Let me know how you liked this refashion!!
I hope it will serve as some inspiration for your own refashions also!
Evelyn Wood the blouse is absolutely yummy! I love the frill. This is such a fun challenge to the imagination.
I love the way you explained the changes you would have done after you wore it. I also love the additional "Did you know.." at the end of the video. Thanks. Very inspiring.
Love, love, love the blouse! So clever with the trimmings. I have bought sheets and duvet covers from my local charities shops and turned them into dresses, but really love your shirt! X X x
You can tuck the back part of the scarf into the back of the shirt or you can put on the scarf first just a thought
absolutely amazing. love your remakes.
I’ve been sewing for 60 years and love watching your process in transforming mens shirt. Other than mending or altering clothes my sewing has always been new construction. This has opened up a whole new avenue for me.
Oh I love how you used every last bit of lace and made it look purposeful.
This blouse is so beautiful and fun! I have never been one to wear "feminine" shirts with any success, but I think I could wear that to advantage
It turned out absolutely beautiful!
I'm a simple woman I see Evelyn posted a new video I click
Yay!!!! Thankyou!! I how you like this one!! It is one of the best videos I've edited so far!
Evelyn Wood the ruffle front is darling!😍
Another really incredible remake - no-one would ever guess this had been a men's shirt. Those cuffs, using only that tiny amount of lace you had left, absolutely superb :) ! This (and your other refashions) has really inspired me to get moving, I am going to upload a video soon of a refashion because this has inspired me to kick into gear on my projects. Thankyou for always giving us all such great inspiration to get sewing! xx
I'm glad to hear your so inspired!! Im excited for your projects!!!
I really like the detail on the cuff!
What a fantastic refashion! I watched this with my husband, and he was completely blown away by your talent. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Aww that's so nice!!
I love how your blouse looks. It really doesn’t look like it was ever a man’s shirt. Your talent is amazing as is your imagination. I love watching your videos!
Sometime could you show us how to make a 1930’s skirt, there is one, I believe is called tulip. A refashion or tutorial.
You know I am wanting a skirt in this shape!!!
Evelyn, you are a first class act! Your videos are like watching a real 1930s woman show us how to sew! You are creative on so many levels, including videography, setting the scene, and of course sewing and designing genius! And your little accent just polishes off the picture! I just want to add, your blouse turned out so darling! I want one!!!
Aww thankyou so much! That's quite a compliment! 😄
Another amazing video Evelyn! Your creativity inspires me! Being of a fuller figure it is difficult to find true vintage clothes in my size, however following your techniques I can actually refashion regular clothing....like a men’s shirt , into something totally adorable and vintage feeling.😊
Yes you can do exactly that!!
I love the matching cuffs.
Like the little lace edged fans on the sleeves.
Super talented as usual. Makes me wanna go through my husband's wardrobe in search of refashionable shirts!
An absolutely brilliant makeover on that shirt. I’ve kept several shirts that belonged to my late father. I just couldn’t bear to part with them. Now I’m inspired to remake them. Thank you so much!
Wonderful!! I think that will be a really wonderful way to re use them! 😀 And remember you can always practice on a thrifted one first 😉
I am so very grateful for your creative process vintage-inspired refashions. I sew for my daughter's high school drama club and have often used one garment to create another for vintage look costumes and I love seeing someone else's creative process to help inspire mine.
It is crazy how great ideas you always have!:) You look just gorgeous in this remade shirt! I loooove the cuffs!
Girl you are so creative! I've turned a man's shirt into an apron and had left over pieces of fabric. Now I'm inspired to figure out how to use allparts of the shirt to make an apron. Thank you Evelyn!
So pretty! The cuffs are so cute. I don't know how you do it! Even if the starting garment is boring or modern or just not right, you can somehow get a spot on replica (or near enough!) of your inspiration!
haha thank you!! Refashioning will never be a replica of course! That is for pattern drafting! But I guess I just see things and know what I will be able to replicate it!
Yeah, considering the limitations, it's increidbly impressive.
That cuff is adorable!!
WOW!. so many issues you had to work with and it still came out awesome. Thank You.
You are such a clever lady Evelyn. The top looks so fabulous on you
I'm sooooo in love with this shirt!! The neck line, the brochure to the collar, & cuffs are just awesome details!
