This song was initially written for an amazing family in NYC (my friend Vanessa, with 2 boys on the Autism spectrum) after I discovered the challenges, red tape, and judgment they've had to go through to get education, after school programs, treatment, and even just information for their children.
We want to honor, inspire, and join together our amazing friends, neighbors, family, and colleagues on the Autism spectrum. Our goal is to raise awareness, and funds, to help Autism programs and services. Since its release on iTunes, organizations from the UK to California to Canada to Florida have used the song in videos, walks, events, and more!

I have autism, and its hard, I also have a depression and anxiety,... people say I am arrogant and have two faces, they first tell me that I am a good man and that they will listen, but they eventually insult me and basicly tell me that they do not need me anymore (even family like my stepsister.)
This song made me cry! I have autism and it took them years to diagnose me as it was HFA (High Functioning Autism) doctors could hardly classify my until my 9th grade of high school. That was when my therapist and other doctors I seen for anexity, depression, nervous breakdowns, put the pieces together. I suffered through the year with no friends. I stayed in the back of a classroom hiding. I exceeded in history but failed in math. They diganosed me at fifteen with Asperger and to this day I struggle. People constantly baby me. Asking me if I 'need' help. I want them to know I can 'do' whatever but it takes me more time. Now, I am going to college online at 20 years old to be a preschool teacher. I never been so proud of myself.
this is awesome i too was diagnosed late as i am very high functioning, i was twelve, and suffered years of bullying and not fitting in, flash forward 8 years later and i am now in my second year in college also studying to be a preschool teacher, and i have all these friends, just came across this song and as i am a dancer i want to do a solo to this song for world autism day

@@CassandraKubinski this also inspired me by my autism brother who also has seizures sometimes 😢 but when I listen to this song I get the good feeling about autism kids they played this in my brothers virtual school my mom started crying and said "I love this song" so that's how u started listening to the music 💜

This song is so beautiful! It helps me feel represented and proud of my autism. My mum always says to me and my brother ( both autistic) that autism is an ability. My mum knew that I had autism when I was about 10 but my senco teacher said girls can't have autism. But my mum persisted when I moved to secondary school and I finally got my diagnosis at 13. I moved out this year to do engineering at uni and I wouldn't have been able to do it without the support and patience from my parents.

Our MRI's say different, but we are not so different in wanting the persuit of happiness, and acceptance.
and some of us, over the years have been miss diagnosed and have had a hard road, some of us, after 53 years are learning we have absence siezures...
Life is intresting.. wre not so different in wanting to be treated human.
My dad got me diagnosed when I was 7 didn't tell me until I was 13 said I said I didn't believe him at 7 and he said he dosent believe i have it and every time people talk about treatment and reasons we get it that's fake I'm secretly clenching my fists and if given the option of actual treatment i think we are autistic for a reason if someone took away my autism i would say your taking away my personality and replacing it another thing they dont have that we are able to feel is the understanding and the refreshing feel of meeting other autistic people we belong to a community of hard working people who have to work incredibly hard to earn what we have some of the most famous people belong to this community so I'm proud that I'm autistic

I have anxiety and friendship trauma as well but when I meet other people with autism it feels like a gift I might not even know if they are autistic but I always have a feeling and its amazing and im lucky because my friends would normally be very annoyed by people who do stuff like fidget but they know im autistic and one of them even has a brother who has it my brother isnt as nice when it comes to autism he makes fun of me for having it i put up with stuff from diffrent people every day and im asexual i hate some people who think its funny to try to use this stuff to make Me uncomfortable im always open to making friends no matter where your from or who you are even if you just want someone to care ill be their

I have autism and was diagnosed just last year in Grade 9. My teachers don't know I have it because I'm really smart and stuff like that and my parents never told them that I am on the spectrum. It hurts because I have to be told twice in order to remember/learn and its hard for me to understand a concept when I'm being talked to so I have to be shown and my teachers get mad at me for that. My friend’s Rose, Jasmine, and Shawn recently danced to this song at a competition in a dance called “light it up blue”. I went to the performance alone because my parents still deny there is anything wrong with me even though I've been diagnosed with autism.
