@@viisheshsharma Every person is unique, and has gone through their own fair share of events that have made them who they are now.
It is easy to remember and accept the good times: places that have warmed our heart, people/situations that made us laugh, adventures you never want to forget -- and so on.
On the other end of the spectrum of memories -- the not so-good times that bring about the emotions of sorrow, loss, regret and mental discomfort -- we allow to consume our minds and how we portray ourselves in the current moment that we forget that things are happening to us now.
This causes us to not appreciate our present life for what it is and for what's to come.
Mike basically is saying that he -- at times, lets his scoping of the past affect how he reacts to what's to come. He feels that he hasn't had ample time to work through what HAS happened that his emotions from BEFORE spill-over to the "now" and "future that is currently unfolding" so as a human being who deals with emotions, it has been difficult / was difficult for him to find that balance with coping with past not-so-good memories that he sometimes forgets to address that he still has a whole life ahead of him and time waits for no man.

I can definitely recommend doing what Mike is doing here. Start small, and then increase the distance and you grow as a person. I hiked along the entire West coast og Denmark a few years back - and I learned a lot from that experience.

Mike... Monroe, Michigan... 39.. 3 years ago.. I took a passion and turned it into my life and took myself seriously for the first time. I did this "hobby" of mine my whole life.. it truly saved me from what so many of my friends died from, I was there, but this "hobby" occupied me, made me happy, and helped me survive. I just got back from Thailand from putting my pure heart into something.. My passion brought me there, something that kept me alive before. As I was there, it wasn't my passion that changed my mind or made me feel I had achieved anything, it was the magic in them mountains, I seemed to find. It took a temple in a city named, Chiang Mai.. it took the busy surroundings and my fight for a honest life, to find me.. my escape from the grasp of what I thought I was supposed to do.

Great song. I`m 61 and was stoned for 30 years after my partner died. Three lost decades that took all my friends and family away from me, albeit my own fault. Then a year ago I just woke up one morning and was sick of being numb. This last year I`ve got fit again and written a novel that im proud off. Its restored a modicum of self respect after so so long. It`s nothing exceptional but it kinda saved me. It allowed me to lose myself in something creative that got the grey matter working again. Hell I might even get it published if I have some luck. Good luck to you mate, and don't ever go back to the green. The best drugs of all are fresh air and life. You might feel the lows more but you also the highs and for that alone its worth it.

Either memory after memory of friends, lovers, kids (if you are lucky), adventures, good times, bad times when you found out who your friends really were, times when you pushed yourself, times when a smile was worth a 1,000 words or memory after memory of times when you betrayed yourself as well as your friends or partner and lied to them to find comfort in a bottle? sure being a drunk or stoner or brown head might have its moments, but they are rare and come at too high a price. get clean and start to feel and live. Most people don't understand how difficult it is to quit drugs and find healthy ways to manage your emotional pain. I got into drugs after going through divorce.