This is so wonderful when fabric is expensive and pattern in the unbelievable price range, yet we throw and give away things with large amounts of lovely useable pieces. Not only is this fantastic imagination and simple skills, but this is so true to the time period belief that you used things up, made do, and didn’t waste! Here in Portland, Oregon I could buy that shirt from a thrift store for between $1.29 and $6.99, even less at a yard or garage sale! Blush, I have a large amount of “interesting fabric items” bought just for a second use.
I agree with using what you've got!! You can create so many amazing things from existing clothing!!! I too have alot of peices waiting for refashioning!
Evelyn Wood I just picked up a new book, Gertie’s Ultimate Dress Book: A Modern Guide to Sewing Fabulous Vintage Styles. Have you seen it, and do you have an opinion? I checked, and it is available from Amazon Australia. Years ago I visited Melbourne for the World Science Fiction Convention. That made a great excuse to bribe my son and a friend to Visit and go play on the Great Barrier Reef and visit an old friend in New Zealand. I fell in love with NZ! It was so like Oregon in the 1950s when I was growing up. Not enough book stores!
Love the frills on the cuffs that mirror the neckline. Excellent creativity.
So inventive!! Very clever use of trim, scraps and buttons!! You go girl!
You are fantastic. The shirt do over turned out fabulous. The cuff on the sleeve is very unique with that bit of lace.
I absolutely love what you did with this mans shirt! What you did with the cuffs compliments the bodice part. Beautiful!
Yes what a QUEEN I love this
Omg!!! I couldn't wait for your next refashion video...A M A Z I N G! I absolutely love it, inspired me to see what I could do with all my vintage bf shirts, thank for you sharing another wonderful video!!!
You definitely inspired me. Already asked my friend not to throw away his luxury shirts after the collar wears out! Very high quality materials on his shirts. Thanks a lot, Evelyn!
I think that was a brilliant idea for the cuffs!
Hello Evelyn, I am still filled with admiration for your talent, especially for your technique to adjust perfectly any clothe to your size at first sight, without taking any measurement. And the sleeves' cuffs are very very pretty and elegant
Thank you!! A lot of practice!
Would like to say I just love watching your videos, it's relaxing and fun to watch not to mention inspiring! 👍💖
Terry Lee Thankyou so much!!! I hope I can inspire you to create your own fashion too!
How did I miss this video? SO CUTE. I would totally wear this top in a heartbeat. I love the neck detail and cuffs.
Just over the last year I've started messing around with altering t-shirts and things to personalize the fit. This particular video prodded my creativity along. Now I have to hit up the thrift store for a more challenging project. Your blouse turned out adorable. I love your whole aesthetic.
Thankyou!! I'm glad it's inspired you to your own refashion work!
Pure genius! Thank you for sharing.❤
I love your restyled the men’s shirt.
This is fantastic. I love the result - what you did with the cuffs and the tiny bit of lace you had left is nothing short of genius!
Fantastic transformation! The cuffs are my favorite!
Well, hello & hi dear Evelyn, another winner look blouse that you transformed; and to think it was a man's shirt!!! Mama mia! You are very creative, skilled, talented & any other adjective that one find to describe your work. You took your training well! Once again, your diligence & patience has paid off. What I also admire about your makeovers, is that I, (or anyone for that matter), can buy fabric to create the particular garment which you made from an already existing piece. That is so fascinating!! On our own, we may never have thought to do something quite so unique. Aaah!!! Finally, the glue which puts it all together, is your charming personality. I really do enjoy watching your videos. Looking forward to seeing more. Bless up. Caribbean girl, as usual.
Aww Judy thankyou! That really is so nice of you to say!! And I agree! It is easier perhaps to just make the blouse from a length of fabric and a pattern, which is why I love the creativity needed for refashioning! And if course thrifting instead of buying new! I'm so glad it might have given you a way to look at refashioning a little differently! X
Oh my! What a cute transformation!
BRAVO! A beautiful transformation right down to the bow pin ... the use of the pearlized buttons is brilliant ... and finally, the last bits of lace at the cuffs is the flourished period at the end of your sentence which delightfully ties the whole project together. P.S. your vision of turning something so masculine into something so feminine is genius.
Thankyou so much!
This has actually inspired me to tackle tailoring some of my husband's store-bought shirts to fit a bit better. Actually that would be a great video featuring the fellas or those of us who sew for them!
