Definitely running Castoria with my Tamamo in NA. Ended up with NP2 Tamamo on the same roll, so I'm not letting my little fox waif get replaced by new shiny.
Double Castoria is for farming or quick fight, long boss fight should be Castoria+Tamamo or Merlin or both. Also I don't really like to use double of anything, even different version of the same servant.
Tamamo has everything that Castoria didn't have (NP damage up, NP drain, healing and CDR) so fielding both means losing any weakness (except for buff removal, unless Tamamo gets buffed with team-wide buff removal resist) on your Arts team
2022 will be the year where I don't roll for NOTHING besides Castoria. I loved the character idea since Lostbelt 6 was not even released, and seeing how amazing she is as a Support, cannot wait to have her.
Well if you want to get her without spending money, I would recommend saving up as much as you can. So instead, don't roll for anything besides Castoria
While i won’t stop you if you love Odysseus, he is not worth it in the slightest, since Lolivinci is bundled alongside castoria, and she is the best looper in the entire game, period. Overshadowing Odysseus by a LONG shot, double castoria + lolivinci is just so much better than double castoria + odysseus
38:40 You know what's the most budget god tier pairing for castoria? Mash. I tryed them out tugeather for fun after LB 6 and it works so incredibly well. Mainly because Mash can get up to 200% NP gage easily (and 300% once we get her to NP5) So Castoria will have a lvl 3 charge consistantly with her. And with her taunt she can fucus the enemy on her If for some case Sollem Deffence isn't up. I do recomend a unit that drops stars or generate stars with NP tough to make sure that you crit. (I use Goge for that.)
After the obligatory Castoria rolls, I'll focus everything on Himiko ! She is an immortal Challenge quest servant and will make my life so much easier ! I already have Romulus on my JP account so it's ok for me to skip him and Vritra is another servant that I want but it all depends on my Himiko rolls . Good luck yall !
I've been excited for Van Gogh basically since i first heard about here; i love the art design, and i love "different" gameplay and kits. I totally get her not being on a top ten list, but that's my big roll target for this year. I'll roll for Castoria too, of course, but I care more about designs than OP-ness, which is why my number 2 priority is TRex waifu XD
im extremely suprised that gogh isnt on the list honestly i think she's better than skadi in quick teams due to the insane crit damage. double gogh Jacques is a type of insanity only rivaled by super orion ive seen easily over 400k crits on jacques quick cards if you can manage to loop both gogh's np
alright for me my targets for 2022 are: yang guifei, himiko, roma, castoria, kiara, van Gogh and I am not so sure about vitra and douman just yet, I might try to roll for them but they are too close to my boy Shirou Muramasa. as for other serrvants, gonna try for saito, melt lancer, bunny artoria, merlin/skadi if I don't get either of them from the gssr.

imma be honest with you chief himiko and van gogh (especially van gogh) are leagues better then like... this entire list aside from castoria himiko on a basic level is so stupidly strong its insane to me she is not number 2 on the list... and on "meta" teams with castoria and shit... she is almost game breaking speaking of game breaking... Van Gogh.... she is quite literally number 2 in every possible sense... only being beaten by castoria because u know... castoria Gogh not only is a better DPS then pretty much every DPS in the game... she is also a meta defining support... while ALSO being an incredible staller/last-mand-standing 22 is packed with powerhouse servants... but himiko/ gogh/ castoria are the easiest top 3 of my life
Gogh is like most foriegners is only really good the more you actually play the game, himiko is arguable because the ruler class is resisted to everything but avengers and beserkers so she's good nomatter who you are Van gogh also takes getting used to because unlike how brain dead castoria is van gogh compared to most things on this list isnt on a base level as easy to understand

Ibuki is actually an amazing Saber that deserves a mention I think. Her damage with Konyachihuahua is bonkers on top of having Ignore Invincible and Ignore Defense on her NP. Also her NP is just really cool.
maybe someone else has already pointed it out, but gotta mention, for Douman: his instakill is one of the most potent ones I've ever used, since the NP itself has a 120% instant death chance, PLUS the 20% extra that comes from his passives. it basically near guarantees instakill for every single bronze and silver units, regardless of class advantage, AND it procs after damage as well so the refund is not lost. on other servants it usually doesn't work, but i would still say that it's FAR from useless, he singlehandedly curb stomped everything for me up to Olympus on JP i np5'd him and i'm planning to do the same on NA as well, he's VERY good
@@GeorgeMonet Jeanne has saved my ass on so many challenge quests I've lost count. Pierce invul is rare, even in the Nero/Gil fest CQs, and Merlin's invul being on a skill makes it less reliable. Actually, Merlin and Jeanne combine wonderfully for challenge quests. His NP helps her spam hers, their combined healing keeps the party healthy, and her S1 stacked with GoA for reliable star gain. Jeanne, Merlin, and a good buster DPS can get through 90% of the harder fights.

