Man i appreciate you doing this video. I have bought 2 ho pumps and they aint much better than stock and i run super thick super sticky bar oil so this modification is gold to me
Thanks bud. I run a g660 on my logosol mill with a 20 inch bar and the factory oil pump was anemic at best. I followed your walk through and woah did it make a difference. I’m a welder so I have all kinds of sanders and grinders, but I found using the file that comes with a raker gauge worked great. Since it has no cutting edge on the thin sides it’s easy pin point where you’re removing material.
Howdy Mitch, Excellent video I've ben logging for 20 years with a old 230D Timberjack and 660s it never crossed my mind to modify the oil pump so thank you for sharing your video
I've noticed that the pinion return springs on some farmertec oil pumps are not as stout and can cause the pinion to float at higher rpms and not pump as well in the cut
Wish I could send you my pump and pay you to modify it. I rarely have time to mess with my saws as I'm only how 2 or 3 days a month but my 660 farmer tech oil pump won't hardly oil a 20 inch bar let alone the 32 I need to have on there.

Awesome 👌 video sir 👏

I've noticed that as well and think it has more to do with the bore fit. Some of the other models are pretty tight and get stuck.

How did you get the brass plug out of the end of the oil pump? At the end of that long shaft with the ramp angled gear on it
On ms361 and ms460 you gotta clamp vise grips and twist it free. Just a plug driven in
