Everyone saving up for Castoria rn, so I'm not at all surprised that she hits #1 in terms of anticipated Servants for 2022. She's a genuine game-changer of a Servant.
I was hoping for grandpa Muramasa but it looks like he's still a ways off, so I'll be saving up for Castoria too. Especially to give my NP 2 Spishtar a partner.
Honestly, at first I was gonna roll but not save hard. Then LB6 came out and she turned out to be an amazing character (from what I've heard), so guess I'm saving harder than ever since Okita Alter/Abigail.
@@gunnarschlichting9886 Castoria comes out before lb6, and she become the best de facto servant in fgo since her release. look at any Jp tierlist and castoria has her own tier at the top to herself.
Nah I’m saving for muramasa lol, I got Merlin and most of the servants I use on a more regular basis of buster card NPs and work better with his hero creation, although I am going for Romulus and Douman
I never realized how much good 5 stars drop once Castoria arrives. Summer Kiara, Himiko, Van Gogh, Dough Boy, and Ibuki are all super good and then Muramasa, Chad Orion and Spishtar rerun to start the crazy year that will be 2023. Good luck to all NA masters on rolling in the upcoming year!
I agree with this list very well done, me personally i'm going for romulus, himiko and castoria, not only good gameplay but awesome animations and amazing sprites
I'm sure reality will differ. But at this point I'm mostly just saying "ok, let's summon Castoria" as my focus. There are characters that would be fun to have for the heck of it. But honestly she's the only one I feel like I really want to summon. Maybe Summer Abby if I'm desperate to roll the gacha. But otherwise I could see myself just going after Castoria and then focusing on the crazy 2023 servants.
@@scrappychildhood6633 Good luck with rebuilding that recovery account. As a whole feel pretty comfortable with the account I've got. So can mostly just aim for Castoria and some really hype servants down the road. Of course easy to say I'll mostly save now, another for it to actually happen.

My only targets for this year are Yang Guifei, Castoria, and Saito Hajime. I just got Yang today so the last two remaining are my only focus for this whole year. But, maybe I can roll for the Merlin rerun.
Yeah I guess I'm greedy because I've got a few SSRs from last year I still need to get this year on top of Castoria, Dioscuri, & Himiko. But going all out has worked out well for me, I'm F2P besides the guarenteed gachas & got 2 space ishtars, okita, super orion, europa, & an Ozymandias spook within the last couple months. I did miss saber astolfo though. Anyways congrats on your Yang Guifei, I'm definitely going to some of the new years quartz & summon tickets trying to get her. & I'll prob go for caster on the guarenteed gacha since I still dont have skadi or merlin.

To be fair about the honorable mention, we did get our 2022 New Year’s servant at the eleventh hour of 2021, so it’s possible the same thing could happen by the end of this year.
I'm pretty sure sometime over the second half of this year DW just decided to roll forward 1 day. I live in Australia so everything used to be the day after at 2pm. So the 2021 new year event started at 2pm on the second of January for me and all events were like this. At some point over the year though, it switched so it's now the correct day for me.

