Amazing tool! We use ours to charge batteries before a repair. Nice to give the new batteries a 10-15 min charge while the device is waiting in the queue.
@VCC Board Repairs - Jesse Cruz I bought this tool for a Samsung Fold 5G that works fine beyond not wanting to charge through USB-C. I leave it pluged in until there is no more current draw from the batteries but when I plug in the batteries to the phone motherboard it only shows 90% charged instead of 100%. Can you please provide an explanation ? Thanks
Great question! Unfortunately, i'm not familiar with that model, so can't really help much. But check out my new group where you can ask for help: facebook.com/groups/thephonerepaircommunity
Do you know if this ss-909 has a connector for the samsung a line phones? Specifically I have a few a5 2017s that wont turn on want to check batteries. Wondering if this tool has a connector for the a5 phone battery J7 also I know uses same battery.
I'm not sure i understand the full purpose in this or if I'm missing something, basically with this can tell you the capacity of a phone and clarify the battery as or as not the issue? is there much of a point to getting this if you have a dc power supply (with correct adapter of course) and a battery? I think i could see how this would be useful for android or less common devices?
Many purposes. 1. You can plug in an iPhone battery (or any compatible battery) and externally charge it without having to monitor it. It can detect when it's full & stop charging, compared to a DCPS, you can overcharge a battery if you're not actively monitoring it 2. You can quickly plug in a battery & see what the battery voltage is at. 3. You can reactivate a dead battery in many cases, by plugging in the battery, then plug in the charger & monitor the current consumption Of course, you can manually do this with a multimeter & DC Power Supply. This tool just makes this process a lot more convenient. It also allows you to teach your employees who have limited technical knowledge to use it, without adding too many risks.
Is there a way to use this device to check actual mAh battery capacity, so we can stop getting scammed by all the aftemarket battery sellers who are selling hacked and/or used LIPOs and then lying about the actual mAh capacity of the batteries they sell(?)
Unfortunately no. This tool is very basic. It can only measure voltage & current. It can't read battery data. Although, you can plug in the batter to their respective iPhone and use 3u Tools to read the battery data
I ain’t even gonna lie I loved this thing for a while but it started to smell like smoke in the corner of the shop, and I had to throw it away because I thought it was about to catch fire if I continued use.
Did you have anything plugged in when it started to smell like smoke? Usually I found the issues of that is when someone plugs in the battery from the wrong side
@@VCCBoardRepairs dang was not expecting a reply on this old video. But I did have a Samsung battery hooked up. I think it was a note 8 battery. However I know for sure it was plugged in right. We used the tool all the time so maybe it just started to die out? I’m wanting to give it another go because I miss having an external battery charger like this.
Yeah it's a great tool. I personally used 2. My first one eventually had the micro usb connector break after using it so much. But the 2nd one has been solid and never had any smoking issues

No idea. Check the website and see if any of the connectors look like it'll fit

@@VCCBoardRepairs Thank you for taking hte time to help me understand better
Here to help!
What’s the power source you used coming from the micro usb ? Specs?
You can use any charging block, like this one: amzn.to/47DlfO2
Excuse me, is this tool recommended if used to charge the battery (without a smartphone) for daily use?
Please explain, thank you
The tool is designed for technicians for temporarily charging batteries for testing and troubleshooting purposes.
@@VCCBoardRepairs How do we know what percentage of the battery we charge through this tool is filled?
3.6V is about 0%
4.2V is about 100%
@@VCCBoardRepairs The indicator is volts? thanks.
I think in ampere, after that we convert it to mAh.
