- Good morning and welcome to this grand day, September 19th !
Maggie's Farm : Sept. 19th 1987 (now 28 years back), this rendition of Maggie's Farm was filmed for "Farm Aid III".
Being that the excellent Pro-Shot video cuts into the song at the 1 minute mark, I added the opening part which was taped by Lazy Cow, Brokedown House.
This "Maggie's Farm" was oddly positionned (but excellently executed) during the end of set 2 to place it in the Farm Aid's TV slot ...

Best cover band ever! ;>)
I'm starting to get the feeling that they have no intention to ever working on Maggie's Farm from this day forward.
Great ful dead love to you Bobby from Patti Cornell
The Grateful Dead is high on my wishlist of bands I wish I could’ve seen just once, it’s songs like this, the groove it puts you into that I love. Seen Dead & Company so I guess I’ve come pretty close to the real thing
I remember from a previous lifetime that there is a term for this. Baptism of desire. The recent group would be worth seeing if I were younger, but without Jerry Garcia it would be without its essence. I saw them do this song at Soldier Field in 1990. It was the encore, pretty incredible, drove the audience crazy. These videos are great, give the feel of the band. By the way, there's a smokin' version on RUclips of Maggie's Farm by Dylan (his song) with the Rolling Thunder Review in 1976.
i never thought I'd say this, but I miss the eighties. I was at this show - first Maggie's Farm
Right there with you 🙂
God bless the Grateful Dead
That is some darn fine audio....

at their best for sure
The Dead were the most unrock looking rock stars ever! They all looked like your dad's old friends! I'm not making fun because I love The Grateful Drad!
I love these early versions of Maggie's Farm, with only Bobby and Jerry singing.
Watching this in 2021!
Happy BDay dear ol' Jerry Sir !
Gotta say - I wish they had given Phil and Brent Verses like in The Weight. I was at this show and I think I saw a guy have a REAL bad trip. Might have been at one of the other MSG shows that year.
I'm getting the feeling that they have no intention of ever working on Maggie's farm...no more.
Brother no more ain’t conform on magi’s fend more
Love
Love the little grins after 5:20 when Bob checks over to Jerry with "you ready?"
Happy 420

Farm Aid !!!
my bedroom window is made of foam
Sadly, this concert is overshadowed by the previous night. The second set is brilliant. Listen to the 'Uncle John's Band' after the Set 2 opening 'Crazy Fingers'.
Well, yeah. But I don't think you're thinking of the same previous night. The previous night, 9/18/87, was the night with the monster Shakedown and the all time version of Morning Dew.
Yeah! Exactly! The previous night is a well-liked concert for 1987, with the Morning Dew, that 9/19/87, which has a great second set is gets 'ignored, forgotten', etc.
Agreed 100%. This show's pre-Drums "Playin" is the best version I ever saw live. I'm sorry - I misunderstood your original post. I'm thick like that sometimes, LOL.
@@joshuabyron4893 I was there and the Morning Dew was just.....wow.
Jerry had Zero Intention to work on Maggie’s Farm anymore
From parts far I more
It's all opinion. I still prefer the 11-2-85 morning dew over 9-18-87. I mean this was an awesome show. I went all 5 nights. The la Bamba in Pprovidence was more enjoyable because. Off the surprise, although it was probably played better at MSG it's all good really
cant help you mate. but top bass guitar.
I ain’t working on Abbott’s Farm no more
I just say Bob Dylan and the Band....
4:49 get outta here! Check Phil out!!👍🏼😎👍🏼
