Bob Woods that wasn’t Sammys fault Ed was out of tune 90% (on backing vocals and guitars) of the time on RHRN. Vocally guy is as good as it gets. Guitar magazine shat ALL OVER Ed for that mess. Guitars still sounded like freezdried ass after re-recording

Fuk ya man! I was 16 years old when I bought this album, back in 1993--the 2-CD set, and I had found a little luxury in life. I've NEVER identified, lyrically, with Van Halen. Too many songs about getting stoned, rich, and laid. But the massive, high-energy atmosphere they created lights a spark in my feeble old mind to this day :) I can't believe these fuckers did this shit sometime in their 40s, but some people were born to kick ass :)
I'm 53 and have been a huge fan of Eddie since high school. He always has a smile on his face while performing. In My opinion was one of the greatest guitarists ever. I was stationed in southeast Asia back in the 1980's while in the military I can remember them playing Van Halen in the bars over there. Van Halen was popular all over the world.

I saw this concert live in Tampa and this is how they ended that show. 30 year's ago. This brings me back... everyone singing the song aloud. And for a moment everything in the World was alright. What a wonderful memory and moment.

One of the more underrated Van Halen songs.... IMO, the greatest American Hard Rock band of all time. Eddie will be missed. Sure wish he and Sammy could have mended fences and hand one last concert. Sammy was the icing on the cake for this band . Unlike Dave when Sammy played live he never screwed around with the lyrics and delivered what we hear on the albums . With Sammy their music went from great to exceptional . Rip EVH immortal .
No one has ever replicated that sound or the mastery required to pull off his style of guitar. Eddie was One of the last great players of the era and most gifted rock musicians of our time. Consider yourself blessed if you ever got to hear him perform live!
I did, in Vancouver B.C. They were amazing. I was also fortunate enough to have attended their after party at the Sky Bar after the concert - back in 2004. Absolute blast. Concert seats 3 and 4, row 9, centre stage. The stars aligned. Grateful.

June 17th 2020 I woke up from an emergency 8 way bypass to the sounds of top of the world in my recovery room. The nursing staff said they ask me if there was any music that I wanted to hear and I said top of the world. It's crazy how a band can grasp you and never let go. I first saw Van Halen in 1978 and I was hooked for life.
when rock n' roll was legendary. The 80s had to be one of the absolute best, if not the best decades for rock music... glad to have been blessed to be a part of it. I wish we could go back to these days when people weren't spending time tearing each other down on social media.
It's 1/31/2021 Eddie's 66th Birthday was 5 days ago and and he passed away almost 4 months ago and here I am listening to my favorite version of Top Of The World. Legends never die, they last forever. This music will always last forever.

This might be the best version of Van Halen. Everyone in their prime and doing their thing. Fucking magic. Hagar is pound for pound a better fit for VH than Roth. I still very much like Roth but Sammy can really belt them out.
Sammy was just more professional than Dave.....studio DLR was cool, but live he butchered his own songs! Sammy managed to be great both in the studio and even greater live. I'm an unabashed fan of Van Hagar :)

KISS AC/DC VAN HALEN now that’s a summertime party, I saw all of them and they were playing in my car wherever I was going.
I know they rose to the top with Dave but as far as I'm concerned Sammy was and will always be the voice of vanhalen.

when rock n' roll was legendary. The 80s had to be one of the absolute best, if not the best decades for rock music... glad to have been blessed to be a part of it. I wish we could go back to these days when people weren't spending time tearing each other down on social media.
It's 1/31/2021 Eddie's 66th Birthday was 5 days ago and and he passed away almost 4 months ago and here I am listening to my favorite version of Top Of The World. Legends never die, they last forever. This music will always last forever.

❤ Will always love them. It’s hard when your favorite bands are no longer. Everybody from Van Halen to AC/DC for example. So many times because of death. I’m 60 years old, and I will always cherish the memories of bands that are no longer especially due to death. All we have are memories in our heads before cell phones to record. I’m thankful for RUclips for being able to watch videos before that time whether they are good quality video or not. It’s heart wrenching to watch these videos that we were so fortunate to be able to see in person, and now, so many are no longer among us.
Yes. After all those years, I can't believe Van Halen is no more. I knew Eddie had been in ill health, but it was still a surprise to hear that he had died. RIP Eddie. 😢

Playing this song and every other song from Van Halen brings a huge smile to my face because it's Van Halen no matter who was singing in it but it always put a smile and you know when Eddie's probably about to rip out of solo you know you're going to be happy because it's Van Halen from beginning to end

This might be the best version of Van Halen. Everyone in their prime and doing their thing. Fucking magic. Hagar is pound for pound a better fit for VH than Roth. I still very much like Roth but Sammy can really belt them out.

Sammy was just more professional than Dave.....studio DLR was cool, but live he butchered his own songs! Sammy managed to be great both in the studio and even greater live. I'm an unabashed fan of Van Hagar :)