Well, euryale is just a broken anti male servant. Enough to make DW make sure to make most male saber/berserker boss has something to counter her (at the very least mental debuff immunity or even straight up debuff immune)
Muramasa IS technically a 2022 servant despite what the banner says. Being drop into the game for a whole hour earlier on the east coast (4 for west coast) before the clock strikes midnight. NA residents have daylight saving to thank for that.
This has been an amazing year for me. Aside from a few exceptions, I’ve gotten so many servants that I’m so happy about. It takes more time and money than I’d like to admit, but I love my servants
I'll roll this new years banner, then probably try to hoard til July for Castoria, then save for Douman later in the year. The GSSR was nice enough to give me Eresh, so I'm already starting off on a good note =)
I have no idea why but I lost it and got giggly at "douman himself is chaotic and evil". 🤣🤣 Still him and Castoria are definitely a must summon for me.
Summer Yu made it on the list, let's gooooo. The actual rolls are gonna be rough for me this year, Okita Alter's rate-up on the Guda re-run, then Castoria a few months later, and Brynzerker a month after that. May RNGesus smile upon me and everyone else.
Okay I have to disagree with some of the things you said about Gogh. Firstly her primary role is a crit support servant. She has a targeted star absorb, attack buff, teamwide evade and her np affects allies unlike Super Orion. She especially helps foreigners who need additional crit support. She can solo like Super Orion and she really doesn't need support, Skadi is overkill in a lot of cases and her best support partner is herself because you can transfer the curses from one Gogh to another and they buff each other up to ludicrous levels. Her biggest strength in comparison to super Orion is her ability to survive a lot longer, but takes a lot more time to ramp up damage. And the curse is hardly a demerit when it deals less damage than black grail in some cases so being difficult to use is not on the table. In fact there is almost no demerit for using Van Gogh despite the unique mechanic.
When I was referring to the curse as a downside I wasn't talking about the damage it does to her, I was moreso referring to the fact that she requires micro managing. Like you have to know when to use the curses and skills together, also that many enemies are immune to debuffs or resistant to curse which kinda hurts her
@@GAReviews Enemies don't need to have curses to make the full effect of them as Gogh applies them only to allies which she then transfers to herself. Besides any curses you may inflict on enemies might be more bothersome to manage than the ones you make yourself. Its more damage, yes but its not something you have to invest in. Enemies being debuff immune only hurts her noble phantasm, by making her rng stuns not occur and her S2 debuffs. But otherwise it doesn't affect her much. But otherwise the order of her skills is simple, 2,3,1 for a burst np charge, otherwise in most cq you can use her hard defence at your own discretion. And if you are in a party, always use her 3rd skill after her second. Its not that hard.

I got Yang Gufei already and I’m focusing on rolling for Dioscuri, Castoria, the summer servants, and Muramasa. I’m on the fence with Romulus and Douman. Waiting for their spotlight review soon!
Great video however I would say another honorable mention should be Nobukatsu yes I know you summon him from the friend point gacha but rng is still a pain but he helps nobu units extremely well
Thank you very much for making this list for show and tell, I understand how hard it is to narrow down to 10 servants. Although my curiosity required me to ask, why voyager didn't make the list? Is it because he not as impactful as the other ten?
Voyager and Summer Kiara were finalists, but I didn't add them primarily because I wanted some 4* representation too. But also in Voyagers case he's good but just kinda standard as a skadi looper and I already included Douman who is better at it
Himiko is my second go to after castoria, not only does her event have a fucking badass ost she's also a very strong meme character given that she can work with castoria and other servants because of her buffs to NP OC. Then you also have the fact that vergil is on her banner and it sells it for me. Ashiya douman would be a pick but I'm a buster boy all the way even once castoria drops.
I bet NA's revenue before anniversary this year is gonna look pretty nasty, then it's just gonna explode in July with anniversary and Servant Summer Camp.
Voygaer because hes really cool :)))) also do you think Taira No Kagekiyo is good, I've looked at her kit and she seems near unkillable with a multi hit evade and a 4 turn guts but I havent seen anyone talk about her this video is good im saving for voyager and castoria :)
One thing is clear. I definitely used up ALL luck i've had for this year. I got Yang guifey (First 30-pull) and Orion (paid quartz). I'll be trying to get Castoria for sure, but i doubt shell want to come home. x)
My targets are Ibuki, Vritra and obviously Castoria but it could be nice Van Gogh and some four stars I've missed in the past like Danzo and Saber Fran.

