Thank you Dr. Fuhrman, your inspiration has helped me get my health back. I’ve lost 35 lbs. In 3 months, no longer have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, extremely high inflammation, extremely high proteins, I am no longer taking any medication. You changed by life. I am no longer obese. I need to loss 17 more pounds to be at my normal weight. I hope by June. I had given up. I was diagnosed with Lupus, because my bloodwork showed extremely high protein level double the normal rate 12.9, after one months on your program, I was below normal range at 4.5. Please Note: recent blood tests shows, that I do not have Lupus nor psoriatic arthritis. I was miss diagnosed, based on the high range I reach in my blood work up. Today, my blood test is completely below normal or lower levels. I do have a plan, I will never go back to eating animal protein, sugar, bread, dairy, process foods, oil, again. But, If I make a mistake and eat these foods again, whatever the reason may be, I will get right back on track on my next meal. As now I now better, I have educated my self, and know better. Dr. Fuhrman, Please continue teach us this powerful knowledge. I am eternally grateful. My message to everyone reading my message; I highly recommend that you give this program a chance. especially if you’re tired of feeling sick all the time. tired of being overwhelmed with chronic illness. try it, you won’t ever go back again. Life is a gift, and “quality” of life is priceless. Thank you again, Dr. Fuhrman.

All my life when I would look into different diets they all fell short somehow, each one had some sort of red flag that told me its just not quite right. His way of eating seems like common sense. Seems so easy, like a light just came on.

Your the first person that I have believed what they have said about diet and how to stay away from diabetes and over all good health. I feel so relieved and I am filled with hope and excitement. I had given up. What all the other Nutritionists/Doctors recommended never worked for me. I felt like I was a failure. No matter how hard I tried nothing seemed to work.........Each diet plan out there had one thing or another that fell short of addressing my issues. I read about the glycemic index/load and it made since to me as I had watched my fathers blood sugars spike with white rice but not as bad when he ate brown rice, plus he didn't like brown rice so he didn't eat as much of it. So it makes perfect sense to eat a plant based diet but pay close attention to the glycemic load of the food your consuming. Also the idea that we should eat foods that are as nutrient dense as possible sounds like perfect common sense to me. Thank you Dr Fuhrman for opening my eyes and giving me the hope I needed! My next task is to find foods to meet all my needs that are non GMO, local sourced, or am able to produce them myself.

Thank you so much for this information. I absolutely understand and confirm this great talk. I am from Africa 5 years here next June. I never was over weight but in my 2nd year here I started feeling heavier. I had tasted pizza, ice cream, cheese, lunch meat, cakes, chocolates, coffee breaks items, piles, meats, donuts, and loved all of them so much. During our Lenten observances (40 days) two weeks ago, along with skipping breakfast two days a week, I decided to abstain from everything sugary stuff completely and reduce my meat intake, but eat more fruits and vegetables as I was used to before coming in the us. To my greatest surprise, just after a week I could feel lighter, my belly slimmer and right now after two months I am back to my normal body weight range (158lbs with 5 feet 7'). No more rheumatoid pains on my knees and joins... Right now when I try any sugary stuff it's tastes awful and I have to spill it out. I don't coffee break anymore, no eating between meals, no bread,...I eat only fruits and vegetables very little meat and feel soooo great! Never again to go back. I workout 4 to 5 times a week. Thank you very much. God bless you.

Dr. Fuhrman speaks the truth. I REALLY appreciate his lectures. I follow Dr. Fuhrman's leadership. I have been an Intensive Care Unit nurse for over a decade with the majority of my gut wrenching experiences caring for patients suffering by lifestyle choices, the consequences of which are played out in the theatre of the medical intensive care (MICU) and Cardiac surgery ICU. I realized that all my patients suffer so much and although our aim in healthcare is not to judge their lifestyle, I have come to clearly realize that at some pivotal points of their lives, the gruesome path to illness could have been prevented.
I must admit that I stopped eating meat 5 years ago and I remained an occasional ovo-pescatarian after I learned that the meats and lactose was making my bowel movements extremely rancid because it took so long to digest and my abdomen was constantly bloated and in painful pressure from lactose intolerance. I then learned how highly inflammatory is cow's milk. After I cut out dairy and meat, I no longer had gut havoc. My self learning that more than 60% of immunity is in the abdomen was juxtapositioned against the gravest patients in septic shock who had huge guts. I looked down at my inflamed belly and I realized that a life of eating rancidity promoting, antibiotic ridden, hormone injected foods would likely lead to this. This dietary transition has been slowly coming and progressing toward a vegan diet. I had tried being vegan, but it never stuck because weight loss or mental acuity goals are not weighty or substantial enough. I needed conviction and after listening carefully, I not only welled up in my conviction, but also passion for eliminating suffering. Dr. Fuhrman gave me the courage, knowledge, and the tools to be informed, share with my patients, and inspired me to really appreciate Family Practice medicine. Having been in acute care taking care of patients with sepsis and organ failures, cancers, and tremendous suffering, I realize how this information is gold, pure gold.
I am studying to be an acute care nurse practitioner, but primary care where prevention is, where people can prevent their own suffering by starting off making the right food choices! I am elevating my education in order to educate my patients appropriately. every nugget of gold counts. The lifelong self learning of truths of this caliber is far more important than what they teach in schools, because schools are stunted and can not teach these truths at this point in our humanity due to the power and financial stakes of the food and pharmaceutical industries. Also, as much as truth is revealed, many people still choose to continue their habits, so education must be angled in a manner that is meaningful to them.

