@tara k exactly, it's mere onomatopoeia of shooting, of course the point is not that a partisan plays with a toy-lorry full of candies on his carpet. If you prefer, use "trakatrakatrak", it's like "ra-ta-ta-ta".
Who wouldn't come to adore to the point of fetishism - as wonderfully illustrated in this song - a nearly magical weapon that could and would save its owner and their comrades from countless fascist devils in rapid succession? Trakatrakatrak!
No wonder they're singing about their machine gun. Guerilla forces - even such extensive ones like the Yugoslav partisans - always suffered from lack of heavy weaponry. In small unit engagements even one old battered down LMG could mean a difference between victory and death
Yeah since they were mostly equipped with captured Karabiner 98k and Italian Carcano, as well as domestic M24 (licensed Kar 98k), especially before Western Allies started supplying equipment via air drops in late 1943.
Photo used for this clip btw is shot on the day operations for liberation of Belgrade started, October 19 1945. Soldiers (including girl-soldiers) are listening to the motivation speech. Glory to the combatants.
@@vargabalint4765 Really fits well, considering that the first loss during the NATO bombing was when a Yugoslav soldier gunned down a drone with his M-84 machine gun through a transport helicopter :)
Well, it's сharacteristically onomatopoeia for slavic languages. In Russian language, we also pronounce the sound of a machine gun firing in a similar way (We have many other onomatopoeias for firearms firing).
By the way, in russian language there is a obscene word "Ebat'sya" (jebátʹsja) and it means not only "to have sex" but also "to do difficult work" (for example, to repair a machine gun).
Vladimir Nazor je bio Hrvat, a napisao je pjesmu o stradanju Srba (Majka pravoslavna), kakvu nije nijedan Srbin. Ne dijeli nas dodatno, ionako smo podijeljeni.

Are you sure? The colour of the flag seems Croatian. Given how the red star has the same shade as the top of the flag.
@@andro7862 It's a Yugoslav partisan flag. The order of colors was not important at the time, all these flags were OURS in 1944.
Godless traitors.
1945?
Wasn’t Belgrade already liberated in November 29, 1943?

GFL players: Wow, this is literally me!
Legends say that a Yugoslav soldier made a kid with some metal...
They named their newborn "Tito"
@k3p0 YT an italian partisan who fought in Jugoslavia named his sons: Tito and another Giuseppe that Is Josip in italian
Later scientists studied that metal and realized that it was stronger than any other known metals and alloys. They called that metal:
Titanium.
Titonium
There Is a pretty similar song of the italian partisans called "Col Parabello in Spalla"
