    Just found this video, I bought my Brother machine over 40 years ago, most of the time it had been in the storage, I am glad I found this video I'll give it another go thanks for sharing.

    So thankful to see this. We lost ours in our fire. The water to put out the fire destroyed ours. Now to find an affordable replacement with a ribber.

    Fantastic video digitization from a well-preserved VHS. I'm having an all-retro experience using an analogous machine. A new sponge on the press bar and I'm ready to go. I used two layers of weatherstripping to make 1 CM high and left the peel-off, cellophane-laminated paper on it. Working greatly.

    Love the mitten pattern you showed all done on the machine. Thank you! Much easier than other methods I'd tried for the thumb.

    Thanks for putting this up - very helpful. Got a machine a while ago but have been too scared to try it! I think I'll have a go now.

    Actually there are four guages of knitting machines: Fine, standard, mid-guage and bulky. Fine is not something you see often. Standard, mid-guage and bulky are common. I am partial to the mid-guage & bulky machines.

      Ella Uche I used to machine knit many years ago and really loved it, however my circumstances changed, I had a handicapped daughter who required most of my time - so I sold my machine.
      I have recently bought a second hand machine on eBay and I must tell you how glad I was to watch your video and rekindle my knowledge of machine knitting. The video was very explicit, spoken clearly by someone who I could understand perfectly, I could almost feel the machine transfer tools in my hand again as I watched!
      Can you tell me where I can get machine knitting patterns from? I gave all of mine away when I sold the machine.
      Thank you so much.

    And I thought my Serger was intimidating. If I would go for a knitting machine, I would want a fine gauge machine. I want to do Barbie size cardigans. Do they come in a really small size?

    Not mentioned completely, but: Knit a gauge swatch, and don't forget to block it! Yeah, she left out blocking; merely, resting. No. Block it, then measure it. Then you'll really know.

      @Lightanddarker  9 лет назад +15

      Diane Soper Arelia Esthela Dominguez I'm sorry I don't know the date, but from the fashion and especially the hair I'd say it was definitely 80s

    • @JasperJanssen
      @JasperJanssen 6 лет назад

      Lightanddarker the titles and video effects look like they would have been made on early Amigas, so I’d definitely say mid eighties. Too far into the seventies, there didn’t exist VCRs, so videos like this for home consumption wouldn’t have existed either.
      This is also pretty clearly from the UK, not the US, and the UK got VCRs a little later.
