What a game!!!!! I remember watching this when I was growing up. It's great to relive it again now that I'm older. I been looking for it for a while too. Great ending to the game too - Gary Clark - what a spin and run. Thanks for uploading.
I was at this game with my dad sitting in the upper level of RFK behind the end zone that Gary Clark scored on that long pass in OT. The place went crazy. Will never forget it.
Maximus Wolfe....Hall of Fame? Jacoby, yes. Clark, yes. L. Brown, maybe. Don Warren? Definitely not. More deserving is Jerry Smith. Mark Moseley. Pat Fischer.
Don Warren is one of my favorite Redskin players ever. He had a fantastic career. His receiving statistics weren't quite good enough to warrant HOF consideration, IMO.
43:05 This was not just a rare event, I recall this happening a little too much with Gary Clark for me to consider him HOF material. Following the MNF game where he dropped a 4th down easy pass that would have kept a game winning drive alive and put the Redskins in first place in the NFC East. Gary Clark was really good but he dropped passes at big moments.
Tommy Kramer was never the same when he hurt his left leg. in 1982. BUT. he was still good. but then when he hurt his right leg. he could not even walk. lol. he was always limping. he would play hurt all the time. he had a lot of guts doing that. but. he was not. good anymore- after Fran The Man retired. the Vikings. defense. was bad for like 8 years. and a hurt Kramer. was not good for the Vikings
Gary Clark of the Washington Redskins conducted at least 3 football camps at Native American reservations during his career. He wanted to know if they thought the Redskins name was racist. What he saw was Native Americans wearing Redskins gear and saying that they were proud to be a Redskin fan and the 5% that weren’t Redskins fans were Cowboys fans and that’s why they didn’t like the name.
They should have made the playoffs this season. They lost to the skins in OT, the giants at home by a game winning fg, and flew a lead against the browns. All 3of those teams made the championship game in each conference. Plus they lost a week 15 game at Houston that killed their playoff chances. 86 was the start of some good teams. Miss those Viking teams.
Honestly as much flack as Schoeder received I forgot how many drops that occurred while he was a quarterback. He had a strong arm but when your receivers aren't helping it makes it difficult
Oh bullshit. He was blessed with one of the greatest receiving choirs of all time. Monk is HOF and Clark deserves to be. The next season they fully implemented Ricky Sanders (the posse). Schroeder had accuracy problems his entire nfl career. Receivers are human and Monk and Clark were never known to be droppers. Quite the contrary. Add to that Clint Didier and Kelvin Bryant and you’ve got a plethora of sure handed receiving weapons. Schroeder was spoiled.
@@MaximusWolfe it seemed to me that Clark dropped some pretty catchable balls every game (he does in this game) but then he went out and made spectacular catches of almost impossible passes. But what a group the posse was! Each capable of thousand yard seasons.
Schroeder was 24-7 as the starting QB for the Skins, His .775 Winning percentage with the 'Skins is higher than Tom Brady's career record.. Billy Kilmer, 50-23-1, .682, is 2nd.. Both are UCLA guys..
This was a great game. I wonder how low Max Zendejas lasted after this game? As I recall Washington would lose 31-30 to Denver later in the season because of a missed extra point. I do not recall if that was Zendejas or another kicker. After Mosley joined Cleveland, Washington went thru a few kickers until Chip Lohmiller joined the team. Gibbs' teams during his first run were resilient. I have rewatched a few games from this era recently. Great times!
Sadly Chip Lohmiller was their best kicker! Read my comment above on Max and Mosely! They stunk! Mosely could barely kick the ball more than 43 yds! Mark and Max cost the Redskins way too many games and playoff berths or a perfect season in 83-84! Mark was the main reason plus the defense blowing the 2 MNF games to the Cowboys and Packers! They were up 23-3 at the half and the Cowboys exploded in the 2nd half but if Mark did not choke some easy kicks they win! They lost 31-30. They lost 48-47 to the Packers a game I have never seen and look forward to watching despite another tough loss! could have matched the Pats at 16-0 that year! Lohmiller was decent on turf but stunk on grass even at home. All these years later they are still searching for a FG kicker P/KO ret man and QB pathetic! Underperformance injuries have killed this team over the years. Still will always be my favorite NFL team! Go REDSKINS! Screw those fake liberals! If the Native Americans did not have a problem with the name no one else should either! What a pansy sensitive society we live in today! These were the better days in the NFL the 80's and 90's!
If it wasn't for the incarnation of Fox Sports, Dick Stockton would still be at CBS Sports today as we speak. I really miss him there, especially when Dick was an ace at calling NBA games when CBS was home to that league.

The '86 Redskins were loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and were one step from the Super Bowl. Gibbs had a great mixture of youth and solid veterans. Unfortunately, he couldn't get past his nemesis, Bill Parcells. The Giants, with Lawrence Taylor and Phill Simms, owned the Skins in the second half of the 80s.
@@MaximusWolfe Outside of 87 and 91 the NYG did beat us constantly and even the Cowboys and it drove me nuts! Did we even sweep them in 87 or split? They just had our number. If we had better QB instead of mediocre QBS we win 3-4 more Super Bowls! Go Redskins always!!!!

Pretorious700 Zendejas however you spell it sucked! He missed a 51 yd FG then missed 3 extra points! 2 of the extra points were blocked but still no excuse missing those! He was just like Mosely as Mark he was maybe decent for the 82 Super Bowl season and even in 83 he cost the Skins a perfect reg season with so many short missed FGS during the season and extra points in both of those Monday Night losses to the Cowboys at home and on the road in GB! I think he missed 1 or 2 critical short FGS in those 2 MNF losses too? Mosely should have been cut during the 83-84 season even when he set a scoring record that season. It was only because the Redskins set the number 1 scoring record ALL TIME that season. The Vikings broke that scoring record in 98 and a few other teams have passed it since but it is still top 5-10 all time during a time where running the ball was emphasized and meant something.
In 2023, it will be my 54th season as a Viking! That game gave me night sweats.

Gary Clark will always be welcome on this channel. Not a Redskin fan, but I loved to watch him play.
This a great underrated game. 1,013 total yards, 7 lead changes, 4 players with 100+ rec yds
Well more impressive for the time period when you were allowed to play actual defense and no one thought two rushes in row was a criminal offense.
