Secret 7 vs Chicken Liver Chum Bait

- After spending the day testing Team Catfish's Secret 7 catfish bait against my Chicken Liver Chum Bait, I was surprised at the results. Both baits were effective in producing fish.

I like your videos you got a lot of good information. I am a catfishermen of over 45 years I've only got one piece of advice for you use what works and quit letting yourself become distracted with things in the boat while your lines are in the water you are missing way too many hits you're fishing you're doing everything else right you just need to pay attention to those rods

Secret 7 worked for me. When all the other fisherman weren't catching anything I was the only one catching fish, (channel cats). They were using, minnows, and chicken liver.

I am 62 years old, newly retired and I fish daily, sometimes twice a in the tributaries off the Mississippi River and in Grand Lake. When the water in the river gets high in the river it dumps into tributaries near the levee. I catch catfish, crappie, breams and bass that I keep and eat. I prepare the gar gasper goo for my 96 year old mom. My husband and I just enjoy the outdoors after living in the Atlanta area for 30 years. Trust me, we do not catch and release. We enjoy fishing and the fish. I just bought some Secret 7 today at Bass Pro Shop in Georgia. We head back to SE Arkansas Monday and will be ready to fish Tuesday. I tried the chicken liver but I did not put it in the cheese cloth and I lost a lot of it. I bought the Catfish Charlie but my husband put it on top of the truck and drove off.
Come on, do catch and release.

hey muddy, can I give you a tip? all I ever fished for in my lifetime was catfish and bream. when you set your rods in holders cast em' out reel up the slack and then put them in free spool, you can also, put bells on your rods. the reason I am telling you this is, I noticed you like to look at the camera when talking and I have seen you get hits and you never knew it. by leaving them in free spoolit gives the cat time to take your bait and run and it also, gives you time to pick the rod up and engage the spool and set the hook. I have seen you miss a lot of fish. just a friendly tip my friend.nick
WHENEVER I FISH WITH LIVER , I USUALLY CUT INTO FINGER SIZE STRIPS AND AIR THEM OUT, ONCE SLIGHTLY DRIED, USING A THREE HOOK, I USE ABOUT 1 FOOT OF SEWING THREAD TO WARP AROUND THE LIVER INTO THE HOOK, IT KEEPS IT ON PRETTY GOOD EVEN AFTER A BITE OR TWO. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL , KEEP UP THE AWESOMENESS KRIS.

Great bait! Been using it for a year and puts fish on the stringer very well. I used beef liver instead but works great nonetheless. I'll have to try chicken livers next time. Keep up the great videos chris!
that's my favorite type of video to watch, feels like I am in your boat. I tried some Walmart stink bait once and it smelled like someone took a crap in a bucket and let it sit in 120 degree weather for 2 weeks.

Good vid. Enjoyable. I have fished for over 60 years, but try to keep and open mind to new ideas. Your Muddyriver Catfish Stick is a great example. Great experiment ! Just an FYI you can put the "furry thing" or whatever it's called on a 5/0 circle hook which could increase your chances hooking into a fish.
But overall it is nice to see some head to head stuff. I feel that as long as you have a quality stink/ punch/dip bait you can have success with small to medium fish (occasional large fish).
I used the dip bait from team catfish and it help alot
Great video! I really miss New Mexico.I like to use Big Marvs punch bait.I order it from the man him self.And you get what you pay for.Unlike a lot of catfish baits that lie about the weight of the bait they sell! Tight lines and good time's.

I tried it and killed it. All of my fishing adventures have been trial and error. I started fishing at 6:30 am cats hit bait all day! For the 1st time I went home with 6 cats none under 5lbs. you should check out the mizzouri river it's an awesome bank fishing river for me. I don't even catastrophic to cyrrent. I find a flat head spot and I just put my cut bait or liver out about 2-4 feet and wait

I'm thinking a broken shear-pin happens on a fairly regular basis in the river where you're fishing. Do you carry an extra prop, nuts, pins and tools just in case one item or another might unfortunately fall in the water? Great video by the way. Loved it from start to finish.

I've used the secret7 dip bait and chicken chum bait. I've caught more and bigger on the chum bait, although it seems the 1-3 lbs range of cats like secret7 fairly well. You do need to stir the dip bait and if its to thick and a little vegetable oil when its cool out side. The Chum bait is good for a few days then i throw out the left overs and secret7 is good till it's gone but don't keep it in a hot car locked up you'll never get the smell out of the car lol.
i use the secret 7 and catch anywhere from 6lbs to 20 lb channels all night long, and the dip bait is alot cleaner to use then livers.
I wonder if you could cut up sponge and use that for dip bait or chum bait?
I use suckers, shiners, and frogs in Minnesota. The catfish love those here.
try the Team Catfish Sudden Impact. you dont need a furry thing or a special dip worm for it, you can put it straight on a trebble hook, the sudden impact has fibers in it to allow it to stick on a regular or a trebble hook. i use it and it works better than any of the other canned stink baits, im going to try to make some of that chicken chum bait like you have too and try it on some trotline. keep up the great videos i always enjoy watching them

Secret 7 dip bait works better if you stir the bait a little so it's like a custard consistency then dip your fury thing in it and then use your stick to fold the bait into your hook, also the bait containers lid is black to help draw heat to the bait so it makes it easier to stir, just my two cents and that's from the owner Jeff Williams he's on RUclips as well

Try making a new bait (or said chum bait) or anything that may seem possible to catch cats. That would be a nice little series. Trying different baits of your own creation.

Hey Kris love your channel learned a lot but the team catfish red circle hooks have you ever had them bend real bad on little cats? I caught like a 5lbr and it was bent to hell all the hooks was same

I understand you used soap. Have you ever tried corn kernels and corn juice from the can. It could be that the fish were at the bottom because of the heat. If you use whole kernel corn in the can, the fish will swim right to the spot you put it in but can't move away from it.

is it Best to chum the water when fishing for catfish in a closed body of water or is it to chum in a open body of water like Rivera and cannels i live between South carolina and Georgia in a county called North Augusta on the South carolina side i like fishing the River and pondes there are i my área but always what to know if chuming a area always a good idea for catching catfish in pondes and on river thank you and sorry if you cant undersand what i am trying to say its because i have a slight ADHD but ones again thank you
+cris hernandez lots of people chum or bait an area prior to fishing it. Just make sure it is legal in your area before you do. There are several different methods but the most common one is soured grain. There's plenty of videos on how to make it on RUclips.

Hey man, I see a lot of people use carp for catfish bait, but will drum work? One of the places I fish has a TON of drum, but no carp.
drum should work fine man, they dont stay alive very well so i usually cut em. plus if you say there is tons of them then theyre probably natural forage for the fish in your area so they may just be the golden ticket for ya. give it a try. drum fishing can actually be kinda fun too, they can get up to 30+lb.

Hey Kris great vid...I was right there with you on that first bite...what a heartbreaker...you had me on the edge of my seat thinking "ease-up or you are going to lose it!!" I was worried because it was obviously a 10+ lber...and then i wondered "holy crap, is he going to pull it off anyway?" and thats when it got off like I thought LOL. Did you manhandle it like that in attempt to avoid getting caught up in submerged structure or another patricular reason? Anyway thanks for posting
+D Bailey I actually got my rod tangled in a branch overhead and then I could feel the hook slipping. He must have been barely hooked and I felt him come unbuttoned. At least I know where he lives now.

kris i have noticed that some baits work in some places an not in others. I tried you shum bait at a local lake and went to another lake and no bites. why is this?
