Are you going to add some cooling fans for the helmet? I've recently found out that they make magnetic USB cables so this kind of solution might be useful so you do not have to plug off the cable if you put the powersource in the armor, e.g.: gobaseus.com/product/baseus-insnap-cable-lightning-1-2m/

The chrome finish is so satisfying to watch!! I'm wondering if there is any reason you prefer the Molotov liquid chrome with Alclad sealer, instead of using Alclad's own chrome? Currently working on my first project with a chrome finish, so I'm trying to be good and do some research! - Martina
Not Mr. Savage, but Molotow is a graffiti paint manufacturer. The specialize in aerosol and paint markers, I believe they originated in Europe which has a much more Graffiti forward outlook than in the states, but that's not super relevant. Because Molotow paint is used for Graffiti it has to do two things really well. Stick extremely well to a variety of surfaces (usually which are exterior and dirty) and it has to extremely resilient, not only for harsh outdoor climates but also resilient against the removal of the paint. If you ever used artist quality graffiti paint you will know it's very hard to removed and it is very hard to cover up with new paint. Because of the chemical properties even a fresh coat of local hardware paint won't full cover up the graffiti paint, and that's by design. So with extreme resilience and extraordinary adhering properties a graffiti paint is going to be a lot more durable than your airbrush art paints which don't have to endure as much abuse. And lastly, Chrome is a highlight color of most graffiti art paints. It's been a staple as a color for almost 20 years. So while big brand paint companies have cornered the market in automotive grade chrome paint, there was a hole in the market for someone to r&d an aerosol based chrome paint. Rustomleum and Krylon had always geared towards solid colors, but are now branching out to specialty paints and finishes. So with that gap and the desire for resilient and durable hand held chrome spray paint, companies like Montana, IronLak, Molotow and MTN all put in the effort to make an easy quick option for chrome aerosol paint, without the need of a spray gun, and spray booth. One of the best chrome spray paints I have ever used with almost mirror like finish is Oink Art LTD chrome, it's US based but it provided a level of reflectivity I haven't quite seen yet in any other paint, even more than Molotow's version. So while paint recipes change all the time for various reasons, I can only see the aerosol version's of chrome getting better and better in the years to come.

"You can't bend it back." How true and frustrating that is. It's called 'work hardening,' and it means the material loses its ductility and becomes brittle simply by flexing it. Aluminum and copper are particularly insubordinate materrials.
@@dustysparks from my experience thats a waste of time maybe with copper, but aluminum doesnt react like steel with heat it doesnt get red hot at the right temperature so its a guessing game, and dont get it too hot.
@@SPAMPANMAN IIRC from the series where Adam build armor, you can put some sharpie on, and it'll evaporate off when the aluminum gets to the right heat for annealing. Haven't had an opportunity to try it myself, though.

Leave it there for a little while, 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the alloy, and then quench in water. The quick dirty method is the sharpie trick, where you mark the work piece with the permanent marker and then hit it with a low oxygen oxy-acetylene torch until the sharpie marks disappear, then quench in water. Online you can buy the little camera gimbals for FPV flight. they also work great as a head mechanism for animatronics and plenty of other things. Undercarriage linear actuators are also very useful (make the wheels go up and down on model aircraft) These things are so so useful in maker builds. Don't know if anyone mentioned this but I believe arm chaps only cover the lower to mid arm (mostly for archery) what you have there is I believe called a welding cape.
Doesn't a urethane based adhesive like gorilla glue stick better to a urethane resin than epoxy does? I know you got a mechanical lock by roughing the surfaces but a chemical bond too is even better I would think.......

I said the same thing. Wake and bake with mannequin eyes wasn't on the Christmas list
1:57 dude I'm still hung up on "are sleeves just arm chaps"
Had just smoke some right before watching the video, saw the eyes and tought i was going to take a bad trip, had to come to the comments to see if i wasn't going crazy KKKKKKKKKKK
the leather sleeves are just called "welding sleeves" or "sleeves". Often sold as arm protectors as well. I had a vending machine at a welding job that dispensed them, I went through a pair a week!
2:02 welding sleeves are just called “leathers”.
You make my day with any episode that's over an hour long 😁
17:21 "You don't have to make a sound effect with every bend, but honestly it helps!" ~ Adam Savage 2020
i'm working on some mechanical mechs really cool thing i found was the little servo kits for model aircraft. Online you can buy the little camera gimbals for FPV flight. they also work great as a head mechanism for animatronics and plenty of other things. Undercarriage linear actuators are also very useful (make the wheels go up and down on model aircraft) These things are so so useful in maker builds. (i've used these and their full size counterparts ) thank you for the inspiration and the passion Adam :)
Savage Head: *blinks*
Me: well that didn't scared the absolute bejesus outta me, not at all 😂😂😂😂😂
That chrome paint is magical.
Doesn’t Tony wear a full leather cap that is attached to the back of the helmet?
None of the random things Adam pulls out of his workshop surprise me knowing where he has been over the years. Though I can honestly say I was not expecting him to so nonchalantly say "I've got a casting of my head here"
I had to read the title three times to NOT read it as "Iron Man Mark Hamill"
The impression at the end got me, full Marks.
16:20 "If you don't mind I'm doing the cutting off camera. You've seen cutting." Awwww... take us with you!
We need more people like this guy in the world
Official quote: You don’t have to make a sound effect with every bend.
Don't know if anyone mentioned this but I believe arm chaps only cover the lower to mid arm (mostly for archery) what you have there is I believe called a welding cape.
"OOOuH, The bone saw!!!"
Bone Saw is Ready!
The paint on the finished helmet is awesome!
Doesn't a urethane based adhesive like gorilla glue stick better to a urethane resin than epoxy does? I know you got a mechanical lock by roughing the surfaces but a chemical bond too is even better I would think.......