One last comment: Another solution for the neckline ruffles: Make them from lace! They would co-ordinate beautifully.
Yes lace frills would look great also!!
What an outstanding transformation, Evelyn. Well done.
Thanks so much Dorothy!! I hope you've been creating your transformations still? X
You are remarkable.. you explain things effortlessly. Love it!!!!
I've been looking to transform my husbands shirts, the fabric is so nice and I hate to have them go to waste. Thank you for your inspiration!
That was a great transformation Evelyn! Thrifted shirts, especially when older good quality ones, are great for upcycling. I bought an XL baby blue shirt and transformed it into a bloomer set for my grandaughter. The fabric was so soft and easy to work with and I managed to use an old 1950s baby pattern I had found in the same shop. I used vintage buttons, so only the thread was new. I even had enough fabric left over to make some summer cushion covers. I haven't had the courage to transform anything for myself yet but your videos are so inspiring, I may give it a try! But first I have to learn how to make clothes that fit me better, so that's the next objective. Thanks again for your inspirational videos :)
I really enjoyed seeing the fitting process, as that is one part that always trips me up. The cuff pieces were truly inspired and I always enjoy your refashions.
Thanks so much for watching Amanda!
What you did with the lace bit on the cuff is exactly what I would have done. You're good. You're really good !
Lovely transformation; your sewing skills know no bounds! TFS.
Gee thanks!!
You are a designer extraordinaire !
Love watching your creative and unique fashion transformations. Always inspiring and fresh.
That is a perfectly darling blouse, but that cuff reveal with the tiny bit of lace made me squeal!
You are just amazing! I so enjoy the creative process that you share with us! The blouse looks like those worn by working women in the 30s....at least in the movies from that era. I watch other folks' videos, but none are like yours.....I appreciate your channel so much! And, yes, you look adorable in that top! The cuffs turned out so much nicer than I could imagine.
Thank you Sharon! I do like creating the videos as well, it is something I have had to learn to do, and I hope I can create something unique and interesting with them! x
I don’t sew but wish I could. Recently found your channel.
I absolutely love your look. Compared to some U tubers, you are a lovely lady.
Makes me wish I had lived during those years.
Lastly, you are very creative and talented.
Thanks so much!! I'm glad to have you around! X
Wow! What a change. I love the detail on the cuffs. I think it makes the redo really special.
Yes me to Johanna!! I needed to sleep on it to get that idea! But it just makes too I think!!
I really dig vintage!
Loved watching the shirt refashion process while working on my corset sewing
Absolutely love this. A very saucy little top, makes me think of Paris.
Excellent sleeve cuff detail!
Such a great men's shirt refashion. I have two very large women's shirts in my closet that need to be refashioned. You are an inspiration to sewing and vintage style. Thank you!
Thankyou!! Good kuch with those refashions!!
I love seeing your creative process. Kisses from a Brazilian sewer enthusiast living in Canada.
I love how you think out of box
THIS IS SUMP-TU-OUS! It is a genious transformation, thank you so much for sharing your skills and your creativity!
OMG I loooooove this!! I'm still a beginning sewer but I saved this video for when I have a few more skills.
Not only are your talents amazing and inspirational ... you are absolutely stunning !!!👏🏻💖
Absolutely adorable

I will soon be a fashion designer with a charming studio inside ... and serve tea♥️
You are amazing! What an incredible challenge you gave yourself and you met the challenge so beautifully and creatively! I can’t imagine how much work it was but what satisfaction!❤️
thankyou so much!! It is alot of work, but so satisfying!
Love it! I really like the button embellishment for the gathered bits at the collar! It Really makes the piece pop! As usual Evelyn, a beautiful job!
Thank you so much!! I have my late Father' s dress shirt and I wanted to wear in a more feminine way as a tribute to him!!! I love it and yours looks amazing!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The blouse is beautiful. What a wonderful transformation! You are truly talented.
Amazing transformation! The matching cuffs tie the whole ensemble together, in my opinion. You are a creative genius! Love this look! You are adorable, by the way! So glad I found your channel! Great way to combine my favorite pastimes: thrifting and sewing!

You truly have a gift... Beautiful
I love how this turned out! Such a feminine look from a man's shirt I wouldn't have guessed. Love the lace, love the frills and gathers, love the pearl buttons! And it is just the right amount of fitted vs ease. Definitely an inspiration for my own future alterations!