Supports have been the bane of my quartz since Merlin came out. Have probably wasted 1k+ on trying to get him or Scathach, to no avail. I currently "wait and hope" Castoria will be a different story...
I'm completely skipping Castoria for Vergil in the next GudaGuda. I have my Exodia hand with my Skadi system so I don't need her for farming. As of now my list for gets is Romulus, MAYBE Caenis since I have her np5 and level 100 in JP, and Vergil.
Catoria is arguably not better than merlin for general support. She is definitely better when with arts servants, but merlin is better as a support in longer fights. Being able to heal is pretty crucial in CQs. Same with having a aprty wide full turn invul on a skill so you can pop it at any time.
Arguably, yes. But it's a weak argument. That healing is great, but a Buster+crit is always going to be inferior to an Arts+invul combo skill. Not all Servants can Buster or crit, but all Servants have at least one Arts card and enjoy not dying for a whole turn. Castoria is just better as a general support, there is no actual doubt about it. The reason is simple: 90% of the game is not "longer fights" it's fast 3T fights. And even in longer fights Castoria is better if you just pair her with a healer. A stall team just works better with a Castoria than it does Merlin. Unless you have Merlin and Himiko in the same party in which case they're immortal.
I noticed the Reines + Sherlock banner wasn't mentioned at 2:09. Not the strongest of units but I use Reines quite often for unique builds. And a 50% NP charge is always welcomed when she's buffed at the banner.
"Per aspera ad astra" Through hardships to the stars... for this NP name alone I would like to have him but... Odysseus and Castoria is what I have my eyes on. My favorite servant is Yagyu Tajima-no-kami Munenori. (I'm f2p, but I got him on NP5, 2k/2k level 100) So getting Castoria just for him.
Merlin still fantastic for oonga boonga buster builds double Merlin was MVP for Atlantis for me bc I got Gigachad Orion. Threw MLB Tale of Love and hope on him and a MLB 2030 on my Merlin. Opened every fight with Artemis Agnos and then had it up every 2-3 turns 🤣.
My Priority Servants in 2022: ~ Castoria (its a MUST ROLL TO EVERY FELLOW MASTERS) ~ Himiko Optional : ~ Roma (Grand Servant) (since i am collecting Grand servants)
I would love to get Castoria but her banners are very close to my top priority servants' rateups (Saitou Hajime and Oberon) although I'll still be rolling her banners a bit to try my luck
Buster crit support, bah. That is only the most basic, plebeian way of playing Himiko. :V Really, though, I've only ever used her in that capacity to support a second Himiko; otherwise, it simply does not come up in practice - typically, you bring Himiko to BE the buster crit rather than to support one. And the real big brain move is placing her on a team with Merlin and Castoria and laugh at your opponents' futile attempts of punching through 5 layers of anti-purge defense. I'm rather puzzled how she does not make the list when she provides things both unique and widely applicable in terms of gameplay. (And, yes, my profile pic may make me seem biased. Only realized that after posting. Regardless, the above is about as divorced from my subjective preference for the character as can be. Himiko is far better than the brief cameo makes her out to be.)
Ahh yes, you are truly a cultured individual! Himiko is almost a must roll for me as I am a huge Kessen 2 fan! She is awesome just by herself but I plan on Chading my Chaldea up and pairing her with Super Orion for disgusting Buster Memes! However your strategy also makes sense!
gogh is another one that really should have made the list. She defines meta crit characters she is a completely broken foreigner support and even if you dont have another quick foreigner of which there are 2 voyager and jacques she can be the quick foreigner characters like super orion that were already insane get somehow even more broken due to stars not being an issue as you can max stars every turn easily. the only downside for her as a support is that shes mainly focused on quick characters and foreigners. i think there are a couple others that should have been on this list too but oh well his list i guess. although i am suprised that voyager is on here considering that next year jacques comes out and imo is just plain better in most circumstances.
You are a bit confused on Kiara's last skill. Bewitchment is only the crit resist down, the arts resist down and def down are separate effects. And extra stacks makes her not just increase the values of the def down and arts resist down, but it also increases the amount of bewitchment stacks by one per skill stack. So with three stacks, she gives all enemies 30% arts resist down, 30% def down, and three bewitchment debuffs. And given that Kiara's NP increases by 20% in accordance to mental debuffs, that's an extra _60%_ damage. She's even more stupid than what you described lol. In my honest opinion she makes a really strong case for being the best AoE arts Servant bar none, with her only weakness being that she's not as good as a farmer as, say, Space Ishtar or Mura
I am 100% trying for summer Kiara and Koyo. I love Voyager and Yang Gufei but I have had my sights set on Kiara ever since she was announced in JP. I'm an NA player only too so you can imagine hype