I would probably put Van Gogh above Yang, if not even a little higher, since double VG with a 3rd Foreigner or Summer BB is so insanely strong. Since you need a local copy to run doubles, picking up VG is super valuable not just to use her as point, but also for those builds.
Castoria top pick. Would roll for musashi zerk or himeko castoria if I had quarts to spare. Did gssr. Got skadi. Now castoria is left to have all the meta casters. Best new year's since last year getting Merlin.
@@joshromero1796 I had to stop doing gssr with any rider as I always get them for some reason as maid alter was my last gssr last year. Yeah I'm low on quarts but I'll do my best to keep saving.
'Pre-Futa' listed as Castoria's only Con? I see that you are a man of culture as well... You've done a great job selling the servants in this list; as others have noted however, it's just a shame for this round of new servants that 2023 exists... Also, I'll say it now: I do not envy you one bit in having to rank the 2023 servants for a video at the end of this year, because my god that's going to be tough (possibly even, *oni-rous* ? ;) )
My Main goals for this year would be Yang, Castoria and Ibuki. I'm currently struggling to get Yang, depending on how it goes I really hope I can set aside some funds to get Kama and Merlin which I missed out in the previous year. On that note about Ibuki, I would say she's as much a buster crit servant as she is an NP servant- Her crits got enough juice to take out a whole break bar in one shot.

My Targets this year are Yang Guifei, Castoria, the Summer Servants (especially Kiara, Brynhildr, Tomoe and Murasaki), Qing Shi Huang, Himiko, Van Gough, Ashiya Douman, Ibuki Douji and Vritra and settle them at NP2 or NP3 except Castoria and Summer Kiara whom I plan them to reach at NP5. All post-Castoria except Yang Guifei which currently at NP2 which is enough for now and raise her NP to NP5 on later rate-up this year.
I fear to know what your targets would be once LB6 comes out. I'm already banging my head against my desk just thinking about it, there's way too many targets or every servants is a target.

Last year I don't have Maou Nobu and Arjuna Alter even though I rolled for them. Maou Nobu is a servant that I want to in my rooster and have a NP5 Raikou so not worrying to have Arjuna Alter.
Dino Milf Kijyo Koyo, Summer banner 2(Tomoe and Murasaki), Yang(already got her) and Castoria are my main targets this year. I have to save a lot since 2023 is packed full of great servants, gonna be rough.

Personally, I'm targeting ROMA, Voyager, Brynzerker, Castoria, and Muramasa, and might potentially roll for Van Gogh and/or Nemo if I have a few hundred SQ to spare. Not to mention I still need to keep my GSSRs reserved for Junao banners until I get at least 1 more copy for NP2 (got my first this New Years' GSSR, so I'll gladly take that, but I want my Grail targets NP2 or higher), so unless I get lucky with 6th anni I might not be able to necessarily rely on New Years 2023 for a missed target attempt. Gonna be rough...
I got Yang already and I plan to roll Castoria but as much as I like most of the servants on the list, I'm going to preoccupied trying to get some older waifus (read: musashi, Okitan and kama)

I honestly agree with most of the comments tbh, none of the new servants seem that incredible to me except ofc the queen of arts castoria. Especially compared to the insane powerhouses that will be releasing next year that dwarf muramasa and the like completely. So Im gonna be saving as much as I can after I roll for castoria since 2023 is gonna be packed to the brim with broken af servants like Oberon, Tamamo vitch, Morgan and Mnemosyne. Even tho Mnemosyne is not that broken, I still like her cuz who dosent want a kuudere waifu that forcibly calls you her lover and Morgan, a berzerker that takes it up one level by forcibly making you her husband?

"Stop staring at her armpits" Why you gotta call me out like that? All in all, pretty good list. Dios Curry is criminally underrated, but that's understandable since ST Saber is pretty stacked. Ibuki also has a window of being a downer thanks to being released just before Muramasa, but Vitch's release really allows her to shine. Also, invul-pierce on her own Kit makes her a very good face-card crit buster, especially with Honey Lake. On HM I would add Summer Murasaki, though she is in a niche with really strong Welfares (Kintoki with Skadi, Ryouma and Mandricardo with Castoria and Lizderella with Vitch), but she still has a pretty nice damage potential and a strong kit for boss fights. Summer Kiara also deserver HM, since she is easily one of the best AoE Arts units for going in blind in CQs - her kit (even her passives) is busted, and while she isn't as good a farmer as Space Ishtar/Muramasa, she really shines in AoE CQs. Also, while not GREAT a farming, it's not like she is bad a it.
Did one 10x+1 roll and Yang Gufei was the first card to greet me. Makes up for getting Sherlock in the avenger banner, the one card I did'nt want to see.

