I am both amazed and dumbfounded. I admire your dedication, and there is no doubt that the room is beautiful, organized, and functional. I have no idea how you do all that for your homeschool.
Thanx for sharing! I'm just starting out and I find videos as these with organizing and a bit of structure, helpful! Bless you and your family for your diligence!
I also sponsor with Compassion. I think that is a great idea for children! Do you get the magazines for your children? They have activities included and some recipes of foods from around the world. Great homeschool setup!
Hi Jolanthe, as far as getting your materials ready for homeschooling, how do you organize your time? When do you prepare? Did you make your own lesson plan based on the year level curriculum? And lastly, do you have a househelp to tidy up after all the mess is made and prepare meals and do chores? Im asking because i have 2 kids i plan tp bwgin homeschooling but i do not have a househelp. Hope to hear from you on these questions i have and hopefully learn from your homeschooling experience too... it was nice to see your posts and i say keep it up... this is a great legacy.
I usually spend some time every Sunday afternoon getting things ready for the upcoming week, like straightening up the room and making sure everything is ready. I do much of my overall plans at the beginning of the school year, as far as an overview of what we will be doing throughout the year. I try to evaluate how we are doing every six weeks as well. I do not have any help that comes in at this point. Most of our schoolwork is typically finished by 2 and our kids help out with basic chores as well, but I do the cooking and cleaning for the most part (kids help vacuum and with laundry). Making meals ahead and storing them in the freezer has been a huge help and timesaver. Sometimes I spend a Saturday with a friend prepping meals and can get a lot done for the upcoming months.
I am curious as to what the name of the IKEA kid's desks and chairs are called. Also, have you figured out how much was spent setting up the room as far as furniture and organizational supplies goes? I am curious if you don't mind sharing. I am a homeschool mom with 5 kids and we also have a homeschool room, but I like how yours functions. You seem to have the organization down pat. :-) I would love to work on my set up. Thanks for sharing your room. I love it!
It's been several years since we purchased everything, but the bulk of everything was from Ikea, which helped tremendously on cost. We've only replaced the chairs because they were plastic and we had a few chair tippers that ended up cracking the backs. We found replacement chairs at Ikea that were red and had hard backs, so that helped a lot. :) I want to say it was about $1200 for everything, but we considered it a great investment since much of the furniture can be used elsewhere around the house as well if we ever move or decide to mix things up. The bookcases alone are so worth it! :)
If you have a darur that can go in the girls room you can tale here that she can go in the girls room and she can rekordit the girls room so you don`t bump your had