Look at all those banners pre-castoria I won't roll on cause saving for castoria is too important! Good thing at least kiara comes right after, and for summer musashi non-havers, is one of the best units to go along with her. edit: castoria banner does come before summer... right? ...RIGHT???
Not sure if you checked already but... yeah, it does. A whole 7 days before the Summer banner! They run concurrently for 7 days too. Assuming the dates stay similar. So... you know... good luck! There should be a lot of SQ available to roll (over 300 if memory serves) from the Anniversary but... I remember getting nothing on the 5th Anniv aside from the guaranteed gacha. Be prepared!
Danm im surprised Van Gogh didnt make it to that list espcially since she is like the Quick version of Chad Orion. If you have a Van Gogh and double Douman system, that alone just says you dont need Skadi for two since their skill set really synergizes as both chaotic evil AND curse stacks

NGL I got her at NP 4 when rolling for a copy of Barghest....but she has been my carry Archer in my JP account....Alongside Morgan and Tamato Vitch..heck I just finished Solomon with the three on my team. Baobhan was the one who gave Goethia the finishing blow Heck, her kit could be summed up as Damage + Survavility, Utility+chonky Battery, Utility+chonky Battery
Douman buffs to chaotic and evil separately add up to 225% crit damage (150% × 150%) on the second skill and 144% attack damage (120% × 120%) for Servants with both. Pretty impressive.
Glad to see Dioscuri and Odysseus made the list, even if they’re in the last two slots. Dioscuri is my first target of the year and Odysseus remains the only real threat to my Quartz until their banner. From there, I’d like to nab a copy or two of Mori (I’ll roll the rest of his copies during the GUDA6 event), followed by Castoria of course. From there, Honey Lake is my next target. How much I roll for Saito and Douman is up in the air, as Saito’s on a banner with Okita next year, who I like more than Himiko, while Douman also gets a rerun the year after and I plan on rolling the Male Extra, which he features in. On an unrelated note Manpig, what are your thoughts on Baobhan Sith?
who you think is the more useful servant , oberon or castoria?, oberon can loop with a lot of servants of anytype due tot he sheer amount of np he gives etc , castoria may be more overall useful though and oberon may need some other casters as well for full effectiveness.
Oberon with his 70% NP charge can help not only buster but also quick units that may have struggle with refund to loop. With double Oberon you can potentially loop with any unit that have at least 10% np charge on their own. Also while Oberon has the 50% buster steroid, the real prize is that "double NP dmg" buff, meaning if we take something like black grail with it's 60% np dmg up, Oberon can double it to 120%. So he's not just for buster- If anything he's more like Waver as a universal support. That said, Castoria is also a great unit because not only does she simplify looping for Arts unit, she's also has a kit that's great for CQ stall teams. So in the end it's what you're prioritizing. Both units would make life so much easier for your account. imo they're both equally "must haves".
My luck is in a rut right now and i hope it changes next year. I'll probably prioritizing castoria and himiko then ill wait for koyanskaya and taira no kagekiyo.
This year's got fewer units I'm big into than last year- of course I'll go Castoria but most of the rest are more niche, and last year had the whammy of Kama/Arjuna/Spishtar/Orion, and most here aren't *quite* as big as those four.
The real challenge would be to not get tempted until they arrive I swear I'd love to roll all my sq to Castoria but man Jalter has another banner next year xD
Vritra is actually the Lancer with the highest ATK in the game. Yo! I just realized Yang's NP is actually quite busted. Unlike most damage NPs in the game, hers scales by each level, not by overcharge. At NP1, it deals 3k burn damage per turn, but at NP5, it deals 6k burn damage per turn, holy fucking hell. This makes her one of the very few SSR Servants in the game that gets significantly stronger when NP1+.
I wish I would get castoria but I have no aoe arts servants so she will mostly be a sitting duck so I will just get tomamo vich instead cuz I have a load of aoe buster servants

