The housing market has reached a point of market failure. Meanwhile politicians play games with the poorest people in Australia. Absolute shame on them.
Thank you ABSOLUTELY 💯, and the economy is beyond repair now. Makes you wonder if you're going into the second great depression, it was already tough living on centrelink post-covid. It's just gotten worse, and the politicians are lazy they don't care.
The last 2 years have been hard enough. We don't need this added pressure at the hardest time of our lives.
@T Z well awake and well aware, i agree mate.
we should make a point system for politicians , if they dont do what they should or any shady dealing , cut off payments !
Politics should be voluntary
If only..! 😔
@@tonyjones5302 yep, then only the wealthy could afford to do it.
This makes so much sense
yes
Easy to sit there in your high paid 5 hour a week job and laugh while others suffer isn't it ?? ... disgusting .
there are people in wheel chairs working to support themselves so get a job
you do realise they work more than 5 hours a week don't you?? they also work during the day.
@@eplmait3409 There is more people in Australia who want a job, than there is jobs. It's a simple fact. In fact the government doesnt want full employment - because then wages would rise too quickly and cause inflation.
The government creates unemployment, then blames people for not having a job.
Unemployment is at 3.9% it’s very easy to find work rn. I see multiple job hiring posters everywhere. Seriously we are running out of workers and I think this is perfect time for them to introduce new system. Plus they give 1 month time where payments will not be effected. Full time worker work 40hrs pw, unemployed people can at least utilities few hours pw to honour the requirements. Also, these days these systems are enforced by systems engineers who take account for world view so I am sure they are already trying to accommodate the vulnerable people in the system.
@@dk2845 The unemployment rate is artificial for starters if you work an hour a week your not counted as unemployed.Think about ot mate. All these do called jobs after the pandemic wiyh all the businesses going to the wall.
It's amazing that a man who grew up in public housing with a single mother on a pension can go to university and thank Australia by crucifying the poor and weak.
Good bloke!
I work so it's not about me
The old mate's network.....have you not heard about it?
Yeah it's typical forgetting about the struggle when your at the top.
It's kind of an unfair report though, they didn't invite the new government to comment, all comments were from the department. For all we know Labor may be planning to scrap or modify the system but they never asked them to comment!
This government has been in office for just over a month. Yes they need to undo it but it's wasn't this government that did this. The best way to fix this is email your local federal politician.
Did you miss the part where they said the changes were brought in by the previous government?
Why is it I as an unemployed person, I never heard anything about this until now. I have to deal with the department but I don’t trust it, I often don’t understand there rules etc, cause they always seem to change without notice or cause. But worse are some of the contracted providers.
Yes it came out this week, mutual agreement whatever make over. Starts -4 July 2022.
Well said Sandgroper. I couldn't agree with you more.
Why do they never consult the actual people that it is going to affect, the voters and the unemployed.
Yeah I am the same, I am in the DES side of things and my provider haven't told me anything about it yet and I just stumbled across it yesterday then this today. I know COVID has affected things and maybe that's why they haven't mentioned that but such huge changes and not many people seem to even be aware of it.
@@pronumeral1446 good question. They seem not to think about those it'll affect at all yet those it does affect are the ones who should be asked about it as it affects them. I personally don't see how making it more difficult to have the time to find a job with all these activities you need to do helps, from no experience it makes it worse, not better.
How are the unemployed supposed to get 100 points if they study full time for 20 points?? It would be funny if it was'nt so Looney.. another reason to blame the unemployed for their position in life even though there are very little jobs... I was cut off twice as they could'nt find my Dr. certificate on their file. It causes hardship when you direct debit and the money simply is'nt there.. No one will hire me as I had 2 major heart attacks this year and they know it. So now I have'nt got 20 points to get a pension. Cheaper to keep me on New Start.. Hope they don't cut me off for this. I'm sure they'll read it...
The government has always stated they worked towards suicide prevention , unsure what impact on the vulnerable Australians this will have on each and everyone of them and us will have....😪
I got paid today. I have 17 dollars for food for the next fortnight.
Suicidal is understated.
My body ached from all the walking I have to do because the bus service is shocking in northern Tasmania, I can't afford a car, let alone food.
How am I meant to work, one i starving, height 5,11.. I weigh 51kgs last week.
And two, I have no way to get to work.
And I suffer from bipolar, so a versatile job is important, or I burn out and refuse too work for years later.
I can't do it. I'm cold and shaking and I'm sore. I'm tired 🤕😑
It's seems I nurse myself back into a better state of mind, for the system to deliver so much pressure. Seriously has felt a dead end street for a long time, no matter how hard I try to change it
@@TassieJake I'm so sorry to hear that 😢, the government have no idea