I'm 197 lbs and should be, maybe 175. I went whole plant foods in 2003. But I've shifted to allow some chips (garden of eden) and, I'm not really sure what. But I went from 190 to 170 in 2003 and stayed that way for a few years. And subsequently crept back up. I can also eat a pound of pecans and dates. I'm getting psyched up watching this video. I think I can get back down to 180. I've got to really go crazy on the greens. Don't accept exceptions. Wait till I'm actually hungry to eat. The benefits are so immense. What is it worth to be free of disease and live a long time. I also very much want to be more athletic and more comfortable. Can you imagine how much nicer jogging will be. Or how much faster I'll be in ultimate frisbee. I'm allowing too many exceptions. I need to do this for my family too. We're making too many exceptions. My kids eat pancakes (buckwheat, vegan - but still - oil, flour, syrup!).

difference in jogging from 190 to 175 is AMAZING ! Personally I feel a great shift once I dropped down to 176 pounds (and lower but 176 was my personal magic number). Jogging feels so different ... in running every 3 pounds begin to be felt imo (if you jog at the same time of day regularly). Keep jogging, don't forget to do good self massage of soft tissue also :) .

This came at the right time when I was waiting on a sign which dietary lifestyle I should follow for good. I have been on the McDougall diet, the Paddison Prgormamm for rheumatoid arthitis and on all raw vegan diets. I lost 88 pounds on a almost all raw food diet, then included more starches again and gained back 20 pounds over the last year. My rheumatoid arthritis got better, but never went away all the way. There is still inflammation going on. I am currently on 5mg of Prednison. I have started doing sports in 2015 and went to my local dojo. I started Aikido. I went went on, even when I was in a lot of pain sometimes. I knew, I could do it somehow and that there was a way for me to get well all the way. Now that I have found you and the nutrition diet and the aphorisms you used wth the belt colours, I knew I have gotten my sign. I just made my orange belt in July. Now I know, that I can go all the way and also get well too. Thank you so much.

I learned so much. The meal plate is super helpful. I have access to my own farm raised, grass fed, free range: eggs, poultrt and livestock. But like you said, you can use a tiny bit of meat for flavor in soup or stew. Easily 2-5% of a stew being meat will add plenty of flavor. More importantly, I am losing weight from being severely obese. And eating lots of vegetables helps me deal with my eating addiction (I have an addiction to the process of eating.) Your talk has taught me so much. I love that I can eat all these nutritious foods and feel full and feel great.

I gave up meat about 3 yrs ago and will never go back. Yesterday I saw vid where a cow was chasing a truck that was carting off her off spring. That cemented my conviction. If you can enjoy a burger or drink a glass of milk after seeing something so heartbreaking, you've lost your compassion.

The best Doctor, the best information on food and hunger I've ever heard anyone talk about. I've never been overweight. And only ate when I was hungry. Plus, I've only ever liked fruits and vegetables. what I didn't know was the amount of chemicals sprayed on food. And what Cows eat, (or any other meat.) Another thing I've been made to feel guilty, "because your not eating enough." Thank You so much, for been part of life. sharing "living food, healthy food. Nutritarian is my new word for the year. When my physician suggested I go on a statin drug to decrease cholesterol, I asked, "What about trying lifestyle change. I'm already on a low cholesterol diet. I need help learning how to get adequate nutrition through a vegetarian diet."
"It's not likely to help you given your family history. But if you insist, check the public library for books written by Dr. Dean Ornish. He provides a good guide."
I had my cholesterol down within one month. I changed to a plant-based diet and increased power walking from 20 minutes a day to 30 minutes a day. I was not as strict as Dr. Ornish as he avoids adding any oil to the diet--not even nuts.
The diet recommended in this video has many similarities. However, I do like adding healthy oils to my diet. I enjoy making homemade dressings. It would be great if you posted some of those ground nuts salad dressing recipes. I can't find any in my Google search so far. I may need to experiment with blending my own. I already made a yummy seasoned avocado mash for salad dressing. It also tastes great mixed with quinoa.
Does anyone have any salad dressing recipes to share that has no other oil than nut puree?

55:25 one of the signs of true hunger: dramatically heightened taste sensation: suddenly blueberries are not just the most delicious thing but they're exquisite. Eating healthfully is pleasurable. I gotta go in the catabolic stage more but have healthful foods available so I don't got out to eat (streamed veggies and white rice, actually probably with lots of oil, salt, etc.).

Eating a bagel is like taking cocaine. Dr. Fuhrman. Actually, I agree completely with this. He's talking about food addiction. Not to say that a bagel is as deleterious to your health, but in the long run, a diet with regular bagels, is quite deleterious too. I'm getting psyched up eating my second salad today. Just came back from a jog. Instead of a stupid "Kind" bar. Should be called "Unkind" bar.
