Idea for a one day build. Make the Octagonal Collet Holder Adam said he was unable to buy. A cylindrical one might be useful as well that way you can chuck a collet up in the lathe.

Yeah arc reactors are totally outdated. We're getting agonizingly close to modular nuclear reactors that require no cooling infrastructure, have relatively minimal meltdown risk, can be transported on a semi.
Yet we can't even charge a cell phone to 100% in under ten minutes! If they would've actually used Tesla's technology that they stole from him when he died everything would be wireless and just be 100% from the air all the time, but that wasn't profitable enough. You know how much better and so much further our society would be if we weren't so fkn greedy! Its actually really sad, everyone thinks Edison was this genius inventor when all he did was steal other people's work to make $ he literally never had an idea of his own and people praise him for being an innovator when he was merely a back stabbing, lying, cheating, slimy, typical, businessman!
Watching this when Im taking college level engineering classes is just awesome, because I understand a lot of the jargon he’s spouting from those classes, AND I’m learning new terminologies and getting some workshop advice from a professional!
I make things from my kids old toys all the time. No motor or electronic is wasted. Adam you are right. Most leftover material is is important and will fit perfectly one day👍

I had most of the equipment you use, and decades of experience with mechanical means...found out early this year that it's all gone, but I do still have my Victorinox multi-tool, a Gear Wrench screwdriver set, and my original Craftsman ratchet set from the early 90's...I understand "building back", but I can't help but question "how?"... All I can say is, after watching Adam for many, many years, I wish he lived closer to me and that we could be friends because not only is he a genius at building things, he seems like a genuinely cool person and I'm sure he would be absolutely awesome to hang out (and eat snacks) with.

I love that no matter how much I know I always learn something from more experienced people such as yourself, even though this is a build for fun the detail that you give and the little tips truly add value. For example your explanation of countersink bits and why you prefer one type to another was invaluable as I own single Grove types and the tri-Grove certainly makes sense. Nothing beats experience when paired with lifelong learning
I really enjoy watching Adam, I get glued to my chair lol....it's amazing what he does and how he does it, I actually learn a few thing watching him and most important he makes me feel like I'm with him at the shop to the point I laugh and respond to him lol.
adam,just discovered ur show. i was a huge fan of "mythbusters", love explosion. used to on the blasting crew at an iron ore mine. level a whole side of a mountain in one shot. recently started building my own bass guitars and you might not think that what ur doing on here would translate, but i learn stuff from all kinds of different disciplines. again keep up the good work. i'll be watching
