build. It's all about assembling the fuselage.
This Kinetic 1/48 scale Alpha Jet was build during a small Alpha Jet-group build in my modeling club. There was only one rule: The kit has to be build out of the box. Aftermarket decals ware permitted to use. Luckily my aircraft choice was pretty easy, because I wanted to build the Top Aces' Arctic Aggressor Alpha Jet which is one of the decals options in Kinetic-Kit K48043. I saw this particular Jet several times during my spotting visits at Wittmund Air Base, Germany over last years. The real life pictures at the beginning of the video are taken by me at such a visit.
Enjoy the video and please give me a LIKE and SUBSCRIBE, if you like what you see. Thanks a lot!
    Cheers,
    The Modelorian

Hey Modelorian, I'm building the Kinetic Alpha Jet in the Wingman Models Belgian (B) version (with extra PE and resin cockpit, seats and wheels). I must say the fit of the fuselage parts and certainly the canopy is horrible at some points. I see you encountered similar problems with your kit. What was your experience with it?

Hey Stan, thank you for your comment! 👍 Are you building the one with the splinter camo? 😍 I’m sorry to hear, that you have so many issues with the kit.
I had some issues with the air intakes, the lower fuselage where you connect the wheel bay parts to the fuselage and at the vertical stabilizer. The issues with the air intakes and the lower fuselage I tackled with Sprue Glue. It was the first time I used it and I was quite happy with the result. But it means a lot of sanding and rescribing. But that was okay compared to super glue used as filler. The smaller part of the vertical stabilizer was way to thick, so I sanded it until it was flush with the other part. Beside from all that, it was actually okay to build. The canopy fit was also okay. No issues here! I hope I could help you.
Let me know how it worked out for you. Best regards from Germany! Cheers!!!
