Warren is a talented guitarist, and he did co-write Ordinary World. However, long tenure in the band, nor association to a Rock icon, does not carry weight to any claims of greatness. He was in the right place at the right time after Liberty bombed. Andy Taylor had nothing to do with that bomb. Andy is and always will be the power behind Duran Duran's sound. He co-wrote an arsenal of songs during DD's first 4 albums, all of which helped shape and define an entire era of music. Not too shabby.
I've seen plenty of live videos where Andy has been rocking out hard! Thoroughly enjoying himself. I think Andy just likes to play. Part of the reason he left possibly.

Andy is amazing...he co founded, and co wrote all of the songs that made this band the fab 5. he was part of creating a NEW genre and NEW scene as disco was dying and people wanted/needed more. warren. not so much. i am not saying warren or dom are bad musicians, but they are definitely NOT as good as Andy is in DD. DD isn't DD without any of the 5. His style, sound/technique and backing vox complete it as a whole band. to the haters. i've got nothing for ya....not worth the time
When the Astronaut album session was over, they were working on another album called Reportage, the only problem that Sony didn't approve the album for being the most daring one that also had to do with politics. So they scrapped it, and one of the people who works at Sony had asked them to work with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland and Andy didn't like that idea at all, that they were going to change their sound style and that made him very angry and willing to leave the company. band. When the Red Carpet Massacre album was released it wasn't as successful as Astronaut. RCM was a criminally underrated album. The only song I like from that album is just Falling Down the others didn't surprise me

Long story about Andy's best friend using stories Andy told him about DD to become famous. Andy never knew his best friend would publish a story about all the boys drug use. Nick is still shitty that his coke addiction was published to the world.
You do realise Warren wrote most of Ordinary World? That song put them back on the map after Liberty bombed. Warren was also in the band longer than Andy ever was and any guitarist that played with Zappa is gonna destroy Andy with talent.
And liberty failed because they didn't an to use Ordinary World and Come Undone on the album both written by Warren. When they used those songs on the wedding album they became DD's biggest selling songs.
