    For the fire cider scraps, I dehydrate them, powder, and fill capsules. My husband doesn’t like the fire cider so he takes the capsules. Just another idea.😊

      @Miss1776-ic5ic Месяц назад +4

      We do that too. Then we also, dehydrate or freeze dry the content of the fire cider and sprinkle it on organic popcorn. Gives it a kick. We add a few other things to our firer cider. Apples , lemons, elderberries, blueberries, limes and Grapefruit.( all organic)

    • @ashleyashcraft1754

      Does the dehydrator kill off a lot of the water soluble nutrients and antibacterial properties of the ingredients?

      @@ashleyashcraft1754 freeze drying it doesn't. Dehydrating, you might lose some because of the heat....if you can put it on the lowest heat setting. Anyway, it's worth trying it rather than tossing out the stuff. Blessings.

    You guys are just remarkable. Another idea- by a friends daughter, is a week in your bunkie to help around your farm, gardens and help with canning. A win/win- we can learn hands on AND help with your canning load ♥️♥️. ( my input to this- cost- would be some kind of a raffle- to help with the cost- and the item raffled (?) maybe something we could buy tickets on- and that money raised to the item selected TO raffle 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. There’s MANY who would LOVE to be there to learn n help but to MEET YOU guys in person 🥰

    Thank you for making the romanian mixed pickles. I am romanian myself and I can attest that we love these! We live in the USA now and every time my mother is visiting, my kids demand her to make pickles :)) we all fight over the carrots and cauliflower. I never tried them with apple though.
    I also have a youtube channel (flavors of the world by Anna)where I cook both romanian dishes and international ones. You just gave me the idea to document the pickles as well.
    Just a piece of advice. For the first 5, 6 days, my mother drains the liquid into a big bowl and whisks it vigorously to aerate it, then puts it back in the jar. She says that this will prevent them from turning mushy or soft.

    Couple of years ago I enthusiastically started fermented after watching loads of homesteading channels for years. I tried Cabbage, absolutely hate it, fermented garlic in honey, can't stand it almost, get sick just thinking about it and I've also tried fire cider, wich was worse then fermented garlic😂. I don't know why! I really want to like it, or at least tolerate it, but no, it's impossible. 😅. The taste of ferment doesn't sit right with me. The cough drops are definitely something I will do very soon!

      I have to agree with most of your comments, aside from the cabbage. The others - no, thank you. 😅

      I can’t do any ferments either, not yet anyway. I just strained off a big batch of apple scrap vinegar today. I’m thinking I will try taking a tablespoon a day for the probiotic benefits. Maybe with some honey?
