That wouldn't really be a 'play' that 'didn't count' the perfect game wasn't a single play, and nothing about what happened 'didn't count', everything just happened and it was called incorrectly
I forget who made the catch, but I've seen a highlight of a guy who made a catch behind the back of the defender tackling him. Think it was an Alabama player. The DeAndre Hopkins catch made me think of that
@Geter Priffin When stopping it on the frame this time stamp is he is clearly on while the ball is in the air. It also appears the defender is coming back to the line making it even more on when the ball was played.
May not be the best play to not count, but when Derrick Henry tossed Josh Norman off the damn field is a highlight I love and see all the time😂😂, holding on the play
That head butt puck shot was pretty cool. Never seen it before. Some really nice plays that dont count. Got a new subscriber. Was fun to watch. Great video
When the NHL official waved off the goal, he says it was because "the Chicago person deliberately headbutted the puck into the net." Does that mean the the goal would count if it was accidental?
Yep. Accidental deflection goals off of a player count in the NHL, however if they review the goal, and see that the deflection with a body part was deliberate, they will call off the goal.
Key word in your sentence is "deliberately", meaning any incidental contact between the puck and a helmet or skate will, or should, count. But if there was intent to headbutt or kick the puck in, it won't, or shouldn't, count. I say shouldn't or should because sometimes the rules can contradict themselves, like in regards to a "distinct kicking motion" or in some cases "the definition of possession of the puck".
just to be clear, for Brandon Banks' punt return (#2 on the list) ... if it hadn't been called back Hamilton would have won the game. and the game was the Grey Cup final. absolutely brutal penalty (but it was the right call...).
The goalie interference call was bogus because the goalie was not in the crease and besides that it was unintentional. And this coming from a former goalie, I always side with the tenders. But that was a bad call.
The best play that didn't count was in the 1992 Alabama Miami national championship game where George Teague ran down Lamar Thomas and stripped the ball from behind. This was after Alabama dominated the game and after Lamar Thomas and Miami talked all week leading up to the game. It was an amazing play and the drama leading up to the game made it even better.
Easily the best is the 1992 national championship game when George Teague of Alabama ran down a miami receiver and stripped the ball before he could score
They should be awarded half the goal or half the point at least! 3 pointer after the buzzer? No problem, 1.5 points! One point made after the clock? 0.50
The soccer announcer screaming, "NO WAY he was offsides!" Not only was he offsides, there were 2 players offsides on that play." Yep, that's what I call home town announcing.
Sorry to disagree with you but freeze frame the play when the ball is passed. The defender by the near sideline is playing him on by about a yard. As for any other players, they weren’t part of the play and can’t be considered for offside.
If you pause it on the frame when the ball is being kicked, he is VERY clearly onside. The other wing is in an offside position, but he's not involved in the play, and so cannot be called for offsides. This was a terrible call.
@@jeffallen55 You are correct Jeff. In soccer it's where the player receiving the ball is at the time the pass/kick is struck, not when it is received as it is in hockey.
You’re right that he wasn’t offsides, but he was even with a defender when the ball was played, possibly even a tad ahead. Doesn’t matter if all 11 guys on the other team are in front of you if you were offside when the ball was played
I'm pretty sure it's only illegal to score a goal with your head. Similarly, you can kick the puck or hit it with your hand, but you can't score a goal that way.
only if you headbutt purposely into the net. otherwise it's allowed. if you're really talented you could just flip the puck onto your helmet and skate around like that and if the other team touches it with their stick it'll be high sticking and omg i wanna see this so bad now lol
@Sjrg4 not exactly. If the puck incidentally hits any part of your body or equipment and goes in, it's fine. That's part of the reason why players try to park in front of the goalie, for deflections. But if you intentionally swipe/kick/headbutt the puck and it goes in, no goal.
1:19 dude headbutts a puck. No goal. Okay hear me out. Understand how hard a puck is, how hard it is to hit, and get the right angle. Why is head butting not allowed? As a goalie I can intentionally, and often do(check my videos), headbutt the puck away from the net. Why can the attacker not headbutt.
They can headbutt the puck, but can't score on it. It's really part of the overall rule that scoring has to come from the stick, so there's nothing specific about the head.
2:15 someone explain this to me. the guy is winding up to do the kick. Everyone can tell he's going to try it. He kicks it. The goalie is literally just standing there and lets it go in. JUMP, DIVE, TRY TO TOUCH/BLOCK IT. This is why I hate soccer. Goalies just watch balls go in. Make an effort wtf is wrong with you. I swear every crazy goal I see the goalie isn't even trying.
#3 was during the Grey Cup, which is the championship game for the CFL. That return would've put his team ahead with under a minute to go in the game if there wasn't a penalty.
well, the field is too big to not have ANY offsides, but i think that once the offense gets the ball close enough to the net, let's say 25 yards, offsides should no longer apply.

Dani Osvaldo got screwed. He was obviously NOT offside. What a Bicycle Kick.!
So many amazing College and NFL Touchdowns have been called back due to penalties. Could do a video just on those.
And a lot of those penalties were unnecessary penalties to take. Same goes for interceptions being called back because of penalties.

Correct. Just like you can't kick a goal in the net in hockey, but if the puck deflects off your skate and goes in then it is good.

The last two are ridiculous calls, especially Murray’s dunk
Yeah that’s less contact with the offhand than you see on nearly every posterizing dunk
Shaw’s goal not counting hurt. Especially since every game in that series went to OT or longer.
the Hawks won the cup that year so I guess it didn't hurt too bad
Putting the jamal Murray dunk at 2 and not the Anthony edwards charge dunk is insane
So I guess getting a 28 out perfect game is worse than 10 other plays in recent history
Reggie Bushs entire college career
Larry Bird's shot from behind the backboard while heading out of bounds.