I want Melusine over Castoria. It's more like Waifu > Meta thing, but definitely will get Castoria. I was planning to try that can Castoria solo'ed Grand Order. You know, since Special Ascension is a thing.
Yeah, any person that got castoria on Release could tell how baffling she is, and when she was released everyone saw her kit and thought "HOLY SHIT THIS IS SKADI AGAIN" exept it was not, it was way, WAY more powerfull, like you said, literally just merlin is close to her (although you can argue merlin does more shit, castoria is more cohesive) and lets not even talk about servants like Himiko who you know, Grant overcharge by 2 stages so you can chain himiko merlin and castoria and have 5 hits of Solem defense while himiko will be smacking the enemy to death? (Morgan does it but slighly worse since is only one OC stage) or how tamamo and castoria once tamal starts ramping up that becomes a ridiculous snowball of habilities? And yes Im aware Koyanskaya and oberon exist on jp, but they literally just offer damage and nothing else castoria offers damage and defenses and her only weakness being Buff removal and no heal, Castoria is that strong because of LB6 and thank god she is as strong as she is, and I really pity people who don't have merlin or asclepius too on to of their own castoria for LB6

Getting Castoria isnt just a matter of gameplay priority. Its also a matter of "soul's" priority for Post LB6 Hugs and Good Girl Headpats

castoria is based around boosting the np gain of servants and giving survivability, Tamamo makes arts units do big boi damage

Ibuki is actually an amazing Saber that deserves a mention I think. Her damage with Konyachihuahua is bonkers on top of having Ignore Invincible and Ignore Defense on her NP. Also her NP is just really cool.

maybe someone else has already pointed it out, but gotta mention, for Douman: his instakill is one of the most potent ones I've ever used, since the NP itself has a 120% instant death chance, PLUS the 20% extra that comes from his passives. it basically near guarantees instakill for every single bronze and silver units, regardless of class advantage, AND it procs after damage as well so the refund is not lost. on other servants it usually doesn't work, but i would still say that it's FAR from useless, he singlehandedly curb stomped everything for me up to Olympus on JP
i np5'd him and i'm planning to do the same on NA as well, he's VERY good

@@GeorgeMonet Jeanne has saved my ass on so many challenge quests I've lost count. Pierce invul is rare, even in the Nero/Gil fest CQs, and Merlin's invul being on a skill makes it less reliable. Actually, Merlin and Jeanne combine wonderfully for challenge quests. His NP helps her spam hers, their combined healing keeps the party healthy, and her S1 stacked with GoA for reliable star gain. Jeanne, Merlin, and a good buster DPS can get through 90% of the harder fights.

Supports have been the bane of my quartz since Merlin came out. Have probably wasted 1k+ on trying to get him or Scathach, to no avail. I currently "wait and hope" Castoria will be a different story...