A slow year event wise? Hell yeah. I'm starting to burn out on in game events. I've got 3 servants I'm aiming for. Odysseus, who should come out with the next chaldea boys collection. His NP is a Laser Shooting, stark white Mech which gives me 3052 vibes.(different universe) Then Castoria obviously. And at the end Muramasa. Looping arts servants? Sign me up! My first taste at that has become my favorite servant, Yagyu.

Yup Dioscuri & Castoria are the main 2 I'm gunning for as well. Last time I went for scatach or bryn on the last GSSR I got Enkidu, when i wouldve vastly preferred ereshkigal so that's not too bad haha. This time I'll probably have no choice but to go for Skadi. OH EVEN WORSE the time before that it was a GSSR of all limited servants, 48 in total. I only had ONE at the time.. semiramis. So less than a 2% chance of a duplicate... & guess who I pulled?! Yeah that's right, I lost the 98/2 lmao. But in the same ten pull beserker raikou randomly saved the pull. I was so pissed at first lol At least I got super orion & 2 space ishtars recently so my locks definitely gotten better
My targets are Summer Abby, Van Goh, Douman (maybe) and Ibuki (prize). I would go for Castoria but I do not use enough arts servants. Now if I could use her outside a arts support, than sure I'd roll.
eh this is probably my bias against quick talking but I probably would have left limbo out. from what I've played of him on JP (had him since he came out) he's kinda weird to use. most hybrid dps support units are kinda weird in that way. plus after castoria quick goes back to being the worst of the three types for most content, besides farming since buster is still there until its 3 supports come out next year.
It really is a shame Saito doesn't have DT dude, I'd have been MOTIVATED to break my f2p status and get him. Still rolling though, and besides him and Castoria, I think only Summer Tomoe and Kyjio Koyo are my only targets for this year.

Outside of Castoria and Yang (who I was lucky enough to get a little bit earlier), I want Douman, Ibuki, the summer servants like Summer Kiara and Summer Abby, especially the latter as I love her 3rd ascension design and she's looked down upon by too much of the fanbase, annoyingly. She deserves more love than she's getting right now so she'll be my main summer target. =)

This has been an amazing year for me. Aside from a few exceptions, I’ve gotten so many servants that I’m so happy about. It takes more time and money than I’d like to admit, but I love my servants

Summer Yu made it on the list, let's gooooo. The actual rolls are gonna be rough for me this year, Okita Alter's rate-up on the Guda re-run, then Castoria a few months later, and Brynzerker a month after that. May RNGesus smile upon me and everyone else.
Okay I have to disagree with some of the things you said about Gogh.
Firstly her primary role is a crit support servant. She has a targeted star absorb, attack buff, teamwide evade and her np affects allies unlike Super Orion. She especially helps foreigners who need additional crit support. She can solo like Super Orion and she really doesn't need support, Skadi is overkill in a lot of cases and her best support partner is herself because you can transfer the curses from one Gogh to another and they buff each other up to ludicrous levels. Her biggest strength in comparison to super Orion is her ability to survive a lot longer, but takes a lot more time to ramp up damage.
And the curse is hardly a demerit when it deals less damage than black grail in some cases so being difficult to use is not on the table. In fact there is almost no demerit for using Van Gogh despite the unique mechanic.
When I was referring to the curse as a downside I wasn't talking about the damage it does to her, I was moreso referring to the fact that she requires micro managing. Like you have to know when to use the curses and skills together, also that many enemies are immune to debuffs or resistant to curse which kinda hurts her
@@GAReviews Enemies don't need to have curses to make the full effect of them as Gogh applies them only to allies which she then transfers to herself. Besides any curses you may inflict on enemies might be more bothersome to manage than the ones you make yourself. Its more damage, yes but its not something you have to invest in.
Enemies being debuff immune only hurts her noble phantasm, by making her rng stuns not occur and her S2 debuffs. But otherwise it doesn't affect her much.
But otherwise the order of her skills is simple, 2,3,1 for a burst np charge, otherwise in most cq you can use her hard defence at your own discretion. And if you are in a party, always use her 3rd skill after her second. Its not that hard.