Welcome to my world!! I'm on a disability support pension, I feel sorry for everyone on centrelink. We can't live, we are bearly surviving.. the system is deplorable!!!
Bearly surviving? So you hibernate during the winter and eat berries and wild salmon? Sounds good.
@@bikebasket9594 quiet literally yes!! A deep freezer is the only way to make sure food can last long enough, and to make sure you don't run out of food. Have you ever been so poor you're afraid of running out of money to buy food??? I guess not so how about you quit making a joke about it. People on centrelink have been doing it tough for years post-covid, and it's only just gotten worse.
@@claremammen1657 I know it must be hard getting a job when you’re in a wheelchair but I think you should at least try.
@@bikebasket9594 I had a job, also for the record it's not easy to get a job In rural small towns. From my experience employers don't like to employ people with a disability because they think we aren't capable enough, or they don't want to employ us to send the extra money to train you properly.
@@bikebasket9594 also Im not in a wheel chair, at one point I was as a child. I held down the job I had working in a nursing home for 5 months. I lost my job, and got discriminated for not telling them I had high functioning autism, they also didn't like me because I did my job and filed a report on a nurse for not wearing PPE, and because I can't work over 30 hours a fortnight. I've been told I can go for unfair work dismissal, but it's not worth it at the end of the day because I want another job.
I just had a look at the points thing. EVen as a rich person I find this unacceptable. I couldn't work it out! Wow. Evil
Huh? Did anyone hear of this change coming? Did anyone hear of any discussion in parliament relating to this? Do the MPs even know?
Is this the way government and government departments work?
This will only work your dealing with computer literate people who are use to managing assignments well, in other words people who have been employed or university/tafe training. Most unemployed don’t have computer or internet requirements meet to end this. This will end in legal action against the government.
Workfarce !
They won’t even recognise my 45 hours this week of self employment, as self employed can’t report hours and work without jamming the computer system, so I still have to apply to jobs with the risk of ruining what I already have.
This is China point systems
Wow . Literally everything that's been reported is the opposite of what it is .
I don't know how the project can get away with this .
My wife has Asperges. She wants to work. She is now in her early 50's. No one wants to employ her cause she's different.
Any change to Welfare will always be worse for the end user, never listen to what they say.
NDIS was touted as being great and empowering and well look at that.
Work for the Dole has been proven to be useless.. (and slave labor when you think about it)
The list goes on.
Workforce staff are using vile bullying techniques on me, and trying to use deal making techniques with me about law !!!
I am 60 and self employed, but they refuse to acknowledge my rights and the federal legislation that applies to my obligation level and refuse to understand the way self employment works and is calculated.
They shout, threaten, accuse and try to destroy what you are building etc etc.
Whom should they be reported to - ombudsman or the dept of fair trading for bullying and enforcing legislative breaches? They are in full awareness, and have been shown by me the written govt legislation.
I love how so many people are just saying “get a job, it’s easy; oh there’s so many signs up etc.” Y’all are probably the people who don’t understand, that unfortunately, the way our economic system works at the current moment, the government and the economy, need there to be a certain percentage of unemployment.
I ain’t gonna make out like I understand the whole concept enough, but it kinda sucks that this system needs people to suffer for it to keep afloat.
This system shouldn’t have to SHUNT ANYONE DOWN just to LIFT ANOTHER UP.
This is ridiculous, instead of helping they make it so hard for people to get paid...
No need to fear. Robodebt worked well so I’m sure this will too.
Yeah Robodebt was horrible, people literally committed suicide because of it.. Shows how evil our previous government was, I just hope Labor does not follow in the same footsteps..
I did not...i am still fighting my robodebt...i am very ill because of it.
Terrible not every one can afford internet
That comment by the guy on the panel about "200 points & platinum status" was low!
Till one day he finds himself unemployed. I wonder what degree he would have for employment other than his big mouth on a talk show
Tax the rich

