We will be using several commands to put the item together and I have left some of the thought processes of mistakes into the video for you to see how they were overcome. I hope you enjoy the video and hope that it will help you in your designing endeavors. Thanks for watching and if the video help please leave a like, subscribe and a comment below. Good designing.
If you are just starting out in 3D printing, I would recommend going with one of these printers at a low cost and get familiar with the printing and adding supports and then maybe level up to a faster and higher priced printer. Keep your cost low to start until you become familiar with everything that 3D printing has to offer. Anycubic Printers and resins:

When you mirror it would have just had the exact same look as the other side. When you rotate copy yes it will take the image and switch to the opposite direction. In the video if you look down on the ring you’ll see that the small circle side of the shank is on the opposite side. It makes for a better look and flow of this particular design. Hope my explanation was good enough.

Hope I can explain it good enough, but mirror is just taking a copy of something and putting it to the other side where it is exactly the same as the other. So, what that means in this video is the shank would have been exactly the same on the other side. But I wanted the smaller section ( the oval section ) to be transferred to the opposite side. So, when I rotate and copy it will just swing that around and the small oval section is now on the opposite side of the one that I copied. When you are looking down on the ring you will be able to see what I mean. It just makes for a much better flow and design in my own opinion.

nice video but as a learning designer i prefer to keep the setting and ring as two seperate pieces to be assembled... I am watching this trying to figure out how to close the bottom of the setting prongs as one piece

If you are wanting the head and the shank of the ring to be two different items instead of one there is an easy way to do it. You would want to raise the offset curve that was done in the very beginning around the .38-minute mark to a higher offset amount. then you would want to add a peg in the bottom of the head that would cut through the shank so you could solder it on and then also tack it to the sides of the ring by the under bezel. So, you have three places to solder it. Where the peg goes through the shank and then on each side of the under bezel where it is touching the shank of the ring. I hope you can understand. If not let me know and I will see if I can do a quick video of it for you. Hope that helps.