Catoria is arguably not better than merlin for general support. She is definitely better when with arts servants, but merlin is better as a support in longer fights. Being able to heal is pretty crucial in CQs. Same with having a aprty wide full turn invul on a skill so you can pop it at any time.
Arguably, yes. But it's a weak argument. That healing is great, but a Buster+crit is always going to be inferior to an Arts+invul combo skill. Not all Servants can Buster or crit, but all Servants have at least one Arts card and enjoy not dying for a whole turn.
Castoria is just better as a general support, there is no actual doubt about it. The reason is simple: 90% of the game is not "longer fights" it's fast 3T fights. And even in longer fights Castoria is better if you just pair her with a healer. A stall team just works better with a Castoria than it does Merlin. Unless you have Merlin and Himiko in the same party in which case they're immortal.
I noticed the Reines + Sherlock banner wasn't mentioned at 2:09. Not the strongest of units but I use Reines quite often for unique builds. And a 50% NP charge is always welcomed when she's buffed at the banner.
"Per aspera ad astra" Through hardships to the stars... for this NP name alone I would like to have him but... Odysseus and Castoria is what I have my eyes on. My favorite servant is Yagyu Tajima-no-kami Munenori. (I'm f2p, but I got him on NP5, 2k/2k level 100) So getting Castoria just for him.
Merlin still fantastic for oonga boonga buster builds double Merlin was MVP for Atlantis for me bc I got Gigachad Orion. Threw MLB Tale of Love and hope on him and a MLB 2030 on my Merlin. Opened every fight with Artemis Agnos and then had it up every 2-3 turns 🤣.
My targets 2022 (includes older servants): Odysseus, Romolus-Quirinus, Voyager, Sherlock, Castoria, Sigurd, Hajime Saito, Ashiya Douman
My Priority Servants in 2022:
~ Castoria (its a MUST ROLL TO EVERY FELLOW MASTERS)
~ Himiko
Optional :
~ Roma (Grand Servant) (since i am collecting Grand servants)
I would love to get Castoria but her banners are very close to my top priority servants' rateups (Saitou Hajime and Oberon) although I'll still be rolling her banners a bit to try my luck

Buster crit support, bah. That is only the most basic, plebeian way of playing Himiko. :V
Really, though, I've only ever used her in that capacity to support a second Himiko; otherwise, it simply does not come up in practice - typically, you bring Himiko to BE the buster crit rather than to support one. And the real big brain move is placing her on a team with Merlin and Castoria and laugh at your opponents' futile attempts of punching through 5 layers of anti-purge defense.
I'm rather puzzled how she does not make the list when she provides things both unique and widely applicable in terms of gameplay.
(And, yes, my profile pic may make me seem biased. Only realized that after posting. Regardless, the above is about as divorced from my subjective preference for the character as can be. Himiko is far better than the brief cameo makes her out to be.)
Ahh yes, you are truly a cultured individual! Himiko is almost a must roll for me as I am a huge Kessen 2 fan! She is awesome just by herself but I plan on Chading my Chaldea up and pairing her with Super Orion for disgusting Buster Memes! However your strategy also makes sense!
gogh is another one that really should have made the list. She defines meta crit characters she is a completely broken foreigner support and even if you dont have another quick foreigner of which there are 2 voyager and jacques she can be the quick foreigner characters like super orion that were already insane get somehow even more broken due to stars not being an issue as you can max stars every turn easily. the only downside for her as a support is that shes mainly focused on quick characters and foreigners. i think there are a couple others that should have been on this list too but oh well his list i guess. although i am suprised that voyager is on here considering that next year jacques comes out and imo is just plain better in most circumstances.

You are a bit confused on Kiara's last skill. Bewitchment is only the crit resist down, the arts resist down and def down are separate effects. And extra stacks makes her not just increase the values of the def down and arts resist down, but it also increases the amount of bewitchment stacks by one per skill stack.
So with three stacks, she gives all enemies 30% arts resist down, 30% def down, and three bewitchment debuffs. And given that Kiara's NP increases by 20% in accordance to mental debuffs, that's an extra _60%_ damage.
She's even more stupid than what you described lol. In my honest opinion she makes a really strong case for being the best AoE arts Servant bar none, with her only weakness being that she's not as good as a farmer as, say, Space Ishtar or Mura
I am 100% trying for summer Kiara and Koyo. I love Voyager and Yang Gufei but I have had my sights set on Kiara ever since she was announced in JP. I'm an NA player only too so you can imagine hype
Castoria's problem is that you want her np at the start of a chain for debuff removal and atk, but at the end of a chain for overcharge
If you use two Castorias, you can do both

Not sure if you checked already but... yeah, it does. A whole 7 days before the Summer banner! They run concurrently for 7 days too. Assuming the dates stay similar.
So... you know... good luck! There should be a lot of SQ available to roll (over 300 if memory serves) from the Anniversary but... I remember getting nothing on the 5th Anniv aside from the guaranteed gacha. Be prepared!

