@@zachwest1741 Oh, you have a lot to learn, Mr. Dingleberry:
      1. England was the first country to undergo industrialization. Even the ML fascist Trotsky thought the world revolution had to start in the industrialized nations.
      Why?
      2. well, for example, but not exclusively, because states like England, Germany, etc. have been blithely destabilizing any alternative development models, for example in Africa, by supporting proxies and rebels all these years.
      3. the industrialized countries have also massively sanctioned other states, so that they could not develop at all. So how history would have gone, which is a superior society, is not so easy to analyze with respect to 1, 2, and 3. The social world is not a physics experiment that can simply be repeated in the laboratory.
4 Mr. Dingleberry, celebrating North Korea is obviously a cynical joke and you took it seriously. What does that say about you, Mr. Dingleberry?
      5. EVERY single citizen of Haiti (+++Free Market+++) would trade places with a Norkorean or Cuban in a heartbeat. Oh, you live in U.K. and you're fine? What a pathetic retard you are. Unbelievable.

I can only hope that in the next few years America will lift the tourism ban so I can see this beautiful and unique country. It is really a shame, and kind of ironic, that the USA were the ones to ban all travel to DPRK that doesn't serve the "national interest". We will never truly get to know what life is like in this part of the world, as our media doesn't allow it...

    • @uvox670

@Sims Attack, Never truly get to know? It’s exactly how you would imagine life in a totalitarian system. The complete absence of freedom and civil liberties and a state that monitors every aspect of the people’s public and private life. Unique indeed, but in a grim and depressing way. Does that mean that people don’t smile or can’t be happy? No, surely not, because people are resilient, even in the most dire circumstances they will try to make the best of their lives.

    • @simsattackstreams

There is an old Korean saying: 남남북녀 (Southern Men and Northern Girls). This saying already existed before the division. It implicates the belief that the women in the north are the most pretty while men in the south are most handsome.
South Korea also uses (or hijacked if you like to call it) this expression for their TV show where they put North Korean refugee girls together with South Korean men. This show implicates that "the poor North Korean women" need protection of the "strong South Korean men".
The saying is still being used and taught. When I visited Hoeryong in the DPRK. They said that it's the city where apparently the most beautiful girls are from. (It's one of the most northern cities and Kim Jong Suk was born here too)
They also said that men in the south are apparently most handsome.

@@warsawpact1548 I mean, that is clearly untrue, in a country that can't provide electricity 24hrs a day even in the capital, and much rarer in the countryside. Its also well documented from people who lived in NK and still have family there that many school children spend half their school day doing farm labour. I'd hardly call it free education if it is both compulsory and involves unpaid child labour.