She's at the end of the year, and everybody seems to have forgotten her, but the servant I'm looking forward to the most in 2022 is Vritra!

I happened to luck into Yang for NY and now the saving in earnest for the wombo combo that is Castoria, Summer Illya and Summer Abby continues.

On a more serious note, though - I've been looking forward to this video and, as per usual, the titles for each segment didn't disappoint :) My top 3 targets this year: Castoria (duh), Dioscuri (because last year I literally had a dream involving them) and Summer Kiara. I got Yang Gufei already and I’m focusing on rolling for Dioscuri, Castoria, the summer servants, and Muramasa.

Great video however I would say another honorable mention should be Nobukatsu yes I know you summon him from the friend point gacha but rng is still a pain but he helps nobu units extremely well

Although my curiosity required me to ask, why voyager didn't make the list? Is it because he not as impactful as the other ten?
Voyager and Summer Kiara were finalists, but I didn't add them primarily because I wanted some 4* representation too. But also in Voyagers case he's good but just kinda standard as a skadi looper and I already included Douman who is better at it

Himiko is my second go to after castoria, not only does her event have a fucking badass ost she's also a very strong meme character given that she can work with castoria and other servants because of her buffs to NP OC. Then you also have the fact that vergil is on her banner and it sells it for me. Ashiya douman would be a pick but I'm a buster boy all the way even once castoria drops.

One thing is clear. I definitely used up ALL luck i've had for this year. I got Yang guifey (First 30-pull) and Orion (paid quartz).

I would probably put Van Gogh above Yang, if not even a little higher, since double VG with a 3rd Foreigner or Summer BB is so insanely strong. Since you need a local copy to run doubles, picking up VG is super valuable not just to use her as point, but also for those builds.

You've done a great job selling the servants in this list; as others have noted however, it's just a shame for this round of new servants that 2023 exists...
Also, I'll say it now: I do not envy you one bit in having to rank the 2023 servants for a video at the end of this year, because my god that's going to be tough (possibly even, *oni-rous* ? ;) )

My Main goals for this year would be Yang, Castoria and Ibuki. I'm currently struggling to get Yang, depending on how it goes I really hope I can set aside some funds to get Kama and Merlin which I missed out in the previous year. On that note about Ibuki, I would say she's as much a buster crit servant as she is an NP servant- Her crits got enough juice to take out a whole break bar in one shot.
Saving for castoria, got Yang in three tickets, and got Hijikata on gssr, not really thrilled about that one(already have mhxa and Cu Alter).

Lol. That's tame compared to Koyanskaya of Light's ascension mat requirements. Hers is a *special* kind of torture.
My Targets this year are Yang Guifei, Castoria, the Summer Servants (especially Kiara, Brynhildr, Tomoe and Murasaki), Qing Shi Huang, Himiko, Van Gough, Ashiya Douman, Ibuki Douji and Vritra and settle them at NP2 or NP3 except Castoria and Summer Kiara whom I plan them to reach at NP5. All post-Castoria except Yang Guifei which currently at NP2 which is enough for now and raise her NP to NP5 on later rate-up this year.
I fear to know what your targets would be once LB6 comes out. I'm already banging my head against my desk just thinking about it, there's way too many targets or every servants is a target.

Last year I don't have Maou Nobu and Arjuna Alter even though I rolled for them. Maou Nobu is a servant that I want to in my rooster and have a NP5 Raikou so not worrying to have Arjuna Alter.

I’m rolling for Shiki and Amakusa for old servants. Other then that I’m waiting for Castoria and then Douman. May drop some quartz on other banners but am really just wanting these 4
Personally, I'm targeting ROMA, Voyager, Brynzerker, Castoria, and Muramasa, and might potentially roll for Van Gogh and/or Nemo if I have a few hundred SQ to spare.
Not to mention I still need to keep my GSSRs reserved for Junao banners until I get at least 1 more copy for NP2 (got my first this New Years' GSSR, so I'll gladly take that, but I want my Grail targets NP2 or higher), so unless I get lucky with 6th anni I might not be able to necessarily rely on New Years 2023 for a missed target attempt.