Danm im surprised Van Gogh didnt make it to that list espcially since she is like the Quick version of Chad Orion. If you have a Van Gogh and double Douman system, that alone just says you dont need Skadi for two since their skill set really synergizes as both chaotic evil AND curse stacks

NGL I got her at NP 4 when rolling for a copy of Barghest....but she has been my carry Archer in my JP account....Alongside Morgan and Tamato Vitch..heck I just finished Solomon with the three on my team.
Baobhan was the one who gave Goethia the finishing blow
Heck, her kit could be summed up as Damage + Survavility, Utility+chonky Battery, Utility+chonky Battery
Douman buffs to chaotic and evil separately add up to 225% crit damage (150% × 150%) on the second skill and 144% attack damage (120% × 120%) for Servants with both. Pretty impressive.
Glad to see Dioscuri and Odysseus made the list, even if they’re in the last two slots. Dioscuri is my first target of the year and Odysseus remains the only real threat to my Quartz until their banner.
From there, I’d like to nab a copy or two of Mori (I’ll roll the rest of his copies during the GUDA6 event), followed by Castoria of course.
From there, Honey Lake is my next target.
How much I roll for Saito and Douman is up in the air, as Saito’s on a banner with Okita next year, who I like more than Himiko, while Douman also gets a rerun the year after and I plan on rolling the Male Extra, which he features in.

who you think is the more useful servant , oberon or castoria?, oberon can loop with a lot of servants of anytype due tot he sheer amount of np he gives etc , castoria may be more overall useful though and oberon may need some other casters as well for full effectiveness.
Castoria without question. Oberon has good effects but they pale in comparison to Castoria, and Oberon is more for buster units
Oberon with his 70% NP charge can help not only buster but also quick units that may have struggle with refund to loop. With double Oberon you can potentially loop with any unit that have at least 10% np charge on their own. Also while Oberon has the 50% buster steroid, the real prize is that "double NP dmg" buff, meaning if we take something like black grail with it's 60% np dmg up, Oberon can double it to 120%. So he's not just for buster- If anything he's more like Waver as a universal support.
That said, Castoria is also a great unit because not only does she simplify looping for Arts unit, she's also has a kit that's great for CQ stall teams. So in the end it's what you're prioritizing. Both units would make life so much easier for your account. imo they're both equally "must haves".
My luck is in a rut right now and i hope it changes next year. I'll probably prioritizing castoria and himiko then ill wait for koyanskaya and taira no kagekiyo.

This year's got fewer units I'm big into than last year- of course I'll go Castoria but most of the rest are more niche, and last year had the whammy of Kama/Arjuna/Spishtar/Orion, and most here aren't *quite* as big as those four.
Yeah just focus your quartz only for castoria, cause 2023 gonna be hell for FGO NA gacha :)

Yo! I just realized Yang's NP is actually quite busted. Unlike most damage NPs in the game, hers scales by each level, not by overcharge. At NP1, it deals 3k burn damage per turn, but at NP5, it deals 6k burn damage per turn, holy fucking hell. This makes her one of the very few SSR Servants in the game that gets significantly stronger when NP1+.
I wish I would get castoria but I have no aoe arts servants so she will mostly be a sitting duck so I will just get tomamo vich instead cuz I have a load of aoe buster servants

Yeah, any person that got castoria on Release could tell how baffling she is, and when she was released everyone saw her kit and thought "HOLY SHIT THIS IS SKADI AGAIN" exept it was not, it was way, WAY more powerfull, like you said, literally just merlin is close to her (although you can argue merlin does more shit, castoria is more cohesive) and lets not even talk about servants like Himiko who you know, Grant overcharge by 2 stages so you can chain himiko merlin and castoria and have 5 hits of Solem defense while himiko will be smacking the enemy to death? (Morgan does it but slighly worse since is only one OC stage) or how tamamo and castoria once tamal starts ramping up that becomes a ridiculous snowball of habilities? And yes Im aware Koyanskaya and oberon exist on jp, but they literally just offer damage and nothing else castoria offers damage and defenses and her only weakness being Buff removal and no heal, Castoria is that strong because of LB6 and thank god she is as strong as she is, and I really pity people who don't have merlin or asclepius too on to of their own castoria for LB6
