Hey, Jermaine. Can you please do a video interviewing local shop owners about changes they are experiencing after the pandemic, how they are surviving now that more people buy online, etc? Here in London many small clothes shops and restaurants have closed down and only large chain-owned ones are still open, which make the city quite repetitive as you can find the exact same things in every neighbourhood. This has taken a lot of character out of places as local businesses are vital to each community.
People need to be relentless and continue to create and start over and evolve with the times. Don't let this situation keep you down!

The residential buildings with the intricate woodwork are Vctorians constructed before the 1906 earthquake. After WWII, owners frequently removed the decorative trim to make the buildings look more modern. That was until the early 1970s, when Victorians became fashionable again. Highly sought after by many who rushed to buy them, even the Jerry-built ones not really worth the money.

That McDonald's closed down before the pandemic. It closed due to the violence and vandalism from the homeless and drug addicts in the park. I went there all the time and talked to the staff.
Would you describe this area as unique? I know a bit of the history. I'll be in SF in October for 1st time from Indiana. Would you suggest this neighborhood to tour history?
Definitely check this area out. Good high end shops in the area as well as mom and pop shops

Come by Haight and Ashbury sometime chat with is hippies on the corner we are a lot nicer and more fun than we look... We can give you some history about the Haight.. do you know about the 420 clock on the corner of Ashbury? Come by sometime I'm Kaleigh but everyone calls me lamp. The tour guides don't tell you all the awesome history

Had coffee with a friend at Trieste. She mentioned her dad in a suit and she in a fluffy dress with patent shoes and lacy white socks touring the Haight in the 60’s. Then it was LSD now it’s METH and tents.....
7:36 the top part of the buildings is called a "Facade"... Great video but I wish you show us across the street side of Haight as well ...I like someone to show all the stores..thanks

Thanks so much for exploring this neighborhood one more time. This, of course, is what I think of when people talk about SF. Love the old architecture - big old rooms facing the street with bay windows decorated with detail work, high ceilings and windows- not making bldgs like that anymore. I'd rather live in one of those apts than any high rise. They have a kind of character that makes you imagine all the scenes - if these walls could talk. We love you, Jermaine
