The springs back memories of when I was 16 I had a lark like this little bit newer by a couple years however it had the 289 V8 supercharged four speed from the factory I should have never got rid of that car what a dumb kid I was lol keep up the good work
What a beautiful example of this Lark ! Very classy looking, too. Love the added chrome parts - door handle paint protectors really enhance the brt.red color ! A guy down the street has a newer model with the supercharged 289 4 speed. He only brings it out for shows & some cruising. These were made about 15 minutes from my house! Thanks for another great video. !
That is a unique car for somebody who wants something a little different and doesn't mind having to change gears. I didn't know they used over drive back then. Thanks for posting this. It reminds me of an AMC Rambler Rebel I saw back in the 70s.
I saw this video again they should bring back these gourgeus cars, they Are just so awsome, thanks jeff and Jordan for this video i enjoy every moment from tom your friend always, you Are the Best People i know 😍😍😍
A co-worker of mine in the 70's drove one like this for years to work. It was a tough car. I always liked them after seeing his, Thanks for the memories Jeff !!
Studebaker hit it out of the park with the 59 Lark. The 60 models weren’t that much different with the exception of a 4 door wagon and convertible. Really nice restoration on this one!
The name fits this baby, 6 cyl in line flathead gives a Nice sound beautiful gourgeus luxiry car, colour stunning, inside wow wow 😊 😊 😊, have you got your hood back for your studebaker, thanks jeff and Jordan for this video i enjoy every moment ✌️ from tom your friend always 🤩 🤩
The pickups had the Lark front end on them. Studebaker was short of money and couldn’t afford to retool a new front for the pickups. They also bought the old dies from dodge to produce their fleet side beds. That’s why the body lines don’t match.
It sure is a cool old car. I remember seeing them as a young kid. Doesn't seem like they were that popular. Them and Rambler were kind of regarded as an old person's car. Chevrolet pretty much dominated the market back then.
My parents had a 1959 Lark with 3 on the tree and overdrive. The overdrive engages automatically above about 25 mph when you release the gas momentarily. Pulling the T-lever out PREVENTS overdrive from engaging.
Whoever bought this car has a nice runabout, and a nice deal for $17K. Also, it's a 3 on the tree! Hopefully, the buyer didn't ruin it and install wagon wheels and a small-block Chevy.
Bought one of these 62 lark back in the 80s I didn't pay much like 1200 1500 it was in great shape ran good except for Long Hills it would always lose its prime it had a fuel pump with a glass bowl and I'd have to take it off and take the breatherr off and put a rag over the carburetor to get get a fire back up. Lol Good Times . I loved that car though .
What a clean car,i remember seeing these all through the 60's.
Thanks for checking it out Kenny!
Always good time seeing these country classic cars videos. Love this example and cannot imagine how hard that trim must be to find
Glad you liked it, thank you for watching!

Thanks for checking it out Kevin. Those supercharged models are pretty sweet, I wouldn't mind having one of those.

The Lark and the new Valiant both for 1960 seemed to share similar front fascia styling.
Another nice walkthrough. Thanks
Thanks Dale, I appreciate you taking a look!

Haven't seen one of those in years
I rarely come across them either. This is a really nice looking example. Thanks for watching Mark!
Hi Jeff,
I believe my mom had a similar car like this minus her was silver and automatic.
As always thanks for sharing this beautiful car.
That's cool that she had one that was similar. Thanks for taking a look at this one, we appreciate it Michael!

The Daytona models had a 289. I had one in high school.

Thanks for watching Tom, we appreciate it my friend!
Studebaker made some beautiful cars, like this. Shame it didn't work out for them.
Manual with overdrive. The tee-handle is the overdrive lock-out.
I had one.
These were, and still are very cute cars. And, they were good sellers. That is an optional hood ornament.
The pickups had the Lark front end on them. Studebaker was short of money and couldn’t afford to retool a new front for the pickups. They also bought the old dies from dodge to produce their fleet side beds. That’s why the body lines don’t match.
That's interesting, I knew they were very similar, but I wasn't aware it was actually the same.
👍👍Beautiful automobile👍👍
Thanks for having a look!
Love it
😎👍

Yes, they got 30 mpg.