Please Labour save the people from LNP deaths.
I started a small mobile handyman welding business late last year are have declared all earnings from it proving that it is a legitimate business with an ABN, liability insurance etc.
I had an appointment with a job provider this afternoon and was basically laughed at and told that i need to provide 100 points per month to qualify for payment regardless of the fact that i have jobs i need to quote but am unable to due to the recent weather events.
I was also told that quoting work doesn't qualify for the points system.... I'm not sitting at home doing nothing. I'm having a go but it doesn't seem to matter.
I feel like just giving the whole thing up but i will press on.
can you use a one eyed welder on your team,i have a lot of expireance use to weld exuast pipes for walkers
Amazing you would think after the robodebt fiasco they would stop shutting service Australia offices for a start.
Albo sacked the head of services Australia for a reason.
A few tweaks were needed to the old system to make it more humane.
I am amazed the new PM has gone on trips and kissed butts instead of dealing with the issues that matter like the one described in the program above.
@Mark J Maxwell Thanks for letting us know that comfortably smug gent with the beard (former Head of Services Australia) has been removed from his job. I was amazed at the time that he was able to keep his position, after the nationwide damage caused by Robodebt. You all do realise that he continued to receive a large salary after that, with his tidy 12½% superannuation contributions, and probably a cushy payout for going quietly. Rights and benefits that his clients would never be granted in a thousand years 👎
Are u really that surprised ?? .... really ??
there is a Minister for that the same as there is for Education and Defence its why we Have Parliamentarians
All part of the plan..
Then fight against it …they have been telling you the plan …generations past would be ashamed at the compliance
Wow the project are actually making jokes after the report? I'm shocked.
An informant for the federal government deleted a royal commission into police informants submission that detailed the use of job service providers as informants. This is them trying to take care of the problem quietly.
Serious story with serious consequences for Australians.. First up, let's just have a good laugh about it.. Good one guys.

Australia Centrelink system and their staffs very worse, they suffering people on Centrelink benefits.
I agreed, this program not work for people on Centrelink benefits because they are disadvantaged people with different circumstances specially people sick illness.
Remove this program immediately!.
Just leave disadvantage people alone, stop bullying them. Let them be.
Did albo change it? I haven't heard anything recently
the other issue is becouse they count gross instead of net pay if your paying high taxes and low net the gov sees it like well his earning 2 grand when in reality im earning 1k and the expenses are 1500
I don’t want persons who produce 6 children without either of them having a job listened to for hours and hours about some new way they can screw another 400 a week out of the tax-payer by some poor underpaid customer service person. Let them go on an objective website and see if they still want it. Go work as an aged-carer, there is a shortage

Hopefully now people who are just being lazy will decide accepting a job and actually working is easier than doing all these requirements. At the moment if you enrol in a certificate 3 in child care course and go looking you will find ten jobs in less than a day. A critical shortage in our industry.
People with disabilities should definitely have different requirements because some genuinely are not able to work and that’s fair enough.
Disability Support Pension is just that;. I’m not sure that you understand what this actually means. It’s been something that they have slowly been building up to for 15 years. Participation interviews (demanding that the disabled prove that they can’t participate in paid work, or that they enter into an employment pathway) every 6 months for example; even for those who have proven beyond any doubt, that they have no chance of recovering. Now it’s going to become even more strict. My specialists have been trying to get me NDIS help for a couple of years, and because of their automated BS; I’ve been turned down every 6-8 weeks (even when people who can function better then myself, and have family and social supports, can get NDIS no worries);.. if Centrelink now uses the same system;.. I’m screwed.
Who is paying for the cert3? Vocational courses aren't free..even if you can get a concession..Then there's the issue of getting to the actual classes if you don't have access to transport..and paying for course materials like textbooks..Some people are in a situation where they don't even have enough suitable clothing to attend a course, leave alone look for a job .
@@MickeyGee73 I hear ya.
I’ve just done a cert III in health administration (TAFE online);.. no not cheap at all; I’ve made my conditions much worse (poor diet, and stress) and guess what;… I still can’t get a job;…. because I’m disabled. I’m trying my best; I really am.
@@MickeyGee73 You can go to an op shop and get clothes for a few dollars. Centrelink pays for the course. I was on a payment for a short time used the system to get a qualification and a job now I have my diploma in early childhood paid for by my employer who will pay for my uni course in early child hood too when I start it soon. Some people honestly can’t work I know a whole majority who can’t be bothered.
@@rachelkillcare5203 a lot has changed over the years, they don't subsidies as many courses
When your worried you need to work smarter to smart and that may mean asking one person or more anything you may not understand about the new changes so you can make the right choices
Wow; did I just read that right?
Disabled people should work smarter?
Disabled people are dis-ABLED.
At $300 per week below minimum wage, I think surviving on that is challenging enough.
Nobody chooses to live that way. The dole, yes; some do buck the system (that’s just unemployment without a permanent medical cause)
The disability pension means physical, and psychiatric evidence by multiple high ranking MO’s to prove that you are permanently incapacitated.
You are absolutely right but I imagine its going to be hard for awhile. People can ask but the trouble is that the people they will be asking probably won’t have a clue ether. Unfortunately Centrelink error (computer or human) is the reason for most debts.

@Call Sign Bob They're a Tamil family from Sri Lanka (called Ceylon in the old days). Came here claiming refugee status, and probably thought having two children born in Australia would green light them to stay.
