We got shit football quality in our beloved capitol. But thanks to rivalry between the Stockholm clubs, in particular, there is some sort of enjoyment in the arenas. Summary, pro football in Sweden owes EVERY damn thing to the supporters. Football in Sweden is NOTHING without the fans and the supporters, the active ones in particular, ultras.

Currently the frequently most attended Stockholm derbies are Hammarby-AIK followed by Hammarby-Djurgården. The fact that Hammarby and djurgården share stadium makes this the HOTTEST derby, as the title suggests. If we bring history to the table then of course Aik-Djurgården is much bigger.

I experience that things are starting to change though. First of all hif and dif play at the same stadium which have created a hatred between the clubs ive never seen before. Second, hammarby has grown from a seemingly mediocre swedish club to one of the top teams. In recent years AIK has by far been the best out of all three but after last season all Stockholm clubs are fighting for the gold. Those aspects makes it hard to decide which derby is the biggest right now.

Im off to Stockholm for Djurgarden v Hammarby on the last sunday in april, very much looking forward to it. We knew one of the teams in Stockholm would be at home over that weekend so decided to book up but very lucky there is a derby that weekend. Were going to Orebro on the monday night aswell.

It is actually interesting how this episode isn't about Djurgården - AIK. Sure, Djurgården - Hammarby has emotions, but it's more about showing who is the best in town than anything else and it's usually mostly fun. Whenever we play Hammarby, I have friends that are bajen fans who I can joke around with and we can like give each other friendly insults, but always with respect. Even random supporters in the subway; I ran into a sea of green-white people when I was wearing a DIF scarf at one time and needed to catch a train without realizing it was actually HIF matchday XD .. I thought I would get wrecked, but they mostly laughed and smiled about my little mistake of ending up with them. When it comes to the biggest rivalry and the one most laced with absolute hate, however, there really isn't any other swedish derby that comes close to Djurgården - AIK, it is sort of renowned for it's animosity. That one is almost always violent and hateful.

Second and third biggest is still the Stockholm derbys Djurgården/AIK/Hammarby. Theres no comparison. But I'd say that København vs Brøndby is fourth in that regard.
Djurgården and AIK were born in 1891 with one month apart. Bröndby was founded 1964 and FCK in the 90's in a merger between two smaller clubs. I'm not saying there's no tension between FCK and BIF, but the Danish derby lacks the +100 years of rivalry you will find between DIF and AIK.

First of all, Stockholms Stadium was first the home to Aik the biggest club in Sweden even though I don't cheer for them that's the way it is. Aik got an offer when the new national arena was building, and then they were the living of Stockholm Stadium, and Aik accepted the offer to be the living team in the new National stadium. Then Djurgården moved in to Stockholm Stadium, and it is the same way with Tele 2 Arena " Nya Söderstadion". Hammarby is the reason the Arena was built, and was the sole living team for the Arena orginally. Djurgården sent in build orders for a area close to the Stockholm Stadium, which is called "Gärdet". Djurgården was sure that they would get the building permit, but it was turned down by Stockholm City Counsel. Even managers board members from Djurgården said they would never share an arena with a competetor team, but the fight for their own arena fell. So they got desperate, since they weren't allowed to play on Stockholm Stadium anymore, so they made a quick deal with Tele2 arena, which was about to be called "Nya Söderstadion". Söderstadion was Hammarbys old grounds, which is now razed, and Djurgården also called "Grindif" struck a deal with the constructors of the new arena Tele2 Arena "Nya Söderstadion. And that's where we are today, so basiclly Djurgården has never had a own home, they have just been tenants in to other teams arenas. Forza Bajen

As many have already pointed out, the premise of this video is incorrect. As the "twin clubs", both founded in 1891, Djurgården and AIK are the major rivals in Stockholm. To be frank, no fans of these teams care too much about the derbys against Hammarby-a club with persistent difficulties of establishing itself in the first league of Swedish football.
Stockholms stadion is a stadium AIK outgrew, and djurgården took it in 1937 when AIK moved to Råsunda, therefore the "home" of djurgården, as the woman in the video is referring to, is nothing more than an outgrown AIK-stadium 😉

Alla klubbar ville bygga egna arenor men Stockholms stad vägrade, Aik ville köpa Råsunda men Svenska Fotbollsförbundet vägrade och tvingade bort de till Friends. I'm not much of a football fan but I have to say that Stockholm has the best arenas and the best supporter clubs in Sweden.
Sorry to break it to you but Djurgården against AIK is the biggest derby in Scandinavia.

Second and third biggest is still the Stockholm derbys Djurgården/AIK/Hammarby. Theres no comparison. But I'd say that København vs Brøndby is fourth in that regard.
Djurgården and AIK were born in 1891 with one month apart. Bröndby was founded 1964 and FCK in the 90's in a merger between two smaller clubs. I'm not saying there's no tension between FCK and BIF, but the Danish derby lacks the +100 years of rivalry you will find between DIF and AIK.
I would say its a three club rivalry i would add AIK
Even the second division derby ÖIS-GAIS is pretty lit the match i often delayed by 10-20 minutes

First of all, Stockholms Stadium was first the home to Aik the biggest club in Sweden even though I don't cheer for them that's the way it is.
Aik got an offer when the new national arena was building, and then they were the living of Stockholm Stadium, and Aik accepted the offer to be the living team in the new National stadium.
Then Djurgården moved in to Stockholm Stadium, and it is the same way with Tele 2 Arena " Nya Söderstadion".
Hammarby is the reason the Arena was built, and was the sole living team for the Arena orginally.
Djurgården sent in build orders for a area close to the Stockholm Stadium, which is called "Gärdet".
Djurgården was sure that they would get the building permit, but it was turned down by Stockholm City Counsel.
Even managers board members from Djurgården said they would never share an arena with a competetor team, but the fight for their own arena fell.
So they got desperate, since they weren't allowed to play on Stockholm Stadium anymore, so they made a quick deal with Tele2 arena, which was about to be called "Nya Söderstadion".
Söderstadion was Hammarbys old grounds, which is now razed, and Djurgården also called "Grindif" struck a deal with the constructors of the new arena Tele2 Arena "Nya Söderstadion.
And that's where we are today, so basiclly Djurgården has never had a own home, they have just been tenants in to other teams arenas.

As many have already pointed out, the premise of this video is incorrect. As the "twin clubs", both founded in 1891, Djurgården and AIK are the major rivals in Stockholm. To be frank, no fans of these teams care too much about the derbys against Hammarby-a club with persistent difficulties of establishing itself in the first league of Swedish football.

Stockholms stadion is a stadium AIK outgrew, and djurgården took it in 1937 when AIK moved to Råsunda, therefore the "home" of djurgården, as the woman in the video is referring to, is nothing more than an outgrown AIK-stadium 😉

Eran arena? Ni hyr från Stockholms stad din korkade mupp. Ingen Stockholmsklubb har en egen arena. Friends ägs av Svenska Fotbollsförbundet och Tele2 ägs av Stockholms Stad. Alla är hyresgäster. Alla klubbar ville bygga egna arenor men Stockholms stad vägrade, Aik ville köpa Råsunda men Svenska Fotbollsförbundet vägrade och tvingade bort de till Friends. Alla 3 klubbar har blivit rövknullade av politiker.
Du verkar ju helt efterbliven. Inflyttad bonnläpp som de flesta brajare eller bara helt borta i knarkdimmorna?
