So many transcendentally fantastic tracks have been coming lately, and now adding Scream, Drive Faster by Laurel to my To Be Free by Night Tapes, I’ve Been Living in Bad Dream by Cannons (and check out their cover of Harry Styles’ Golden!). Dang haven’t been this excited and enraptured by music in a long long time!!!
I can't listen to this band anymore without crying. I've been listening to Night Tapes for over 6 months since I first found Selene, and I somehow missed the meaning behind the lyrics. I've listened to this song quite a few times, and maybe it's just because the music is such a vibe, but it wasn't until about a week ago that the lyrics really hit me. I realized most of the songs aren't about anyone else. To Be Free perfectly articulates the struggle I've dealt with my whole life. I can't turn off my thoughts. I've got hundreds of tabs in my head that won't close, and I feel like I can't do anything because of it. I've made countless mistakes that I just had to sit back and watch myself make. I want to be in control. Night Tapes used to be in my top 5 bands. That's no longer the case because they just secured the number 1 spot for me. I hope they become so much bigger and never lose sight of their vision. Thank you so much for doing what I wish I could do.