I honestly agree with most of the comments tbh, none of the new servants seem that incredible to me except ofc the queen of arts castoria. Especially compared to the insane powerhouses that will be releasing next year that dwarf muramasa and the like completely. So Im gonna be saving as much as I can after I roll for castoria since 2023 is gonna be packed to the brim with broken af servants like Oberon, Tamamo vitch, Morgan and Mnemosyne. Even tho Mnemosyne is not that broken, I still like her cuz who dosent want a kuudere waifu that forcibly calls you her lover and Morgan, a berzerker that takes it up one level by forcibly making you her husband?
Fuck I forgot douman, mommy, and Muramasa were all within like a month of each other.

All in all, pretty good list. Dios Curry is criminally underrated, but that's understandable since ST Saber is pretty stacked. Ibuki also has a window of being a downer thanks to being released just before Muramasa, but Vitch's release really allows her to shine. Also, invul-pierce on her own Kit makes her a very good face-card crit buster, especially with Honey Lake.
On HM I would add Summer Murasaki, though she is in a niche with really strong Welfares (Kintoki with Skadi, Ryouma and Mandricardo with Castoria and Lizderella with Vitch), but she still has a pretty nice damage potential and a strong kit for boss fights. Summer Kiara also deserver HM, since she is easily one of the best AoE Arts units for going in blind in CQs - her kit (even her passives) is busted, and while she isn't as good a farmer as Space Ishtar/Muramasa, she really shines in AoE CQs. Also, while not GREAT a farming, it's not like she is bad a it.
My main goal is castoria and melt, I'll probably skip this summer altogether since I don't know if I should pull for summer kiara or abby?
Did one 10x+1 roll and Yang Gufei was the first card to greet me. Makes up for getting Sherlock in the avenger banner, the one card I did'nt want to see.
With Van Gogh.all you need is picking another Van Gogh because she buff also buff for team.and she can absorb curse from another one to raise her np

I've got 3 servants I'm aiming for. Odysseus, who should come out with the next chaldea boys collection. His NP is a Laser Shooting, stark white Mech which gives me 3052 vibes.(different universe)

Yup Dioscuri & Castoria are the main 2 I'm gunning for as well. Last time I went for scatach or bryn on the last GSSR I got Enkidu, when i wouldve vastly preferred ereshkigal so that's not too bad haha. This time I'll probably have no choice but to go for Skadi. OH EVEN WORSE the time before that it was a GSSR of all limited servants, 48 in total. I only had ONE at the time.. semiramis. So less than a 2% chance of a duplicate... & guess who I pulled?! Yeah that's right, I lost the 98/2 lmao. But in the same ten pull beserker raikou randomly saved the pull. I was so pissed at first lol

My targets are Summer Abby, Van Goh, Douman (maybe) and Ibuki (prize). I would go for Castoria but I do not use enough arts servants. Now if I could use her outside a arts support, than sure I'd roll.
Funny enough castoria also help quick servant for farming due to np gain buff
eh this is probably my bias against quick talking but I probably would have left limbo out. from what I've played of him on JP (had him since he came out) he's kinda weird to use. most hybrid dps support units are kinda weird in that way. plus after castoria quick goes back to being the worst of the three types for most content, besides farming since buster is still there until its 3 supports come out next year.
It really is a shame Saito doesn't have DT dude, I'd have been MOTIVATED to break my f2p status and get him. Still rolling though, and besides him and Castoria, I think only Summer Tomoe and Kyjio Koyo are my only targets for this year.

Outside of Castoria and Yang (who I was lucky enough to get a little bit earlier), I want Douman, Ibuki, the summer servants like Summer Kiara and Summer Abby, especially the latter as I love her 3rd ascension design and she's looked down upon by too much of the fanbase, annoyingly. She deserves more love than she's getting right now so she'll be my main summer target. =)
